Just saw that we are looking to swap DEFOE for GOMIS!?!? this is utterly ridiculous, if this happ Es I will not be happy.

Dame n'doye looks nearly confirmed been hearing we are linked with striker called babacar any truh in this for 11 mil aswell.

2.) 12 Jan 2016 00:08:31
£11.2 million? beleive that when it happens! . on the swap i'd rather swap our board with a football knowledged one!

3.) 12 Jan 2016 01:42:44
Altidore mark II.

4.) 12 Jan 2016 15:27:04
I See the Toon are after Shelvey? wish we would go for him but this Poundland scenario is going to get us relegated! does Short really know or care how much the club will lose if we go down?

Is this whole borini saga making anyone else just want to slap poyet and say move on there are others like sow and Abel Hernandez and if you want to make a statement maybe welbeck or man u's Hernandez. wake up poyet he don't want to come.

safc2014

1.) If he want to make a statement he should go and get Falcao or Cavani. about as realistic as Hernandez or Welbeck wanting to come to us!

2.) 08 Aug 2014 14:29:08
I respect Borini's wish to play Champions League but what amounts to disrespecting us is the length of time involved in "taking his decision". It borders on dumb insolence. If he doesn't want to come then have the b@!s to say so, and let's all move on.
PS who says we won't be playing Champions League some day anyway?

3.) 08 Aug 2014 16:14:13
I've had enough now as well!!

He is a 100% player who gives his all in every game but for me he is not worth £14m. I do understand though why Gus would pay this and he knows what he is getting having had last season working with him.

My view is simple. Borini is entitled to stay and fight for a place at Liverpool who will be in Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and the Champions League. Yes they have a squad being put together but there is a good chance he will get game time with Suarez leaving and Remy not signing. However I think he will be used in cup games and maybe on the bench for the others so to me he should want regular first team football.

Therefore, we should remove the offer and move on as his main focus is staying there. If Rodgers has not told him that he won't play then he will not come to us. And if he comes begging at the end of August we should then walk away or make a reduced offer.

4.) 08 Aug 2014 17:55:32
While Borini was a claas above most last season, there is no guarantee he can replicate this form this year. Often young strikers follow a good season with a poor one, and Premier defences have had a look at him now, so he won't find things so easy. Besides, £14m was a lot to offer0- if he was on our books, does anyone think we would be getting $14m offers for him based on his performances so far? Tine to moveon I think- it is turning into another Fletcher saga- and he still owes us most of his fee. What is worrying is that we still seem to have few targets in mind, and once they know who they are the price- and presumably their wage demands- goes up! Surely we could become a little more canny in the transfer market- how many disastrous windows does it take for us to master the basics?

5.) 08 Aug 2014 20:37:10
Most Sunderland supporters feel the same on Borinigate so why doesn't our manager?

6.) I think the thing for me is not the price it's the time let's be honest with ourselves we are not in a position to wait that is Liverpool they are the team with the quality and squad depth to be able to fight for champions league we are the team that needs the player so I would move on I have no
Doubt Brendan Rodgers said 14mil your not in a position to wait take it or leave it IMO leave it and go somewhere else let's not waste time and panic buy

7.) 08 Aug 2014 22:35:46
What bothers me is Borinis heart in the move? we need players who will give 100% and his heart would still be in Liverpool?

8.) Don't worry about Borini's heart being in it. I do some work for the club and believe me the lad is Uber professional. If he signs he'll give it his all in every game he plays. Have no fears whatsoever.

Some reports saying that we have been offered valbuena for 10mil hope this is true but I think he will go to a club in Europe. ed do you know anything?

safc2014

{Ed024's Note - I'd heard he was linked with a move to West Ham but not aware that we were linked with him. He's 30 in September so I'd be surprised if we'd shell out big bucks for him, (he's under contract until the end of the 2017 season)}

1.) The guy is fu**ing fantastic

28 Jun 2014 13:40:41
There is a page of some sort by KFC fans and they made a thing called bye bye borini and said Liverpool look like they are going to accept a 10.5 mil bid
Sooooooo hope this is true

safc2014

1.) He is not worth £10m. I know strikers cost more but he would need to double his goals for last season to convince me.

2.) When was the last time we got a good, proven in England, creative player as good as borini? I can't remember any. I believe he is far better than Johnson and worth the same or more. Would be ecstatic if we pulled this off

3.) I think he's worth it just for his attitude and workrate, he never stops running or gives up. Whenever Borini is on the pitch I always feel he something good will happen

4.) Its not just his goal input. a good striker also is acclaimed for his assists and Borini will create chances for other strikers!

5.) I think some of us are forgetting that he played most of his games on the left. If he can score ten on the wing, I'd love to see what he could do if he played upfront all season. He works hard, he is creative and has an eye for goal. I'd happily pay that much for him.

6.) Its not only he played on the left its also he couldn't fit in our team until later in the season. i'm sure liverpool/his agent were causing a fuss over him not playing so I would like to think he could be our "20 goal a season" player with a proper team feeding him

7.) See Boro are wanting to offload Emmes and another striker to fund a the transfer of Danny Graham!. be interesting what price hell go for. I suspect itll not be more than £2.5 million they are hoping to get for the players they are selling!

8.) Talk in Italy about Alonso about to sign for us in a £2.5 million deal. hope that's true. apparently the Diakiate swap deal isn't part of the deal!. ill beleive it when he signs on the dotted line!

Are these snodgrass and Moses rumours true or false
The Moses one is a loan deal

safc2014

{Ed024's Note - A number of clubs have enquired about Snodgrass - Sunderland being one of them)

1.) Good Player but like Alonso he may chose a London club!.

2.) I really wish alonso would come back

this is probably going to make no sense but I've been thinkiing and putting things together that advocaat said
he said we should spend 40 million on 3 players rather than 6 like we usually do
he also made it clear that he wants to decide the signings and wants 6 quality players
putting them togther I thought he wants to spend roughly around 10-15mil per player, this would mean we would spend around 75-80mil and ellis did promise that he could have a big transfer kitty
i do feel thoough that there is more chance of seeing newcastle win a derby!

safc2014

1.) 05 Jun 2015 16:35:07
Ok. So this means, in reality, we are looking at 3 10million players and a couple of loan deals. Realistically, that's all I expect. But if all these players are quality, and we get rid of some dross, then it's result. Shorts not going to get his pants pulled down again.

2.) 05 Jun 2015 17:42:55
I see we are planning to do a swap with Celtic for Van Dycke and our Stephen Flecher but they value Fletch at £2million and Van Dycke at £10 million! so I don't know how that's going to work?/. also their are various amounts between £25 and 50 millon for the transfer kitty . probably the truth is somewhere inbetween??

3.) 05 Jun 2015 18:13:32
I believe it is a £50 Million War Chest. What would I do with it? Buy the following.

Sam Byram
Virgil Van Dijk
Coates
Clasie (Linked, awesome cm)
Huntelaar (somehow linked, lol)
Brumu (LW Porteguese)

This would probs add up to about £40 so would give us emergency funds in January. My team? 4-4-2

Pantiloom (Gk)
Byram (Rb)
Coates (Cb)
Dijk (Cb)
Van Aanholt (Lb)
Watmore (Rm)
Clasie (Cm)
Cattermole - Captain (cm)
Bruma (Lm)
Defoe (St)
Huntelaar (St)

Or alternatively, we could push Van Aanholt up to LM and buy a new Left Back (Sounds better) I'd also probs loan Wickham out for another season.

Thoughts?

4.) 07 Jun 2015 23:14:57
My thoughts are that of the signings you list Coates is the only likely one.
Huntelaar!!

5.) 08 Jun 2015 07:18:03
Michipper. It is actually realistic with a manager who can persuade them to come here and now it seems we have a decent budget. And Coates the only one? Were heavily last linked with van dijk. And bruma is linked with us every season, just like Sam Byram. Clasie is a possibility. And huntelaar I only through in cause there were no other decent strikers and wed been linked with him.

So they're all possible imo

Why are the mags spending decent money and buying quality and we aren't spending money and only getting average players (at best)??. oh how the tables have turned since last season. I don't like it we need to be getting quality. I mean the mags bought cabella for something like 6mil wich to be realistic for a prem side is average and they got quality why can't we do that?

Lee congerton really seems to what he is doing I like the look of him and he knows where we at bad instead of looking at unessarcerey positions

safc2014

1.) I agree and looks like Poyet and Congleton happy working together which is really important. Both young and with it comes a determination to make it work. i'm quietly confident without letting myself get as excited as last summer. don't think we'll produce any major miracles next season but a solid mid table will do me very nicely indeed.

If lens is going to spit his dummy out after his manager telling him what to do he deserves to be dropped, these a re professional footballers, if we refused to do what our bosses told us they would do the same, he shouldn't get special treatment for being one of our better players.

Well did have us odds on favourite to sign him, we are currently 2nd. either way I really don't think he'd some here and I don't think we're after him despite how much I think he would do great

safc2014

{Ed001's Note - betting odds are not really much of a sign mate. They tend to set up the betting to entice people to bet early doors.}
