OK . Yes we have lost the first two games but this is down to the long injury list (yet again) and the lack of transfer activity. Add into this Kaboul leaving for personal reasons and the club is in disarray once again.

The concerning aspect of this is the financial comments coming out. Moyes is stating we can not complete with other Premier League clubs budgets which must point to real issues behind the scenes with the clubs finances. It might not be her but I will point blame towards Margaret Byrne for this!

If you look at it from a matter of fact point of view we have lost the follwoing players from the wage bill: -

Adam Johnson
Steven Flethcher
Danny Graham
Wes Brown
Santiago Vergini
Sebatian Coates
Younes Kaboul
Yann M'Vila (Loan)
Deandre Yedlin (Loan)
Ola Toivonen (Loan)

There must be at least £250k per week there coming off the outgoing wage bill so why are we in such a mess?

I am no expert but I can only put this down to two factors. Firstly the structured payments for incoming players. Dick Advocaat commented that we are still paying for players who are not even at the club anymore so outgoings are massive. I actually think these structured deals are the reason we struggle to complete transfers as other clubs must offer more cash up front and shorter payment time frames.

The second factor, and this is based upon Moyes comments recently, is that we are not getting resale value on players leaving the club. Johnson, Fletcher and Graham are pushing £30m outlay and not a penny back incoming when they left the club. This type deficit would hit any club hard.

I can only hope that the bumper TV money is being used to clear some of this aged debt to get us back on a more stable financial platform but that could spell trouble for the club this season is we can't get a squad together to avoid relegation.

These are just my thoughts on why we are in such trouble at present and I could be well wide of the mark. However, I do think at least part of this is true and might explain why Moyes keeps mentioning young and resale when referring to incoming transfers.

You are spot on GNSAFC, Ellis may be a billionaire on paper but he does have a big bank debt that has to be paid up by this year otherwise more interest will be tacked on. The TV monies will help off set this to get the club back on track but the sacrifice is that we can't afford the big transfers that Moyes is alluding too. When you think off the outlay we put out for Fletcher, Johnson and Graham comes to nearly 30 million pounds and not a penny back and you still have to pay the bank back, had we of gone down I bet he would have sold the club. Our only hope is that Moyes can craft a team that will stay up again and next year we will have some money to move forward with.

Well somethings not right at this club at board level? why is it that lesser clubs like Stoke Bournmouth Swansea etc etc can bid massive bids for players and we are AGAIN shopping at Poundland? history has shown if you don't invest you will be relegated!
