Believable2 Unbelievable1

We will play 5 in midfield, MON has said before that any team that plays 4 in midfield are doomed

Agree1 Disagree1

Team more likely to be, Mignolet, Bramble,Killgallon,O`Shea,Cuella,Collback and Richardson at back and across midfield Cattemole,Gardner,Meyler and larsson. Remember the messiah likes his "" Park the Bus "" formation.

Cheshire Lockwood Care Home have praised Martin O'neil and Sunderland FC for their Kind Donation and pleasant manner in the way they dealt with the removal of one of their residents. Although the money will refurbish the gardens and the dining area of the home they are sad to see Mr. Saha leave them for pastures new.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Do Newcastle fans ever post on their own sites?

Agree7 Disagree3

If he plays he will score, and if he does not score its cos he is injured.

Fact 1) at the end of last season we were a poor team.
Fact 2) at the beginning of this season we will be a poor team.
I do not understand why the rest of the league are signing quality players all around us and were sitting still, come on Martin, get us jumping!!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Fact. You need to be more optimistic.
Give Mon a chance, most movement in the transfer window done in last few days.
What do you want him to do, sign crap that is available now, or pursue quality.

Jeez.

Agree4 Disagree1

Pretty sure quality is taken before the last few days... Flethcher will be £30m in the last couple of days...

Agree0 Disagree0

Already started signing the crap available now JIZZ, Cuella and Saha are both crap.

Agree0 Disagree1

To the Sgb. I obviously wind you up.
LUVVING IT!

Southampton splash 15 mill euros on Ramirez ... Make no mistake guys were getting left behind in the transfer market and were going to have a long season , I carnt believe safc fans on here saying Saha is ok we have signed two more oldies if you think that will get us into Europe well your off your head . I really hope im wrong and last day of the transfer window we bring in more players but I just carnt see it

Believable3 Unbelievable4

O'Neil has given an interview today saying there will be more signings in the next 10-11 days. OK Southhampton splash 15mil on Ramirez. That does not say he will be a successful signing. Let us not forget all the money we spent on Gyan and where did that get us. Speak to any fan of a club that O'Neil has managed and they will tell you they never knew who he was signing till the deal was all but done. Do we want to be a West Ham whos chairman admitted he was prepared to put the club in a financially perilous situation in order to get the players his manager wanted. Just because players aren't glamour signings doesn't mean they won't work for the team. Do you think TH fans were jumping with joy at getting Parker last season. He ended up one of there best players last season. Also O'Neil said today he doesn't expect Saha to play anywhere near a full season of games. If he knows this then there is no way he is not going to bring in another striker. And remember a ball hasn't even been kicked yet.......

whats the charge, most clubs will not sell until the deadline as there could be injuries b4 31st august and naming 25 man squad, man city and others will loan out or sell players closer to deadline as this drives up wage split from 50/50 to 70/30, we cant live in the world of new players mean success, we can only build a team look at everton they kept same team ,you have to be real and understand that experienced managers will only bring in players, that will fit in squad and buy into the club. van persie was a cripple for 4 yrs and did the business this yr,players need time to get over injuries, simple fact saha will create space as he wont hide on wings, sunderlands most successful seasons in premier league came after adding experience, with bould and schwarzt one year and hutchinson next, good managers bring in whats required, for once give MON time and trust his judgement, he wants players that
want to play for club, i think fletcher wants move, and will come as wolves will realise that there is no auction, safc have done well by not being drawn into a auction, as you may have noticed safc have never reported bids and no figures have been confirmed, wolves have never said there price and safc have never confirmed either. the 15 million just seems like press speculation

Believable4 Unbelievable1

You are right about Moyes- tight budget but incredibly shrewd signings- almost all successful and most under-priced. While not questioning MON's motivational powers, I don't think his record on signings compares. The truth is we have a squad of 20 outfield players, of whom 3/4 have never been PL quality and never will be, and another 3 are little more than promising youngsters at this stage. That gives us 13 or 14 players to choose from, several of those getting on and too injury prone. Unless everyone is fit we start most games with a couple of good players playing out of position or a couple of squad players who would not get a game in most top ten sides. Of course, MON did not create this problem- it was Bruce who collected all those CBs that were ageing or not quite up it and a set of young but very raw strikers- but nor does he seem to be tackling it as quickly as supporters would hope. After all, he has had all year to think about a LB, a mobile CH. a creative influence in MF, a striker, these are not sudden requirements. OK, perhaps Fletcher would have been a good acquisition- but where is Plan B- surely it has not taken the collective efforts of the whole scouting and management team over eight months to identify one potential transfer target? The time to be patient was before the season began not after, especially as the fixture list suggests points will be easier to come by in the first couple of months than later on. And it is MON's job to make players want to come to the club, not look for ones who already do. As things stand we have been less active in transfer market over the close season than any other PL club- despite the fact that we had the worst series of results of any club over the last dozen games of last season. Any sensible analysis suggests we need reinforcements, and sooner rather than later. I hope something is going on behind the scenes, or it will be another season of when avoiding relegation is the highest ambition we can nurture.
Caution is wise counsel, but remember that if you wait too long you reach a point where it is too late to do anything.

Agree2 Disagree0

Absulutely.nail on head my friend

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ill go with my thoughts, just a thought, what players that have been available do you think we are missing out on, within reason and we bought early last year and everyone was on there back after 2 games, give the manager the chance to at least get to end of august, as i think he knows a lot more about players he wants than you, hes not going to burn his bridges by telling all to appease fickle fans, who would rather predict a negative stance, rather than wait and give a manager time to build his own side, rather than waste money, to appease the fans who think they no better, we are lucky to have MON, so dont start the one trick pony brigade off, who can only write negativity before a ball is kicked. good managers build teams with players that he knows will improve team, and we will pursue, thats why he is a manager and your not.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't remember asking that MON reveals his targets- there are plenty of others speculating about that- but that having no targets or having targets that are not here yet is poor management. I am saying that when we had eight months to make plans and we are in the last two weeks there is still no indication of a plan beyond recruiting one person whose club won't sell him for a sensible price, that is a worry. A clear priority for the club is a good start. That should be the manager's priority too, and while I think MON will take some action now, I will be very surprised if it results in players coming here that could not have come a month ago and have been integrated into the team by now. It is not clear to me that we are starting the new season with a stronger squad than we finished the last one, and I see no reason why having a stronger squad at the end of August is a better strategy than having one at the beginning. Incidentally, management is about demonstrating you can create success using the players you can get, not dreaming about how successful you would be if you could get those you want. The lower leagues are full of mangers who would have won something if only they had been able to sign who they wanted.....

Have you now took Anita off your list of " DEFO " signing this week. LMAO.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

It was the papers that linked him to Sunderland sgb! Don't be so quick to laugh either as he ain't kicked a ball in the prem yet! The Dutch league is weak...

Agree3 Disagree0

Take Llorente off your DEFO list too.

Agree1 Disagree0

Llorente never was.

Jeez.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Anita himself said Sunderland were interested but he didn't want to talk to you. FACT!. Just because a league is weak doesn't mean the players are. Tiote, Suarez, etc. SMB.
