Why, at this time, are we all slating each others club? let's face it, Di Canio is bringing players in hand over foot to the hardest league in the world and probably hoping they will be good enough when in fact they could be a lot worse than you already have. I mean, how many of you have heard of ANY of the players linked?
As for my club, Ashley is a complete person bumbling along and the appointment of Joke Kinnear just shows his contempt for the support. How many players will want to join the club with all this unrest or indeed how many will want to stay? Both Newcastle and Sunderland should be fighting it out at the top end of the table, both massive clubs, not in a right mess that they were in last season. Maybe our banter would be much better if we had two clubs going places and moving forward than the bitter comments, from both sides, because, let's face it, two underachieving clubs with massive loyal support. Just a thought.

Good point well said Agree 100%

Agree mate with potential both clubs have, with support and stadiums. both with billionaire owners we should both be at the top end of the table but for some reason we both seem to under achieve. I would like to have 1% in my bank account on what both teams have wasted on transfers over the years

I hear the figurative olive branch you try to offer but the situation is not quite as you describe. Any bitterness is almost exclusively from your side. Like the rest of the football world we are just laughing at Newcastle because your club is a funny joke at the moment. No hard feelings I hope!
We seem to have a cohesive team in place behind the scenes all pulling in the right direction, an internationally well connected team that should enable us to recruit well. Di Canio is on a mission to establish himself as a world class manager, he is driven to succeed at all cost and his success will be our success. This new regime is hugely exciting for us all. We approach next season with great optimism - do you?

The guy is only wanting a bit of descent banter instead of some of the childish remarks pasted on here and newcastles page we all know its exciting at sol at the moment but it was no different at this stage last season when Newcastle were in a better situation than we have ever been having finished higher in the league than we ever have bringing in extra foreign players as this had worked the previous season only for them to fall flat on their faces. let's hope that the influx of talent we are bringing in from Europe can adapt to the toughest league in the world or we could end up in the s***e I do agree we have a young manager who wants to succeed at the highest level let's hope he is getting well advised on who is coming to the club

Lets see cabral played against man u and spurs so yes I've heard of him diakite obe of best defenders in seria a ba looks decent prospect as does the swede not our fault your circus is doing nowt at the moment

6.) 20 Jun 2013
Would you be posting all this if it was us been made a laughing stock I doubt it

7.) 20 Jun 2013
Yes I imagine most Newcastle fans were pinching themselves the season before last with their lofty league finish; I know I would be if my team had been outplayed in most games they narrowly won or drew, constantly scored late goals when the opposition switched off, and trumpeted the goalie for yet another man of the match award. I think this defines over performance. As for last season, not so much 'falling flat on one's face' as the luck running out and reality setting in.
You'll win nothing without the right structure in place, I believe we are now moving in the right direction, I agree time will tell. They on the other hand have been rotten to the core since Hall and Shephard. It seems the mantle has been passed.

You might be right, we did think we would move on from finishing 5th, but we didn't. I'm not going to argue that we punched above our weight that year (but actualy did you not do the same in 73). Bottom line is that if we played to our true potential (fan base and money-go-round) we would be both be top 10 sides and pushing 6-7. Neither of us will get into the 4, we don't have the financial backing and we are both deluded if we think we can

Well put mate I don't mind banter with Newcastle fans who post sensible banter I have a few mag friends in my village who speak on the same level but then you also get the ones who never go to the games but know everything keep up the sensible banter
