just a question I would like answering, regarding the fifa rules on wages and revenue, how have we only got so much money to spend on wages, when the likes of man city, spurs etc can pay astronomical fees and wages and we cant, even though we are pretty similar for revenue on attendances and retail merchandise, can anyone shed any light on this matter, cheers. tk73

well i'm shell shocked I've just come off the Newcastle page and all their fans are shouting for pardews head. why blame alan the lad puts out the best team he has and they still get thumped nothing he can do once they are on the pitch that's down to those world class players they have. also you now have a lot of fans saying the teams not good enough. it was only a couple of days ago they were stating how good a squad they have and it was easy a top six one. well most sunderland fans have been telling them for weeks how poor they are but would they listen NO. a couple of strikers and they will be challenging for champions league didn't no one tell alan pardew that they conceded nearly 70 goals in the league plus more in the fa and league cup along with Europa it must have been nearly 100. on my reckoning its a defence they need and a bloody good one.

Lambert lol he's a championship striker he's just had a decent week, scoring a penalty wooopy doo and against the jocks wow. Osvaldo is good ON he's DAY and they are few and far between. I doubt your even a southampton fan your probs a mag.
Altidore is a bull and he's due a goal flurry so beware. The way we play I fancy us getting wins away from home, fulham camped inside their half for 90 minutes and played for a draw and got a lucky goal from a corner, their only attack.
We are playing well and with confidence so yes we have gelled but we will get better and better.

I don't have much confidence for saturday. They have good players, Lovren, Lambert, Lallana, Ramirez, Cork and now Osvaldo. Just promoted the other season and now they're brnging in great players, when we got promoted under Keane we bought Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney, great.
Lovren is overrated
Ramirez is inconsistent
Osvaldo is just a little girl, most of the time he's throwing a strop

What little sympathy I had for Bardsley (did he apologise to the fans for his behavior in the Casino?) has now gone.
Would be better if no one posted his name on here but what his hoping for is that what he said will make the club terminate his contract and let him go for free if it wasn't for the wages I would say let him rot for a year and I wouldn't give him a game for the reserves

Very very quiet on any definite SAFC rumours at the minute. LB and winger are only ones that have any legs behind them so the attacking CM is proving an issue.
As for those on about last nights game. I am more concerned we lost to Fulham that than Man City beating them as most teams will get beat by Man City!
Concentrate on our club I'd say!

Absolutely agree. City will probably not lose at home this season. We need concentrate on tightening our defence and converting pressure into goals. Hard fixtures ahoy.

If a decent LB is found I would play Colback as left midfield and Giacherini in the hole. Still need to find a midfielder who can dictate the play.

We are skint, the wage bill is killing any incommings. Would imagine Southamptons wage bill is low with most of their players on the same wages as they had in the championship so they can afford to make few big money signings.

Ed we have no real quality in depth, we need to strengthen, but selling players to fund other buys suggests money is the problem, not financial fair play restrictions. surely we can afford at least one marquee signing without selling any more players, ( except bardsley get rid).
