Young players have quality and players don't know where to go as they don't see them play. Whatmore is quality, Mandron is quality put them in but buy quality. Please Ellis I love this club sooooo much. I will do anything for it and I cannot bear it anymore. Fix it please.

Feel Van Aanholt should be dropped and get Alonso in now. We need to act now before other teams get quality and were left with Bargain basement players. Van Aanholt's confidence was shot down by comments by Jamie Carragher. Feel he need time on the bench for a few games. We the fans should own the club we would show ambition.

well that's the worst performamce I have seen from a sunderland team in a long time cattermole was so bad its hard to consider him a footballer his lack of leadership as captain was abysmal also he can't pass a ball 10 yards and when he does get it to a player he always seems to drop them in it and we have to put up with him for another 5 years. van arnholt needs dropping for his own good the lads confidence is shot he tries when going forward but watching him today I couldn't believe his lack of efffort in tracking back absolute garbage. jones well I don't know who watched him when we signed him as the lad is never premiership material poor all round. coates and kaboul pulled all over the place looked worse than sunday morning pub players though I can sayone thing in their defence of the long ball tactics today its because we didn't have anyone in the centre of midfield I couldn't believe how easy it was for norwich players to boss the game but if they had no one to challenge them in midfield then that's what mage them look good and if we play like that against swansea we will get embarresed. I see that a few people were having a dig at fletcher and i'm not a fan of his but the lad is a poacher like defoe not a hold up player and if all he gets for the rest of the season is long balls like today then I wouldn't dount on him or defoe hitting double figures between them. larsson I felt sorry for he gave his 110% as usual but he has no pace and is well past his sell by date. on the bright side the 2 new lads mvilla and lens look like they will come on a lot when they get match fitter but unless we bring in some 3 or 4 players don't expect to much from them as they are playing with some bad players and finally whatmore even though we got beat it was good to see someone who wanted to run at players and take them on and cap it off with a goal I kust hope his performance will make advocatt look at playing more youth next week if he has the balls if we don't sign anyone by next week I would like to to see him him play coates lb matthews rb kaboul and o'shea in the centre in midfield lens and m'villa in the middle with whatmore on the right and gooch on the left upfront with graham as your target man and defoe/fletcher given a free role around the box and the likes of robson agnew mandron amd honeyman on the bench so come on dick let's see some changes as some of the players you are playing have seen 2 or 3 managers sacked over recent years if you don't want to become a failure and end up as number 4 grow some balls

Sorry but I know we all like to see changes but how about giaccarini? Even though I wasn't a whickham fan how can you sell a player and not replace him?

17 Aug 2015 22:21:45
some managers have favs and i'm afraid giaccherini isn't one of dicks which is madness as he is one of those players who can change a game as for signing someone to replace wickham I don't think its going to happen mate

One goal from a corner played short, only one defender came out. Basic f.ing defending you learn at school to have two defenders come out. 2nd goal a throw in , van arrholt and Kabul not watching when it was taken. Basic f.ing defending you learn at school. I'm angry I went today but I won't go again unless several quality signings are made. Kabul has no left foot Coates is as slow as a tortoise. Cattermole looks extremely one paced as does laarson. Fletcher didn't win a header as Kabul constantly pumped the ball 50 yards each time. Defoe looked lost. Mvila looks decent. Jones out of depth van arrholt isn't a defender he needs to play further up. In my estimation we need £150 million pounds to spend in the next two weeks. We won't spend 10

We have to invest heavily now. We can get a return on the TV deal so this season is huge for us. Go for Hernandez and Austin and offer them big money. This is what Short must do. We would get a return on wage as for the deal. Tell them they would be our main players for the season and would be huge for us. But Marcus Alonso and De sciglio on loan if we can and get Fabian Schar an offer him good money and get Jonny Evans and try and get januzaj on loan and a solid midfielder. Ellis you must invest is similar quality players at least try and offer good money and persuade them. If you don't invest your an idiot Mr Short. Lol
GK: Pantiliomon
RB: De sciglio
CB: Schar
CB: Evans
LB: Alonso
CM : M'Villa
CAM/CM: januzaj or rodwell
ST: Hernandez
ST: Austin

All the defenders on our books are rubbish apart from beadling and tommy robson. Clear the rest out and get byram, evans, van dijk, and alonso. I doubt if pants will mind those 4 infront of him. Watmore, m'vila, giachy and lens infront of them. Austin and hernandez up front

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 20:29:40
Good luck with that, even if we had the transfer funds to get them all, we couldn't afford their wages at all. There's no way to get the junk we have on the wage bill off it as simply nobody will buy them. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place right now, and it'll be a good few seasons till half our team is out of contract and gone.

Wyndrusher I totally agree with you. Your post is the harsh reality. I just wanted the feel good factor with my post. that's about as close as we will get to having a decent team. FANTASY

Wyndrusher, But this is what it's come too we must pay there sky high wages as we would get a return on the money and Ellis Short has to really invest much more because we need to stay in the division. He had to try and buy some of these players not all of them because that's the type of side we should have. But we have the deadwood

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 06:57:18
Must pay? we just can't. We don't have the wage bill to manage much more and that's part of the problem. Consecutive managers have brought average players here and given them contracts that are way too high for their skill, this mixed with lower income, higher debts and the fact that half the stadium now is filled with people on free tickets truly hamper our ability to get anyone in. It'll take a good long time to get this sorted, and I just don't think the people in charge are brave enough to do it as it would probably end in relegation and a year or two of complete rebuilding. Our coaching staff need to be fired & completely replaced, most of the main team as well.

16 Aug 2015 18:42:28
Wyndrusher, I agree why doesn't the club learn if you sign players for 1-3 million they will be deadwood and we give them high wages since short bough the club we should have a team like this but we don't. 250 million pound wasted except a few players really.

SAFC Man of The Match is Duncan Watmore gets out goal and impressed. Bring more youth in next game he must start next game. Good enough to be a starter for sure. Well done Duncan.

So far 0-2 to Norwich. So ****ing **ssed off. Watching online again and why should I. It's a waste of time. I used to go to every game but what's the point going to a game where you see the opposition dominate. Van aanholt is just no a left back. Jamie Carragher was right even though Advocaat disagreed. No effort no nothing. Is Advocaat even committed. Why would you appoint a 67 year old for a season. IMO if short doesn't invest. He must consider selling. Don't say he's done a lot for us by keeping us in this league. He's been lucky with us staying up. These are games we have to win. Next game don't waste your money. Protest. That way they might consider. Safc boardroom need a clear out. They don't care about the fans. No one in the Sunderland hierarchy does all they care is about is $. Look what Bill Kenwright did a Everton. Took them from relegation to champions league they came down to top 6 I know they are doing well right now. That the type of owner we need someone who wants to take us forward. A wealthy Arab would also do for me too lol. But we need a big change. Protest is the only way

I said the same earlier in the week and got hammered as not being a true fan. No doubt those people may want to eat their words. True to my word I didn't go and waste my money. Some of these players are on 50 k a week if not more! I said earlier I am an advocate of boycotting the games. It's the only way the fans can have their voice heard.

I have been raving all through the match on my twitter page, tweeted 'Hope Watmore does well and scores now he is on'. The lad goes on does it, not only that. He was the only (parden my French) fucking player to applaud the fans, 'Are you watching Ellis Short' won't change anything, as stated above all the club cares about is money, not spending it, the other way around. If we don't invest at least another 20-30 million we are relegated. I for one don't blame Advocaat, disagree or agree with me I don't mind but I blame the players, It doesn't matter if we had Schteve Mclaren, Gus Poyet again or even Ancelotti or Jose Mourinho. We would still suffer, why? The board. Simple, they won't spend, and as I said a while ago for my first post, 'Congerton is raking his arse and counting sheep' - He still is!

Hopefully Short listens and spends. I suspect he told a few porkies to Dick to get him to come back, perhaps the fact that we would have a substantial transfer budget and we would be able to move on the dross.

Dick stated a while ago that we need to sell before we can buy. We have no chance in hell of selling after the Leicester game, only reinforced by this match.

What on earth is going on at our club, heard all the talk pre season all the names getting bandied about pretty much seemed to guarantee us the fans would renew our season tickets, then we hear its not as straight forward as we were led to believe, that the club was still paying for players no longer at the club, the pre season buys who we did manage to bring to the club seem to be more deadwood and haven't improved US at all,if the alarm bells weren't ringing last week they must be blaring right now, make no bones about it lads this team is getting relegated what puzzles me is if we the fans can see it why oh why can,t the manager, the board and most importantly MR SHORT

I walked out before the end, just gutted I missed duncans goal. But that's it for me lads, I have finished with going to watch that *hite. I challenge all of you to give me something positive that I can take away from that game. Apart from duncan wattmore. We are where we deserve to be, rock bottom. I hope the players are ashamed of themselves as professionals.

Not even half time and I can't resist the temptation to write another post. Well as predicted here we go again. We aren't going to win anything with the same squad as 3 years ago bar a couple of average signings. As we continue to struggle I can see the prices and wages going up and up as we are held to ransom by agents and players we may want. What a monumental cock up our management team have been.

Team prediction/hopes for Norwich?
I'd go something like:
Pantilimon
Matthews. Kaboul. O'Shea. PVA

Rodwell. Cattermole

Lens. Giaccherini

Defoe. Fletcher

Bench: mannone, Coates, M'Vila, larsson,
Watmore (🙏), Mandron (Why not?), Graham
Couldn't decide between catts or seb, so went for who I think would be most likely.

Pantillimon

Matthews. Coates. O'Shea. PVA.
M'Vila. Cattermole.
Watmore. Giaccherini. Lens
Fletcher/Mandron (On fire)

Bench: Mannone. Kaboul. Larsson (Sub at 60th min). Defoe (If doesn't go to plan go to 4-4-2). Graham. Rodwell. Fletcher/Mandron

I know it won't happen but this team has a balance between defense and attack, more counter attacking with 4 offensive players. I would be very interested to see how this team would pan out
