15 Aug 2012 23:13:55
To al you na sayers calling oneil worse than rubbish because we haven't signed messi let me remind you sunderland is a stepping stone for players that are not happy were they are they come have a good season then go mon will bring players who want to play for him not sunderland he will get the player at the right price and the right time it don't matter who plays sat are you expecting a win wait till next month when he's got his player and got rid of clare baldwins ( steve bruces) crap then judge him most of rumours on here are kids on ther holidays with nothing better to do I agree commons would be a good player also if saha is signed why not bring lord quinn back as target man . Keep the faith its all good mon knows what he's doing

Believable2 Unbelievable1

What on earth is all that about!! cripes.have a word with yourself. nobody is asking for messi. you forget it was oniell who PROMISED "QUALITY NOT QUANTITY" still waiting with 2 weeks of window left

No news of Saha deal at all on SSN. That's the second "done deal" we've made according to you people. Fletcher yesterday and now Saha...

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Eat your words.

Jeez.

So I just going to come out and say it ...... Oneil I'm not impressed at all mr short you wanted Europe well mate that means spending cash not freebies , to the Sunderland scouts you need to be sacked ,Saha is not the answer or even usefull back up he is injury prone and pants . We put all our eggs in one basket with fletcher why , all safc fans know we need strikers that are gunna score at least 15 goals so what the f(? K is going on

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Saha is injury prone, but hardly pants.
Give the club a chance, there is still two weeks to go.
Most deals are completed in the last few days of the transfer window.
Stop being so negative,
If we dont sign anyone else before the window closes I will apologise, will you?
I somewhat doubt it.

Jeez.

Since the rumour of Saha signing, Ladbrokes have cut the odds of relegation from 14/1 to 11/1 !!!!! Dont believe me? Then check. Cant argue either.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

So considering that there is 11 teams with shorter odds than us for relegation, and the odds always become shorter closer to season start as more bets are taken, you always get bigger odds on post betting, im happy with 11-1 as there 6 teams on less than 2-1 and rest on 6-1 so the bookies think we will finish 9th after no transfers, qpr 5-1 after all there signings, so 2 weeks to go,and so called fans are upset

Agree0 Disagree0

So what about the odds of 1/2 defoe signing for safc, and 4/5 adam johnson signing, if a drop from 14-1 to 11-1 alarms you, get your life savings on these,if bookies odds rule ya brain

Can anyone confirm saha has signed also would any one not fancey kris commons from on the wrong side of glasgow

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Agree0 Disagree0

After the signings of Cuella (30) and Saha (34) Mon is now chasing Ian Rush to see if he fancies another crack at the premier league.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

15 Aug 2012 21:42:16
Saha looks pretty certain, now on SSN. Ya can't complain when he's on a free, would prefer another striker with Saha used as cover though !

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Can complain mate this is crazy

Agree3 Disagree3

15 Aug 2012 21:38:00
Mon better be watching this england game!, get Defoe now, we need him,he's got pace and and cracking shot!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Not much chance of Defoe- or Milner or Johnson after tonight I fear. The better they play, the less chance they will head north.

Agree1 Disagree1

For the last time no good players will come to sunderland for 50k a week. we wont pay any more wages than that. simple

Agree0 Disagree0

Defoes goalscoring is about 1 in 3. Same as Sahas

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 21:36:29
Good signing saha will help the young lads at the club ie. Ji noble campbell wickham and oneill did say he wanted an experienced forward at the club for that reason.he will also give us another option against arsenal and another week to get other players in.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

About the most sensible post on here mate we need someone with experiance to bring the young lads on dont think fletcher could offer much advice to noble ji or wickham

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 21:36:12

Agree1 Disagree0

Welbeck signed a new 80k a week contract so guess he,s not...

Agree1 Disagree0

He's just signed a new contract worth 75 grand a week so no chance..

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he has, just fantasy really. Hernandez could be a shout tho, can't see him gettin used much now

Agree1 Disagree0

Fergie has always publicly said that he likes 4 top class strikers on the books

sunderland should sign Jordon Rhodes scored tonight for scotland. 6 mill thats all huddersfield want and he only 22.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I'd do a swap him for wickham

Agree3 Disagree1

Worth a punt better than wasting 15m on fletcher. rhodes will only get better

Agree0 Disagree0

Id swap my gran for wickham

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn only offered 2mill

Forget £15m Fletcher-
Go for Guidetti £6m
and Paco Alcacer £8m
a strike force for the future.
Or Moses £9m and Nzonzi £6m- for a midfield with bite and creativity.

Saha has finally left the hospice after struggling on his zimmer frame to come to the sol. Quality Mr. O'neil? Why make pathetic statements if you knew all along it was anyone and numbers you were after. Not happy. safc1973

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Will you plz take the safc out of your name cos ppl mite think ur a sunderland supporter !!!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Stop your moaning man and get behind them all

Agree1 Disagree0

This lads an embarresment to sunderland all he does is twist and his rumours are crap just glad i dont have a season ticket next to him

Agree2 Disagree0

Ya rite there mate im sick of hearing his whinging ! sess is a 1 season wonder . he doesnt rate mcgeady , fletcher . saha etc etc . i think hes dyslectic nd gets his letters mixed up i think his real name is nufc1973 !

We should get Mario gotze on loan the german kid he's 19 yrs old he's class

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Yeah why don't we get that young argentinian lad from barce too, messi I think he's called. Get a grip son

Agree4 Disagree1

Some people are just so negative it's you that needs to get a grip mate

Agree0 Disagree0

No its people like you who lose managers their jobs, O'Neill stands no chance what so ever if he is expected to be bringing in world class players that the top European clubs are after. I am Sunderland through and through but even I know players are gonna pick lots of clubs before us, so before you spout your mouth off take a step back into the real world pal. We are Sunderland, win or lose, love us or hate us.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 17:34:01
I have a lot of faith in Martin O'neill and everyone else behind the scenes at Sunderland but I can't help but be a little worried about the lack of transfer activity so far this summer. People may completely disagree but I think we are in desperate need of a 20 goal a season striker (obviously), maybe even two strikers, a left back which we have needed for about 3 years, and another decent midfielder to provide a rest bite for Sess and competition for Colback and Cattermole. Any thoughts? Anyone got any rumours?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

20 goal a season strikers are hard to find foe epl....fletcher is not one of them

Agree1 Disagree0

20 goals a season in premiership think we need phillips back

Sunderland are signing louis Saha to take the pressure of the Steven fletcher saga and our striker problem (prin£y)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

He will be arriving tomorrow for talks Saha and Lozza up front on Saturday get in

If we dont sign a striker i dont care i will be at the SOL singing my heart out throught the sunshine, freezing snowing days or downpours i live, sleep and breathe sunderland! come on o'neil lets have europe soon! BIG ZAC MAC!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Won't get Europe without scoring goals..

Agree1 Disagree0

Good on ya mate. Dave 100% mackem

Agree2 Disagree0

Wont get Europe full stop.

Agree1 Disagree0

We won't get Europe at all, will people please get realistic. And before you jump down my throat I said realistic not pessimistic, haway the lads, you could finish bottom and I would still keep the red flag flying high

Everyone calm down and take a reality check. We are Sunderland as one & we are quibbling about why we haven't bought anyone. Fabrice Muamba has made a statement he will never be able to play agiain. What a shame. Get a grip & support the lads no matter what!

Anita had medical at Newcastle today and we got no chance of getting most of those. Not sure where you copied and pasted that list from but get in the real works!

Agree1 Disagree0

You can tick off Anita from your list of 'potential' signings.
That list should read 'players we'd love, but would never dream of coming to us'.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 12:42:51
Sunderland will not buy any players this week. All press talk at present. And all speculations.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Is that why Saha is having a medical right now? Hmmm

A mate from work just told me he has a mate in the press and he has told him that we have had a 14mill bid accepted. Beleive as much or as little as you want just thought id share it. Personally hope its not TRUE he is worth no more that 7-8 mill. Would rather pay 14 for toivonen and 10 for Defoe and pay the extra for QUALITY like what Mon was supposedly going after.

my predictions foe next season
out of both cups in the first games we play in them and 15 in prem league. this being because we finished 13 last year and we have a WEAKER squad now while all teams around and below are getting STRONGER. thats a fact by the way not an opinion

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Give us a list of the players signed by clubs around us last season everton stoke fulham norwich swansea aston villa to name a few i am curious to see how they have strengthened their squads mate and then i might get worried

Team for arsenal match
Gk. mignolet
Rb. Gardner
Lb. richardson
Cb. Oshea
Cb. Cuallar
Rm. larsson
Cm. cattermoll
Cm. colback
Cm. vaughan
Lm. Mcclean
Cf. campbell

Looks like arsenal 5 sunderland 0. Bottom of table on saturday night

Believable4 Unbelievable2

No room for sess there mate dont think that is a bad line up like all other sunderland fans we know we are missing a goal scorer

Agree1 Disagree0

Vaughan still recovering from hernia surgery- not back training. If Sess not recovered will have to be Elmo. Given Wickham also unavailable and Ji not back yet, God knows who will be on the bench. Only Bramble, Kilgallon and Meyler to choose from!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great side. Nearly the same who beat them in the cup muppet. Ha way the lads.

Agree0 Disagree3

Vaughan is injured so scratch that team ! 0-0 on Sat mate.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2012 08:55:29
We have known for 18 months that we need a striker and the best weve got is paying 7 m over the odds for fletcher? Time tomsack the scouts and bring in new ones. What the hell have they been doing for a YEAR AND A HALF

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Same opinion mate

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 01:10:19
The SSN app says poxy moxey reckons they've knocked back a bid from an unnamed club for Fletch, clearly tryin to get us to make a higher bid, got a few things to say about him but then ED won't post this haha

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Aug 2012 22:46:03
If we do sign fletcher i will be at the sol on the 25th august cheering him on! If mon believes hes the man to do the job the who the hell are any of us to argue? People saying he is clueless are so far from the truth! He is no mug thats why we havent signed anyone for money yet unlike keane who wasted loads. Remember tore andre flo and marcus stewart? Panic buys! Mon knows who he wants and if he cant get him then im happy he isnt going to waste the money just for the sake of it. It may take years but i believe in mon and ellis short and a few fickle fans should remember what there saying now when we are pushing for europe in 5 years time max! Keep the faith lads! Would love to see us sign emilio izzaguire from celtic please mon go and sign him! Also heard a rumour from my mate who is in the development squad that we have approached micheal owen and he is considering us aswell as other offers! He wouldnt lie about it so thought i would share it with fellow mackems. How would fans feel about him?

Cheers ed

Dave the mackem

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I dont think Owen would put the effort in

Agree0 Disagree2

Owen will always score goals. I'd have him on a pay as you play deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

Marcus stewart did well for us you cant compare him to flo

Agree1 Disagree0

Owen has been overpaid and crap since he was 20 was a one trick pony doesn't even have that now

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of old codswallop mate. Wont offer stupid money? 15m for average striker is stupid my friend.how can we be in europe in 5 years if we cant sign decent players? Please think about what you are saying. Wow michael owen he will get us 5 goals next season while spending most of it on injury table and training horses. One MASSIVE struggle ahead

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like Owen at the club any chance he gets he will put it away

Agree0 Disagree0

He wud be reading the racing post during training,so no do not want him at all.tk73

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he has a good goalscoring record when he's not on the treament table. Also he's more interested in his horses now.
