Has Gus Poyet pushed the fans too far after an abject performance against one of our relegation rivals the for the 2nd time having a go at the fans ?

I think Gus Poyet would make a good manager for Aston Villa.

if the unimaginable happens at the weekend i think gus will throw the towel in. wether that's a good thing or not i'm not sure, but i know one thing if he stands by these players the trapdoor will open and we will go down quicker than an albert pierrepoint victim.

Everyone is pointing the finger at Poyet here but I think last night was mainly down to the players!! Gomez in particular was atrocious and should have been subbed after 10 minutes!!

Defoe led the line well and made run after run after run without a single passing finding him.

The two goals both came down our left where PVA was left exposed as Gomez was useless and Wickham, as we have all been banging on about for 6 months, was actually up front supporting Defoe instead of tracking back and defending. We can't have it both ways!!

I would also point the finger at Vergini who is always out of position at CB and should have picked up both players who scored (and Ki on Saturday) Putting my neck on the line if Brown had started alongside JOS I think all three goals (Sat and last night) would have been stopped.

Poor performance so we move on and hope Alvarez, who oozes quality, retains a place in the starting eleven.

Poyet picks the team! Everyone knows that Van Anholt is great going forward but needs cover when defending. Also if fit Brown is our best defender. Gomez and Bridcutt are Poyet signings. Neither is good enough for Premier but Cattermole has been injured so there has been little choice. I have advocated trying Agnew or Honeyman in central midfield. Although I dislike the system we may need to put Wickham back on the left to provide the defensive cover.

Keith moving Wickham goes back to what everyone has moaned on about with lack of attacking mentality and options!! The issue against QPR was Gomez who is simply not fast enough and does not defend. If you has Larsson x 2 there would not have been any issues. Maybe time like you say to blood Agnew instead of Gomez.

I disagree about Bridcutt however as he had deputised for Catts quite well but will be dropped when Catts returns.

I would possibly look at playing AJ and Alvarez behind Defoe to pick passes rather than high balls to Wickham / Fletcher.

GN -I agree with what you are saying but until Cattermole and Rodwell are fit we need cover on the left.Revellierre (?) is now injured or I might suggest him at LB with Van Anholt moving to LW. I do not like playing out of position but sometimes needs must. I lke the idea of Alvarez and Johnson playing behind Defoe as long as all three move about - bit like Liverpool front 3.

GNSAFC what about now ??? not Poyets fault ?

I'm afraid you're right and Mr Poyet is now starting to look at fault with tactics and team set up. He blames too much on other factors and not subbing until 4 minutes before the end yesterday was terrible!!
