Guess we aren't 9/1 to go down now! Sammy Diglet. Whitley Bay.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

O'neil should stay forever, he could be a legend!!!

Agree3 Disagree2

He is certainly running the Kinnear/Shearer combination close.

Agree4 Disagree2

Shearer, got to be managerial legend in the north east, no one comes even near. Ha Ha.

Agree4 Disagree2

I think MON shuld do what Shearer has done and become a football pundit! that's where all the ex failed managers go to!

Agree2 Disagree0

Agreed, like peter reid, niall quinn, and roy keane!
legends,
just need macmenamy back!

Please mr short do every thing you can to get r Martinez from wigan before fellow fan's say there in the relegation zone and below us currently and has never managed a club of our size let me put a few reason why 1) has never had money to spend 2) know's how to get the best out of his player's with fresh and modern tactical idea's and realise's pace is essential in the modern game ie victor Moses was just try to find his way in the game and made a Huge profit 3)is very good at bring on young player's unlike o'neill who just seem's to discard them 4) know's how to beat team's like Everton, newcastle who we haven't beaten for year's meaning that they are now in a fa cup s-final 5) should be credited with some of the success that swansea now enjoy as it was his templet for there current style of football I know someone will say that we beat them twice this season but look at both games firstly the 1-0 home win they were playing us of the park before the highly fortunate dismissal of Gomez and we scored from our only chance through fletcher and had mignolet to thank for keeping them at bay with one of the save's of the season from kone now the return fixture at the dw stadium after falling behind we hit them with the only 3 chance's we had in the first half the second half was like the Alamo again we had mignolet to thank and some very good fortune when They struck the woodwork twice I know sessegnon should have added a forth with our only brake away before they hit a second {Ed001's Note - just to point out, for balance, Martinez took over a Wigan side that Steve Bruce had placed safely in mid-table for a couple of seasons. Every season Martinez has been in charge they have struggled against relegation, so how is he any better than Bruce? Also, to suggest they have no money is erroneous. They don't have huge sums, but they certainly spend a decent amount on players.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

In reply to ed001's note all the so called better player wigan had under bruce were either sold or left for free ( cattermole, bramble, rodallega, diame, n'zogbia and apart from a couple of 5m centre half's and a couple of 2.5m midfielders and a 4m striker who have they spent big money on {Ed001's Note - N'Zogbia? They sold him for good money. The point is they have spent consistently 4m here, 5m there, 2.5m here and then people say they spend nothing. It all adds up and you clearly have no idea about the club at all. Whelan has pumped a fortune in to keep it in the Prem, backing every manager. Martinez has done nothing but become a media favourite for being worse than Bruce. It is sad that people actually believe the nonsense they are told and think Martinez is some kind of genius. Swansea had to alter their style, yet people still go on about it being his, it is nothing like his style at all.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Ive heard mon is sacked. Dunno if true but came from a few sources

Agree2 Disagree4

In my reply to ed001 I included n'zogbia in the player's that were sold if you had read my text as sunderland supporter's we know to well that a lot of 2, 3 and 4m signing's soon add up as was proven under the Keane reign but I would suspect that wigan have spent less under Martinez in his time in charge of wigan than sunderland have shelled out this season alone if I am wrong would you please detail the evidence instead of just saying I don't know any thing about the club as I just picked out the larger transfer fee's they have spent on there current squad {Ed001's Note - I don't see the relevance to what Sunderland have done? I was pointing out how Martinez has spent more than Bruce, yet he wasn't good enough for you and did better.}

That was absolutely s**t every player was unworthy of the red and white top today before fellow supporters say rose was ok a few good dribble's with a looping cross or poor driving cross when in plenty of space is not ok so it is now time to rid this once proud club of the dark cloud with the track suit and glasses hanging over it as a once confessed sunderland supporter please do the right thing and offer your resignation o'neill or come to some deal so that we can get someone in who will motivate our overpayed and gutless player's and give us a lift and a chance of retaining our place in the premier lge not someone who keep's playing favourite's because you've payed well over the top for them Johnson, graham, cueller I know was free someone more tactically flexible to situation's in game's I would have preferred us to have had a real go at picking up all 3 point's today by going 3 up top rather than settling for a negative point which is as good as a defeat

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We were VERY lucky not to get beat by a very poor Norwich side!

Agree3 Disagree0

Haha a very poor Norwich side mate look at your own club you could not even beat Norwich with 12 men against 10. Okay the red card is a hard one to say of it is or not but ill give the ref his dos as its hard to call with such a fast paced game. But in the first 29mins Norwich where all over Sunderland then it all changed your pen was never a pen and the pen Norwich should have had was and was never giving but we could have guessed that he would not give it. Basically Norwich and Sunderland need
To pick there selfs up and get a win or two fast to keep safety. Sunderland need to thank the ref and say good night as that's who got you a point today. Graham and fletcher look bad together. So yea a lot people give Norwich stick but looking at the back round come next season might be a very diffrent story reports saying Ch is being backed with 20m transfer kitty if they stay up.

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree, we were lucky, the ref gave us the point, we did not deserve it at all. I hope I am wrong but it looks like these players are not giving 100% and seem as if they won't respond under Mons management Shame on them if this is true. I have seen this before at other clubs when players get their heads together, again I hope I am wrong.

Can't believe this man is still working in football. Absolutely clueless. Doesn't know what to do at all. Honestly think it was his assisstant that has always made him look good. He doesn't know who to bring on or when to do it. Completely fed up of his decisions and his sh**e excuses for everything that e doesn't know how to do. Just walk Martin. MON out.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

few people on here blaming mon the manager picked his best team today and once on the pitch it is down to them to put in the performance which was totally unacceptable we were lucky to get a draw today my only worry with mon at the moment is that if us the fans can see surely he can that some of those players he picks are either not giving their best or are not good enough with some games coming up against Manchester United Chelsea and everton which we are not expected to get any points a few of the young lads should get an opportunity to play and before anyone replies to that last sentence all I can say is they can't do any worse than the players who were on show today.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Dont think he did pick his best team available graham hardly trained all week wickham shouldve started larsson and vaughan to lightweight in the middle n'diaye and gardner should be there to add power and aggression, bardsley should be playing at rb, all this has been mentioned by mon in the past yet every week its the same story.

Agree2 Disagree1

Cant believe people on here STILL defending MON he picked the team and remember the janurary window we've been so short on personell paticually a right back and he's done nothing! not good enough we are going down! we can't even win at home agaisnt a poor team with ten men how are we going to win again this season. appaling 1. time to go Martin!

Agree1 Disagree2

Norwich fan here, it was clear as mud the ref and linesman were on your side today, never a sending off and we should also should have been given a penalty the officials are in my view more Corrupt than I have ever seen, Norwich were by far the better team even with 10 men

Agree4 Disagree2

John O'shea is not part of our best 11. No idea how he has a premier league medal.

Agree2 Disagree0

WHY WHY WHY doesn't he pick Bardsley at right back and put Gradener back in to the midfield!

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with that pal we were crap you should have won!

Agree2 Disagree0

Why doesn't he play Larsson ON THE WING where he belong NOT in the middle!

Agree1 Disagree0

Not disputing the Norwich fans claims about the decisions but the goalkeeper and defender both gained an advantage by the ball hitting their hands so as mon has been saying over the last 6 or 7 games the players and managers need clarification over the rules as we have had some decisions go against us over the season which usually evens itself out. but I hope the Norwich fan can give me a honest reply about the 2 footed challenge by holt on mignolet who was very lucky not to get a serious inury and it went unpunished.

Be very surprised if he's in charge for the man u game. SHOCKING

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Agree with him going the problem is who are we going to get to keep us up. i'm always optimistic but the way we are playing I can't see us winning again this season and stopping up. I just wonder what's going through Ellis Shorts mind right now?

Another utterly clueless display, Norwich had as much of the play and better chances with ten men. O'Neill's tactics pathetic- he has been about as effective as McMenemy. By some distance the worst manager in the division, with no idea how to change a the play and alter a game. But he has probably been retained long enough to ensure we go down. I hope you OAFs (and Short, who seems as clueless about what makes for success off the field as Messiah O'Neill is about how to influence what happens on it) are pleased with yourselves. It is your mindless support for this clown that kept him here long enough to take us down. A complete shambles, and too late to make much difference whatever happens now. So let's have another post match explanation of how 'unlucky' we were Martin, and more posts from the OAFs about the players not being good enough. I despair.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Well, an OAF here, these players are not good enough for this league or this club. Absolutely no desire to put an effort in and win the game, I thought that was glaringly obvious today as in most of the games this season. So this OAF thinks the overpaid players must shoulder some of the blame. Chris-s.

Agree2 Disagree0

We desperatly need a spark but I can't see it coming from this clueless manager!. he can't even admit he's wrong and that he needs a assistant to see what he doing wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant beileive that comment about the players he's had in his squad for over a year now isn't good enough!. that's a comment from a desperate manager whos had enough time to sort the squad out!

Agree2 Disagree0

The MON lovers can't defend this manager anymore!

Agree1 Disagree1

Sounds like your players and manager could do with a kick up the backside, I would gladly oblige.

17 Mar 2013 15:43:51
well we have got the championship squad ready for next season. Although saying that, this team would struggle in that league. What a pile of garbage.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Wed get relegated with this team and that's in the championship!

Another game where we can't beat 10 men. Got very very lucky with that red card and got a lucky penalty. Rose lucky not to give one away and lose the game as well. This feels like a defeat. MON OUT NOW. Absolutely dreadful. Johnson was absolute dog waste as usual and Rose and Vaughan where the only ones really doing anything. United, Chelsea, Mags and Everton to come next. We are going down if we can't beat a Norwich team with a 3rd choice keeper in goal for 60 minutes and no Hoolahan up front. MoN should be ashamed to even show his face right now. Short get that old man out before he ruins this club. Had faith in Mon a few weeks ago but now he has really pushed me to the limit of sticking behind him. #MonOut - G

we can't beet a ten men average side i'm lookin forward to derbys wit boro

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Whys Mangane not being used he prefered the calamity Bramble to him is MON wanting us to go down!?

Agree3 Disagree0

Who you calling an Average side,? Norwich are on the up pal and we are staying here and will be better next season.

Agree1 Disagree6

17 Mar 2013 15:26:29
LOLLL.

Sunderland cannot even beat 10 man Norwich!

And the only reason you even got a draw is because you got a penalty.

Enjoy getting a point, prob the last one you will get this season.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

As much as it pains me to say this. with the exception of the Southampton and Villa games then yes, probably our last few points. Can only see us getting a maximum of 4 from today onwards.

Agree1 Disagree0

Will get 3 at sid james judging on the first half performance of Newcastle at wigan don't look like a team playing Europe to me

Agree2 Disagree2

Haha well the mags aren't laughing now they aren't safe either!

17 Mar 2013 15:23:13
So basically we failed to beat norwich who had 10 men for 60+ mins and we had 12 (including ref) and still couldn't win.

Never a red card for there keeper, never a penalty it hit bassongs chest. Then Rose clearly handballs it in the box and its a freekick. We were very lucky with decisions. AND still we can't win.

MON out?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Knew we'd had it when McClean replaced Graham- case of twit for tw-t

Agree4 Disagree0

Definite penalty for Norwich. Mon is utterly useless. He couldn't pick his nose properly let alone a team!

Agree1 Disagree0

And 1 other point to look at, Lee Camp, Debut in the prem league never been here before and is our 3rd choice keeper, and first match since November, he don't even know if he is going to be with us come the summer, And He pulled off some fantastic saves, which means, the Norwich Squad play for each other.

Predictions for today?

I am going for:

Sunderland 0 - 1 Norwich

Norwich are more organised in defense, and they break better out of midfield.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

This is how it should have ended, dodgy ref and Lino, Handed you the point, perhaps they had a bet on 361

17 Mar 2013 10:51:22

Cant make my mind up what I would want the Mags scoreline to be against Wigan.
Arca looks to be retiring, good luck to him, liked him a lot.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Why worry about another team, you need to be more concerned about your own team!

Agree1 Disagree0

Typical Mackem, more concerned about the Newcastle scoreline.

Not surprised though, as Sunderland are heading down.

That's ok Jeez, you can join the Toon next season if you like.

It's time to stop being a rebel and join the mighty Newcastle, you know it makes sense.

Agree1 Disagree0

Typical jawdee, a couple of lucky points better off and suddenly they are a mighty team, and might go down too. despite what the pearly king says. now that makes more sense.
