Just heard on the Radio that Patrick Vieira has been promoted to a more lucrative job at Man C. I did not know he has been at the club for over 2 years. Now I remember this excuse for a human being actually jumping up over a bunch of players to spit on an opponent. How low will morals go in the football world. I must be living in a time warp because he and plenty other people involved in football are worse than the stuff you scrape off your shoe, yet they continue to get barrow loads of money. I really must be out of touch with this moral thing. Chris-s.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I really dunno - perhaps we may even one day find a facist person that once pushed over a referee in charge of a football team. {Ed024's Note - We just might}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not quite sure what Viera does at Man City.

Apart from get paid millions to make the odd comment defending Man City in the media.

Di canio is head coach, therefore he has no say in players coming in, he can only recommend. He commands on which players go out but he only works with what's in front of him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has said to Ellis that he needs the big cash for 6 new faces this summer

Agree0 Disagree0

He has said in an interview he is in full control of transfers

Agree0 Disagree0

Can see a few Italians heading our way with Di Canio in charge

I have just enjoyed my 47th birthday, and Sunderland are about to complete their 6th successive season in the top flight. By my reckoning that's the longest run in my life time. Am I celebrating?

I can't believe how many optimists there are on this page. Next season will be another struggle because that's what we do. MoN had the best cv of any manager we've ever had and look what happened. Just look at our squad, how good is it, is it really going to be rebuilt over the summer? Being a Sunderland fan is hard hard work.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All your glasses must have been half full at the celebration.
Please get over the depression over getting old.

Agree0 Disagree0

You actually speak sense my friend. Sunderland won't have a clearout but you will bring in a few faces like roberge and sell people like mignolet and bramble. You will settle for 15th-11th next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Canio WILL change the mentality of these players or he'll change the players! If you are in any doubt over his hunger for success or his ruthless drive to achieve it, I suggest you read his autobiography which charts his life up to and including his time at West Ham.
One way or another, the Sunderland side that kicks off in August will be unrecognisable to this one. Who was the last manager we had who arrived at work at 7. 00 am and left after 10. 00 pm every night? This fella makes Lance Armstrong look like a pussy cat!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nearly every manager arrives at work at 7am and leaves at 10pm

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet said that if we stay up, he will stay

Agree0 Disagree0

'Nearly every manager arrives at work at 7am and leaves at 10pm'

Absolute tosh. PDiC is putting in more hours in a week (both on and off the pitch) than some Premier League managers do in a month.

Anecdotal evidence would suggest our previous leader was not quite as fastidious.

I hope a lot of players don't leave in the summer. our squad is small to start with so we can't afford to let players go left right and center, we should get rid of ji, elmo, bramble, killgallon, brown, bardsley and maybe catts (liability as he is always prone to red cards). keep the rest and buy quality to build on what we have so we have a quality team as well as squad depth. safc93

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's seven out therefore another 9 needed at least as 2 loans will return to their clubs. Need 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and another forward. All who come will be able to use the ball instead of just hoofing it up the field. Anyone who thinks PDC will have no say in this are not living in the real world. I believe he will be given a list of players that matches Short's new long term financial plan. ie Young and talented and PDC will get the final choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

So pleased your not the manager I don't care if we have a small side next season i'd rather a small squad with quality than a big squad with championship players i'd have the biggest clear out the Prem has ever seen, then hopefully Paolo can bring in some quality that Bruce O'Neill etc couldn't.

Out Keep
Gardner Mignolet
McClean Sessegnon
Larsson Fletcher
Bardsley Cattermole
Kilgallon Westwood
Ji N'Diaye
Wickham Vaughan
Colback Johnson
Mangane
Cuellar
Brown
O'Shea
Elmohamady
Bramble

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it's 7 going but brown ji and elmo haven't played this season so we're only 4 players worse off. Agree with you that we need about 8 or 9 players in. Reports in the media say we're close to signing 2 free transfers so that should help us abit. Safc93

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly you think you will get 9 players? NINE?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done original post I have been saying for ages we need to improve the squad not decimate it. its a good job we are going to spurs safe as we have only 12 first team squad players to choose from. small squads usually end up relegated so let's keep majority of our players and add a few.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would keep, O'Shea, he's done alright

Agree0 Disagree0

Colback is a keeper in my eyes can't get rid the lad gives his all and is showing signs of quality the older he gets

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will pdc let catt's go, as well as ability, he has all the passion and tenacity on the pitch that pdc wants. O'shea has been different class too, worse side when he's not playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about rose

Agree0 Disagree0

Def keep colback people just get off the kids back

Agree0 Disagree0

The post is talking about our present squad, who to keep, who to let go. Rose isn't our player, but I would love to have him at the club, hope we spend the money on him.

Just seen on the Sky site morning paper talk that Ashley has been stating that the barcodes are after Wayne Rooney! Now Mike lad put your fat head back in that cattle truck and off to graze some grass not smoke it! SGB Cats forever

RAW74!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was on Sports direct News and they have apologized for doing it. Guessing an alternate reason for doing it was nobody has every heard of SPD but now people are talking about it. Nothing like free advertising. Take your head of the cattle truck and think about it. SMB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley said no such thing.

Why lie?

Agree0 Disagree0

The Mags get linked wwith big names every window and the fans fall for it every time. Last big name signing was
Owen ha ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean like Cavani? person

Agree0 Disagree0

What big name do we get linked with? Not like your superstars you keeping linking yourselves with. Cavani and Ledwanski being the latest. Deluded.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland have never enquired about cavani and never contacted dortmund over lewandowski same for Newcastle over rooney.

Agree0 Disagree0

The mags spent all their money in jan on panick buys. where our BILLIONAIRE owner will not want a repeat of last seasons dross football. Expect a lot of new faces to thrash the french bottlers again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt it.

Expect a draw against Tottenham with Mignolet and a few others performing out of their skins.

The few (there ain't many) good players at Sunderland are looking for moves away and will put in a big performance as a last chance to be put in the shop window.

Expect Mignolet to be sold with a Keeper merry go round happening in Europe.

You can rest safe, no one else wants any of the rest of your players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And your players wanted to play for you lot! Ben Arthur just wanted to sit on the bench chewing a greasy kebab from the pit of Ashley's crease! So you lazy players would sooner eat your daily food allowance!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet, rose, oshea, ndiaye, larsson, Johnson, sessegnon, fletcher would all walk into newcastles team.

Remember this date 14th April 2013

The day Sunderland proved to Newcastle in your own back yard who has the best team.

3-0 haha.

As for your french flops and pardew good luck with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eerrrrr
Cabaye would get int our team
Anyone else, NOPE

Agree0 Disagree0

Cabeye would be the only one to get in the Sunderland side? Give your head a shake. 1 derby win an you have the best side but you are below us AGAIN! so really who has the best side.
{Ed024's Note - Given the derby result ......are you really asking ?}

Agree0 Disagree0

BOOOOOOM
Cheers Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote has had a poor season but I would have him along with cabaye cisse and a fully fit ben arfa the rest are either no better or on a par with what we have. as for our players getting in their side I would say o'shea and sessagnon and if he was fit maybe Cattermole.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you bases the best side on a one of game Ed? So does that mean Wigan have a better side than City with that logic? {Ed024's Note - On the day Wigan were the better team, who got the FA Cup to take home ? They didn't say .....well I know Wigan won but really Man City are better so lets give them the trophy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Ed I answered your question. With your logic that would make Wigan better than City. Why won't you post it? {Ed024's Note -Give me time - I have kids to put to bed - see above}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben arfa maybe, if he showed passion
Cabaye definitely
Tiote no way, prefer catts
And would rather have fletcher on his own, than up along side Cisse (don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but we don't play well with 2 up front)

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really its whoevers better on the day, on paper we would hammer you. Even jamie redknapp said that. If Newcastle beat man u 3-0 or chelsea 3-2 does that mean Newcastle have a better team than man u or chelsea? No.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamie Redknapp? Lol haha and who is Jamie Redknapp oh yea he's that clueless bloke married to a rubbish singer from eternal who sells holidays and is the son of a wheeler dealer tax dodger pathetic excuse for a manager. He's cousin is a good player though.

If you said to me Gary Neville OK fair enough he knows he's football.

Northeast best team

Mignolet

Debuchy collocini oshea rose

Nydiaye cabaye

Johnson Ben arfa. Sessegnon
Fletcher.

Sunderland have 7 players to newcastle 4 so we have the better team on the pitch and paper when both have NO INJURY problems.

Agree0 Disagree0

But Sunderland being Sunderland, we will have at least 4 first team injuries every season

I see Di Canio has threatened the players by taking away their summer break and do intense training everyday.
Good on him, they don't deserve a break, apart from Migs obviously
