Got to drop Colback, far to negative. Get Bardo back in at fullback & put Gardner in CM alongside Catts with the objective of... your our linchpin in midfield, dictate the game & score goals, Catts will mop up behind you. Sess is not a winger and where not playing well enough to allow him a free ride behind the two strikers we should be starting with at home! Starting XI Mignolet

People need to get a grip. Last thing we need is a revolving door of managers. Yes, we aren't playing very well. But who do you honestly (and realistically) think is out there that is a better manager than O'Neil that would come to Sunderland(Rednapp doesn't recognise anything north of watford gap before you start touting him). Moyes finished in 17th place his second or third season at Everton. Should he have been sacked? Managers need time to build teams/squads and a sense of stability at a club. People who are saying since the cup defeat that Bruce was better-let's not forget under him we went out 2nd round against Brighton in the same cup. Also out of 8 games so far this season we have already played 2 top four and 2 top 8 clubs. That's not any easy start by any stretch. Out of the 8 games I would say there is only 1 that is an absolute must/should/need to win and that was Wigan. Only had 3 home games where most other have had 5. Add that to the fact that we haven't got going and are playing awfully I think it's not been a bad start. If you are a true fan then however dissappointing you get behind your team and manager. O'Neil is the man for the job. Bring on Villa

Mind although some people on here are doing a knee jerk reaction ...we need desperatly to beat villa !...if MON picks the right players and 4-4-2 and goes for it we should win ..id hes errs on the side of caution and plays one of his complicated mathematical combinations well lose and then the wolves will be at his door

I can see us doing something special against villa to kick start our season. I can genuinely see it being 3 or 4 nil and give us a real lift. Before any geordies come on saying I'm deluded I couldn't care less about your opinions and I'm not.deluded at all. Safc93
