Looks as if Johnson is on his way out after he had a go about Poyets tactics publicly, could be a clearout in Janurary ! mind after last night our defence is still a shambles and can't belive how we won that game ? Like the look of Revellive but we need more depth in the squad !

I see Danny Graham is going on loan to Brentford till Janurary !. what's the point in that !. paticullay when we've got one crocked striker one who won't sign a contract and doesn't want to be here. and the other who is rubbish ! . perhaps Gus wants to play without any strikers at all !. I think this is a bad time to loan out anyone paticually with the threadbare squad with have at present !. what a mess !

Lot rumours in the Sunday papers about Short losing patience with Gus Poyet ! and his job being at risk ? a bit premature really. ?. mind the way our defence is playing I can see another thrashing on the cards ! when a team loses confidence its hard to get it raised again !

No good waiting until it is too late. It is clear that Poyet failed to assemble a squad that can compete, but worse it is clear that he is unable to get any consistency out of the players we do have. The system he favours does not suit the limited skills on the ball of our defenders, and we are still asprone to basic errors as we were when he arrived, so his coaching does not seem to be working either. I think it is time for Short to act decisively- instead of waiting till the lastminute and then doing the minimum he thinks will ensue survival. Moyes is ready to come back. I am sure that even if he can't keep this shower up we will have players who work harder and care more at the end of the season. And if we do go down, we would have a manager we can trust to re-build and bring us back stronger. Unless we get at least three defenders with pace and brains and get some confident performances out of Johnson, Rodwell, Fletcher and Wickham (who can hardly be keen to sign a contract given the current shambolic efforts) we have had it. And we will have made another managerial flop into a very rich managerial flop along the way.
2.) I reluctantly have to agree with those comments as remember this is Gus Poyets team and mostly his players and he's had ayear to get rid of the deadwood !. the defence is a shambles and most half decent teams have 2 good strikers we havnt got one !. there's no plan just excuses ! and worst of all the Mags are above us now !
3.) I don't see what a new coach/manager will do. The problem is with the players, specifically the strikers and defenders. Players who were not brought in by Poyet. A new manager will just inherit the same problems and have the same depth issues. And I would like to know what style is more suited for these players. Bringing the ball from the back is the simplest style. A counter-attack style requires pace and quick thinking. An individualistic style is obviously out of the question. So, tell me how Moyes would do any better with this lot. Stick with Gus. Better than to try and teach them a new system that they're probably not all suited for, either.

The problem is this passing game isn't working ! we don't pose a threat when going forward and for the fans its so boring to watch and you are right SAFCINTHE USA we need pace and defensively and in attack its non existent ! whatever plan Gus has he needs to sort it out and quickly before our confidence is tottaly shot!

I see Gus Poyet is 2nd favourite for the next manager behind Harry Rednapp to get the sack ! I wonder if hell make it till Christmas? we have games against Crystal Palace . Everton, Leicster then Chelsea ,Man City and Liverpool ! so if we can't beat Palace and Leics we are in trouble !

Couldn't agree more. The fact that we are reduced to signing a 34 year old who has been unable to find a club since being released in June reveals the 'new' approach to transfers for what it is- clueless. Poyet talked a good summer but did not match it with actions, and has delivered a very disappointing autumn so far. As I have said before, the only aspect of this club that remains Premier League quality is the fantastic (and undeserved) support loyal fans continue to give to players and management who let us down time after time, while swelling their bank accounts.

Agree ! as after last weeks capitulation at Southampton by some of Gus own signings itll be interesting whether Short releases the purse strings or whether Gus can sign the right players to push us up the table ?. if not we are in for a long long season !

I see Swansea are considering recalling Ki that might derail our cup and leuage hopes so why don't we just BUY him? Swansea have indicated they don't want him on a permenant basis so why the hesitation Gus? certainly worth a £5 million bid and then Swansea can use the money to buy a replacement midfielder they actually want to play regulary in their team!
1.) Ive heard reports that Vergini is due in Sunderland Tommorrow to sign for the team! as compensation has been sorted for the player and his club!. we just need the KI situation sorted and a striker and well look strong for the rest of the season!
2.) Another report that Liverpool are planning a £14 million bid for Adam Johnson!. £2 million now on loan and then another £12 million in he summer! would selling Johnson now weaken our side at this stage!. i'd hang on to him at least till the summer. like Fletcher! If we sell our best players now well get relegated!
3.) Mate don't even look into it, it's just pathetic crappy Journalism
2 good games in 2 seasons, every top club in the world want him, and pay more than what we got him for when he is worse now

Ed what's your call on the Gus Poyet situation and his recent rants ? itll be interesting the crowds reaction on Saturday !
{Ed039's Note - I think the pressure is starting to tell on him, there is quite a bit of distance between GP and the fans now and fan power usually wins in the end, I don't see him at Sunderland next season)

After another abject performance at Spurs looks like we are down. we just didn't try and that's down to the coach why he continually plays Vergini and Bricutt is beyond me!. the fat lady has already sang in my opinion!
1.) A big shout out to all sunderland fans at the lane last night you were brilliant throughout the game these players do not deserve you, as for the game after going 2, 1 down we simply gave up, sorry Gus but your team just stopped trying, got back home from london this morning at around 4. 30 to the wife saying I just don, t know why you bother and after 25 years of marriage that's the first time i, ve agreed with her,! we are going down without a fight just accepting it its going to be a long road back to the premier league given the state the clubs in right now

Scocco signed for us. Finnally! his goal scoring recored is impressive. last season at New Old Boys he scored 24 goals in 34 apperances. and 2 goals on his international debut!. hopefully he can continue that with us!
1.) So did altidores and what he done
2.) Altidore's still a young lad. He's maybe not ready yet to lead the line in a side that has struggled for so long this season but give him time and a bit better circumstances and I still think he'll come good. I still think Wickham could too.

Apperently we are favourites to sign the Argentinian Striker Scocco and well know by Monday or early next week. would be great if we could sign Banega aswell. we need another striker, don't know why Gus doesn't play Borini up front he's wasted on the wing!

Would be brilliant if we pulled of Banega (estimated worth = 25m)
Although I do agree Borini deserves his chance up front, he is not wasted on the wings, he is unreal

Ive Heard DI Fantis gone!. good riddance! he should have gone when Di Canio went!. 14 signings most of them dross!.
1.) That might be true but bizarre time to do it. Either Short will negotiate now or we aren't selling or signing anyone. We also now need a new scout and scouting system!
2.) Bob why mention pdc alongside di fanti it just goes to show what di canio was saying was right that di fanti was bringing players in who he didn't want or thought were not good enough for the club maybe if ellis short had listened to di canio we wouldn't have had all this dead wood floating around the club mate

The display never mind the result was appaling against Bradford and I've supported Gus Poyet but he can't defend his tactics or for him to have a go at the fans . its time to go Gus and for Short to act but who do we get to replace him ?

I see we are planning to do a swap with Celtic for Van Dycke and our Stephen Flecher but they value Fletch at £2million and Van Dycke at £10 million! so I don't know how that's going to work?/. also their are various amounts between £25 and 50 millon for the transfer kitty . probably the truth is somewhere inbetween??
