My mate who has a close connection to the club has said that Jose Enrique to Sunderland is all but done and we're awaiting on a decision from the player. Hope this is true, likely on a permanent.

A strong possibility of a cb/target man coming in too, thought to be a loan deal.

I've heard he's on him way to west brom fora medical

2.) 01 Sep 2015 12:18:58
Heard from a good source it's more likely to be tiago llori on loan from Liverpool

3.) 01 Sep 2015 12:37:52
He also turned us down

4.) 01 Sep 2015 13:07:05
Sky saying Enrique is on his way to west brom

5.) 01 Sep 2015 14:12:48
Apparently reading from a couple of sources that Enrique prefers sunderland over west brom because of borini and Coates

6.) 01 Sep 2015 14:37:27
Enrique would be a good move in my opinion once he gets match fit

In case anyone thinks that the Borini rumours are publicity stunts, they arent. They are 110% true, Borini's agent is on wearside to discuss.

I would like to make a note on the interview Dick Advocaat was recently involved in. When asked about us turning and chanting against Ellis Short, following the lines of "Are you watching Ellis Short", Dick said he has to blame himself.

Now, I believe he knew what he was doing stating that he blames himself, it is a common thing myself would do, being a teenager to put pressure on the opposing person to feel guilty and sorry. Hence I believe, he was intending for Short to feel sorry for him, resulting in more money to be spent.

Also, I would like to make a slight comment on the article posted by 'The S*n, which reinforces our lack of spending, stating that we our 'out of money'. We're clearly trying to be frugal but I think that's to balance the books due to debt, not because we are actually skint. Clearly, we're trying to be fugal though that's likely to balance the books due to debt, 'not' because we are actually skint. Ellis can't hide the fact that he has money, with his net worth totaling to a figure just high of $6bn, after those two performances we are never going to be able to attract anyone here along with the current state considering the deadwood, so why not show some optimism and ambition that we want to go and progress, we want to get rid of the deadwood, and release them from the contracts, obviously those who we wouldn't still be paying for once they had officially left us. Yes, it would cost money, but not a large amount of money, by doing this we would encourage players to come here, by showing that we don't want to be in and around these positions of such a great league. Anyway, sorry for the spam, I just thought I would leave my verdict to make up for my lack of posting.

I also have a seemingly brief description I came up with about Ellis Short, though it says a lot in all honesty.

Short has pockets, he has small players in them, and money in them, though he always opts against the obvious.

Ellis Is indeed a very wealthy man,but come on, where in the world do you get 6 billion from.Did you just make it up?

2.) 17 Aug 2015 21:17:41
That is in dollars. I have no idea if it is true but that is his reported net worth. Just reinforces that the money is available

3.) 17 Aug 2015 21:59:01
Yet cannot be spent, ffp rules, maxed wage bill, he could buy the entire brazilian starting 11 & still couldn't pay them. Our wage bill is so high it's unreal, the amount we spend for what we earn is crippling. People keep saying omg xx team is spending why can't we. That's why, we don't have the income, wages or money to pay them.

Mainly because those we do have are mercs & final payday types, the few players we do have who are good may as well not be playing with the shower of junk most of our old timers do on the pitch.

short has a half share in his company loan star which is the biggest loan company in the usa he also bought the bank of south korea which was investigated by the fbi his company is reportedly worth over 60 billion making short the fifth richest owner in english football 2 years ago he retired from work taking a payout of 2 billion last year he returned back to work as he intends to bring his company to europe where he reckons he could increase its value to over 120 billion

Realistically that will never happen. Though we should have a team like that now, if not better considering the substantial amount of money which has been spent since Shorts arrival (£250m). I would expect if Short took note of the problems, he'd look for at least £30m free to spend now.

GK: Pantillimon
RB: Matthews
CB: Evans
CB: O'Shea
LB: Alonso
CDM: M'Vila
CM: Rodwell/Calhanoglu
CM: Larsson
LW: Lens
ST: Hernandez/Austin
RW: Watmore

These team is more than achievable if the supposed £50m was the budget at the beginning of the window, because we have only spent £15m and recouped £9m of that. That should leave £44m but £8m from Alvarez maybe, leaves us with nothing to worry about! Though we all know we probably didn't have that substantial budget to start off with, boy do we need it now

I'd think that we are looking for a loan so that we can get him on a free after the loan hence his contract expires this season. I personally would love just to sign him permanently. Cracking player and a fan favorite.

Van Dijk is a young CB. Proven as well. Pace, physicality, and can defend well. And score goals at the other end from corners. Good CB

It is most certainly true, though I 'WOULDN'T risk the money, like Ed says, not £5m. It appears Alvarez isn't staying at the town. Apparently within the clause agreements there was something about games played. I genuinely don't believe he is a flop, he hasn't gelled due to injuries and the pressure, and of course lack of games. If you looked at him at Inter, he played really well, he is one of the only players we have who can beat a man or be willing to go past them, like Johnson and maybe VA

I totally agree with you, no reason why he shouldnt, I feel sorry for him, 5/6 quality players promised and we got 1. Likely was promised a substantial budget and didn't get one. Short and Congerton are disgraceful. I just hope some fans realise it is not really Dicks fault. Yeah he is the manager but who are the ones who have put him to the task with this daft squad in the first place? We could have Ancelotti and we'd still be fighting for relegation. Short needs to spend otherwise goodbye Premier league hello championship.

I have been raving all through the match on my twitter page, tweeted 'Hope Watmore does well and scores now he is on'. The lad goes on does it, not only that. He was the only (parden my French) fucking player to applaud the fans, 'Are you watching Ellis Short' won't change anything, as stated above all the club cares about is money, not spending it, the other way around. If we don't invest at least another 20-30 million we are relegated. I for one don't blame Advocaat, disagree or agree with me I don't mind but I blame the players, It doesn't matter if we had Schteve Mclaren, Gus Poyet again or even Ancelotti or Jose Mourinho. We would still suffer, why? The board. Simple, they won't spend, and as I said a while ago for my first post, 'Congerton is raking his arse and counting sheep' - He still is!

Hopefully Short listens and spends. I suspect he told a few porkies to Dick to get him to come back, perhaps the fact that we would have a substantial transfer budget and we would be able to move on the dross.

Dick stated a while ago that we need to sell before we can buy. We have no chance in hell of selling after the Leicester game, only reinforced by this match.

Pantillimon

Matthews. Coates. O'Shea. PVA.
M'Vila. Cattermole.
Watmore. Giaccherini. Lens
Fletcher/Mandron (On fire)

Bench: Mannone. Kaboul. Larsson (Sub at 60th min). Defoe (If doesn't go to plan go to 4-4-2). Graham. Rodwell. Fletcher/Mandron

I know it won't happen but this team has a balance between defense and attack, more counter attacking with 4 offensive players. I would be very interested to see how this team would pan out

Hello everyone, you probably haven't seen me before but I have been on here a while and thoroughly enjoy reading your posts. I think it is time for me to have my share on what is going on. First of all, what happened on Saturday, usually I would say to others 'well that didn't surprise me', but after the statements made on Advocaats 2nd arrival, I was surprised, very, surprised. Not even Pantiloom could save us from that! The whole team was abysmal, something has to be changed, perhaps the whole team should be changed for next week (the majority of them), they showed no effort on the pitch and had no hunger to win the game, they showed a little promise in the 2nd half, the key word being promise, not quality, not awesomeness, promise.

Now, Lee Congerton, what is this man doing? Raking his arse and counting sheep? YES! In the past fortnight we have had 1/2 rumours which actually make sense, M'vila, and Januzaj. Yes Januzaj has creativity but it will not solve our apalling defense. We also need another striker to fit the 4-3-3 formation. 4-3-3 doesn't work, we are not versatile. The most suited formation for us is likely a 4-2-3-1, Catts needs someone with him.

I think the team should be offered some hungry players, therefore bring in the youth, they seem to be doing great, and Mandron is on fire. I wouldn't mind the team to look like this :-

Pantillimon
Matthews
Coates
O'Shea (c)
Van Aanholt/Tom Robson
Cattermole
M'vila
Watmore
Giaccerini/Januzaj (If he completes loan deal soon)
Lens
Fletcher/Mandron

Fletcher or Mandron should be used, both are great target men. Anyway, that is my thoughts. Please give me feedback :D
