Well if we played attacking exciting football they would! With MONs football well be bored to death!. look at the Swansea team they play great attacking footbal and they were in the 2nd divison not that long ago!

Agree5 Disagree4

Mon will probably play fletch and graham from the start next match

Agree3 Disagree5

Theres more chance of me supporting the Mags then MON playing Graham and Fletch together! lol

Agree3 Disagree3

Mid table teams can't afford to play attacking football, yes some commit me forward but they can't do it all the time as they've not got enough quality to survive counter attacks. You're doing well in the league so far, O'neill is a very organised manager. You need better quality players to play attacking football.

Agree6 Disagree5

Cant beive that last post! MON organised?. mid table teams DO play attacking football!. its called playing more time in the final third!. you can't score playing in your own half!

The fans on this site need to get a grip. We lose to arsenal and its the end of the world, how many of you could do a better job than mon? There is no way we are going down we have one of the best keepers in the league and 2 of the best dead ball takers in the league not to mention a striker that has 10 goals already and a tricky pacey attacking midfielder that ties defences in knots on his day. Keep the faith. Safc93

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Remind me- when was his day, I must have missed it! And don't say 'get beat by Arsenal' as if that is something we should expect. We lost at home to ten men from a team that could not win at Norwich, Southampton, Villa, Swansea. And the worst part is that there were signs towards the end that if the team was set up differently and had more ambition it would have got something from the game. The failure was another demonstration that O'Neill's idea of football is a recipe for defeat- too timid, too predictable, and too poorly organised. We have looked best this season chasing lost causes when the team have abandoned the managers 'tactics'- what does that tell you about his competence?

Agree6 Disagree3

So you're telling me you didn't expect to get beat off a champions league team with an inform walcott and wilshire? Safc93

Agree5 Disagree4

I'm telling you that if the players and the manger expect to 'get beat' and set themselves up accordingly, then it is time the manager moved on. And we have gone out most times this season- even at home- set up as if we did not expect to win. If we should not expect to beat Arsenal- even though the likes of Norwich can and do- what is your excuse for the performances against Villa, Middlesbrough, Bolton, West Brom, QPR, etc, Should we not expect to beat them at home either? It won't wash- O'Neill has had more than a season and we are no further forward, Worse, he shows no signs that he knows how to improve either the team or the way he has it playing. Bruce's teams showed more spirit and were better to watch.

Agree3 Disagree2

So what you are saying is that we should beat Arsenal because they didn't beat Southampton and Villa? We beat Man City. Does that now mean that every team Man City plays say "These couldn't win at Sunderland, we should win now. " SAFC93 is right and you know it. I have said ages ago that Mon is the right man for the job and will keep us up. Mon is here to stay and many many supporters agree he should stay. - G

Agree4 Disagree4

Just a shame that what you 'said ages ago' is entirely irrelevant. Yes, hang onto the City result- when we set up as the away team as usual- because that is the only one you can find when the personic tactics worked. Glad you are happy with one decent result per season- I understand now why you support one-result O'Neill- he is the same! If I think back, we have always had good support, and mostly had poor management. It is touching that you think the supporters faith can compensate for the managers lack of skills- never seemed to in the past, and it won't now either. He is a very limited manager, repeating the same simple mistakes, too old and stubborn to learn. We will always struggle while he is in charge, because he is not up to the job. But if staying up, no matter what rubbish we see on the park is what you want, fair enough. Personally I prefer to see us try to play football.

Agree5 Disagree3

We are so sick of your rediculous pontificating posts. Our only hope is that when (yes when) MON gives us 'his' team - next season now, a successful team and one that we can all be proud of, you will finally go away and stop blighting this forum with your anti-O'Neill drivell.

Dear THE LOADMOUTH HAVIN A GO AT MON

I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU DO BETTER.
Bruces teams may have been more exiting but it wound up dropping us to 19th.

i've know more civilised mags than you.

find faith

Agree5 Disagree5

I'm not just praising that 'one result' there have been many were MoN has set up his side and stuck with it which has ended up in 3 points. Man City, Fulham, West Ham, Wigan, Reading. and we have performed brilliantly but only came off with a poor result like Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton. so please you MON hater, if you are a real fan you'd support the manager when he needs everybody's support but if you only want glory go and support a Manchester team. - G

Agree3 Disagree2

I see that your response to argument and those who do not accept your speculative bluster is rudeness. And characteristically, anyone who does not accept your assertions about 'O'Neill the saviour' is abused and labelled a Mag. Well, when you get the dummy back, calm down, finish reading the Beano and then go out and with the other three year-olds. And as for the SHOUTING latecomer
(I would point out that shouting LOUDMOUTH is somewhat ironic, but I suspect subtlety is beyond you) Bruce's record overall compares well with O'Neill's. Keep calm children, it is only a game; a few people make an obscene living from it, many more take some pleasure from watching it. But there has been little pleasure watching this team, so I think we deserve a little more entertainment, and need to show a little less blind faith.

Agree1 Disagree1

Please, please, please - spare us your misguided eloquence, it's boring. You will never be happy if you perceive you have not been 'entertained'. I was thoroughly entertained on Saturday and got value for my entrance fee. An Arsenal masterclass in possession and passing followed by 45 minutes where the only thing missing was a bugle reveille.

During a transitional period (which SAFC are most certainly in) any manager worth his salt will utilise his resources to best advantage. If that means sometimes grinding out results and playing a counter attacking style, then so be it. The consequences of failure in this division are simply too great to contemplate.
So Mr. MONK, if you want to be assured of constant entertainment while watching the finished article, may I politely suggest you head down to Old Trafford on a Saturday - you will find a ground full of followers just like you, and leave the supporting to people like us.

Agree2 Disagree1

Or to be accurate, a bugle reveille and a couple of goals.

Agree2 Disagree0

On the contrary, Old Trafford is full of fans as myopic as yourself, who believe the success of their team- however dubious the tactics- in some way makes them more important too. But I have no interest in arguing with you; the clear fact is that O'Neill's record is poor whether or not you believe in his ability to improve on it, and however often you assert he will come good, none of those poor results will change. You keep your faith, I will continue to look at evidence. And if you want a forum where only those who SHOUT SUPPORT for whatever dross is served up can express their views, I suggest you start your own website.

Agree1 Disagree0

If you want O'Neil out so much who would we get in?
