Gutted for Wigan I like Wigan and Martinez, they play good football better than us. Its also refreshing to see a small club winning trophies and spending 8 seasons in the top division.
People disrespect Wigan for having small support etc but you have to look at the facts, they have come a long way from the lower leagues, they are a small town and not only have to compete for fans from the Manchester clubs, Liverpool clubs, Lancashire clubs they also have to compete with Wigan Warriors rugby club.
Good luck to them hope they get straight back up, they have won a cup something the northeast would kill for. They are also in the Europa.
But now we can plan for next season and the Paolo di Canio Revolution begins.
I'm exited now can't wait for next season.

Maloney flopped at villa maybe he is only good at a small club like wigan, plus he is a poor mans sessegnon. As for kone there is much better strikers out there.
They won the fa cup not the champions league, Apart from beating man city the only decent team they beat was everton so hardly says they have a strong squd and team. Plus they were relegated for a reason the players are not good enough.
No ambition mate, we should not be looking at wigans flops.
Larsson and gardener won the carling cup with birmingham before they were relegated. they have been hit and miss
Kone has single handedly led the Wigan front line all season, fair enough Maloney wasn't great at villa but he has been a class act all season. I agree we can't limit ourselves to British based players but I see people getting excited about guidetti and viana neither of which have proven themselves at a high level yet you mention two players who have stood out in a side who have missed out on survival by the skin of their teeth and its poo pooed. If I was to mention benteke, weimann, Lambert etc all of whom play for sides only slightly better off than Wigan the feeling would be different. We rave about sess yet we could potentially only finish one point above Wigan, does that make him useless, no.

We only finished just above wigan because of injuries and we didn't have a manager untill march. We have better players than wigan. Wigan players are not good enough to improvre our squad. Maloney is a decent player in a poor team he was rubbish at villa and looks good in a poor wigan team. kone is decent but not as good as fletcher. I would be gutted if we signed ANY wigan players. Relegated for a reason they are not good enough. Also guidetti may be a risk worth taking had you heared of benteke and he is awesome.
Mcmanaman is a risk too he could be another mclean.

That reasoning makes no sense, you don't want Wigan players as they were relegated yet you would take qpr players?! Football is a squad game, who do we have pushing sees for his place, nobody, Maloney would do that, and either of those sat behind kone and fletch would be a great front three. As I said Maloney wasn't great at villa, but Henry wasn't great at juventus, pique and forlan were garbage at utd. One bad spell with one club doesn't make a bad player. I can't think of one player in our squad who has played with the determination those two guys have shown. You can have all the skill you like in the squad but without a will to win it means nothing look at qpr.

Listen wigan and qpr are different situations.
Qpr have been mismanaged redknapp came in to late, qpr have some talented players better thank Maloney kone etc.
Samba, cesar, taarabt, hoilet, Townsend (loan), remy, djibril cisse, good players under the right manager, not saying I want any of them at sunderland but I would rather have them than wigan rubbish.
Where would Malonye play? Replace sessegnon, Johnson no he wouldn't. Maloney is suited to Scottish football or a team like wigan as is kone. Who is just another odemwingie type of player.
Those three may be of a different class but the principle still applies, I guess well just have to agree to disagree but i'm tipping kone to be a success wherever he's at next year

As a relative Neutral (Mag in Peace) I really hope Wigan win tonight just to keep the last game of the season interesting.

Any predictions for the Wigan game?
Hoping Arsenal 2 Wigan 0, think they might just do it!
2-1 to Wigan have a bad feeling we might go down after I thought we were safe after them 2 wins against Everton and Newcastle
Arsenal to do us a favour in return we'll beat spurs for them, haha, listen it's out of our hands the good thing is arsenal need to win, if they don't and we go down no one can't say we havnt had our chances and we'll deserve it. but I personally think we'll be ok, bring on next season regroup and hopefully it won't be as nervous this one.
If wigan beat arsenal then good luck to them as they will have deserved it. that means we have to go to spurs and get a draw.

I was at the Saints game and it was crap 1st half. slight improvement 2nd half. I sat in row 8 about 15 seats from right hand goal post. All I could hear was some person who looked like a drug addict in a grey hoodie top shouting at Graham from start to finish. With muppets like this you can understand him being nervy when he had the ball at his feet and a chance to shoot.
Bet the so called fan would have jumped all over if he had scored, so what the lad is from Newcastle, its what he does for SAFC that counts. Give him a chance next season if he is still here, I think he will stay and start scoring.
PDC will come good next season, he's got us 8 points in 6 games which will be enough as Wigan will lose against Gooners. Could anyone see MON getting us anymore points at all if he stayed. I could'nt.

We won't need to make a loss on him because we won't sell him. Graham is a footballer not a 'head the ball'. Once PDC sorts us out over the summer and next season and gets us to play actual football - Graham will score goals in a decent team of 'other' footballers. wouldn't that be nice. Football played at SOL. Never seen that!
