Sorry hit send early. basically wanted to ask what the perception of Rodwell is now?

{Ed001's Note - the same. Just a money grabber who isn't interested in earning his dosh.}

Thanks ed. He really doesn't come off too well in the doco and ya feel a bit aorry for sunderland as they hope Rodwell agrees to terminate his contract and continue his career. But he appears happy enough to sit i'm the physio real shame.

I never realized how big Sunderland club, altho to ya locals maybe it not as big as it seema in the doco haha. Wish em all the beat anyways!

{Ed001's Note - he chased the money from the start of his career, which is why it went downhill so fast.

As for Sunderland, they are a huge club, it is a one-club city which means they have the whole city and its surrounding areas as a catchment area.}

Fully recommend the doc ed1 if ya get time. 8 episodes, bout 40min each. Covers the 2017-18 season. Best parts are seeing the impact on the local people involved at the club and how invested they are. I wonder if that local fabric has gone missing at some of the bigger clubs including ours (liverpool) .

I see Ellis Short sold up. Is the club on the mend?

{Ed001's Note - bit early to tell if it is on the mend, but it could hardly be run any worse to be honest. I do intend to watch it when I can.}

I think, not being from the UK, some of the nuances of the football culture is obviously unknown. So this doc has been good to fill in the gaps about the club. Only really knew about them from the premier league and that they were easy to beat. haha.

{Ed001's Note - my parents lived in the north east for a few years, the rivalry is intense. Can be a bit nasty between the 3 big clubs in the area though, in fact it is mostly nasty to be honest. Closer in feel to the rivalry between Celtic/Rangers than Liverpool/Everton really between Sunderland/Newcastle.}

It looked pretty rough in the stands lol but mind you they were losing a lot. Felt sorry for 'em lots of closes losses and draws.

Ellis short never appears in this series but the CEO mentions a lot how there was no money to spend anymore as the owner felt that previously he had invested heavily for little reward. Was their demise as simple as splashing cash in the wrong direction? Also, they look scarily what we (liverpool) could have ended up as had we not got shot of H&G don't they!?

{Ed001's Note - they were run by an imbecile who put well meaning but clueless people like Niall Quinn in charge. He then threw money at the buffoons in an attempt to make it work. Even if they spent nothing they would have struggled under Short, as he knew nothing about footie and so appointed the wrong people.}

Was Martin Bain one of the problems he seemed like a nice fellow but maybe a bit passive?

One thing that really stands out is culture and atmosphere. A lot of similarities with us and the environment that needed changing towards the end of BRs reign

Appreciate the dialogue ed1.

{Ed001's Note - the whole lot was clueless mate. All of them.}
