Out: Kilgallon and Bramble should be sold while we might still get a small fee for them from Championship clubs- unthinkable their contracts will be renewed at end of season. Larsson does not seem very involved these days, and Johnson has been a big disappointment. O'Neill never plays Ji so he may as well go too.
In: Clyne, Curtis Davies, Austin, Nzonzi, Granqvist.

^^ this guy clearly wants championship football next season you dont have a clue them players youve just named im not even going to bother argue with you that list of players in was just pathetic

Agree5 Disagree1

Not at all, but there is no point asking for Messi- you have to think who might see Sunderland as a realistic step and who will actually play for 90 minutes every week. Any person can make a list of players we can't afford, and who would not come here anyway. If Van Persie was here his efforts would probably be as poor as Johnson's, it is not easy to find good players who give 100% every game despite the limitations of those around them. The only thing bigger than these so-called stars bank balances is their egos. We need players who will fight from here on if we are going to survive the season, so I suggest that you try to put on your thinking head and engage with reality.

If MoN survives the festive period- and given the performances he has been getting from this very dull squad that is by no means certain- then he really needs to show some creativity in the transfer window- little wonder we see none on the field when there is none off it. So, no more ageing defenders, no more players he has managed elsewhere, and no more 'frees', there is a reason this players are available- nobody wants them! So let's see some inspired signings, defenders who can win the ball and consistently hold position and mark, midfielders who can beat a man and pass accurately, and forwards who shoot regularly and can win the ball in the air would be good places to start. Anyone who thinks the likes of O'Shea, Bramble and Kilgallon can perform at the centre of a premier league defence deserves to be in the Championship, and is heading there! And Martin, a couple of things, while you are strengthening midfield try to find someone taller than five feet eight. And if you can coax a couple of performances out of Johnson before it is too late, maybe we could get lucky and offload him, because so far he has looked more like a ten quid player than ten million!

Believable1 Unbelievable7

God give Johnson a chance were not
gonna offload him in Jan that would be daft so calm down give him a chance he said he will give us performences and he will so shut up

Agree8 Disagree0

I assume you are his mother- as no one who has watched over the past three months could maintain such blind faith.

Johnson has been decent lately, stop talking rubbish, you either a mag or a very poor sunderland fan with your terrible opinion

Agree4 Disagree3

Well, I feel sorry for all you fans whose expectations have been so much reduced by performances over recent years (and managers) that Johnson managing to pass the ball occasionally to players in red and white seems like an improvement. I hope you get paid £150k a week for occasionally doing your job, it must be a very comfortable place to live. But maybe you will understand that those of us who only get paid if we do what we are paid for take a different view However, it is the season to be jolly. So a very merry Christmas to all Sunderland fans, however myopic. I have experienced almost 60 years of regular disappointments, but 1973 and 1998-2001 were wonderful. You can't choose your team, it is a matter of birth, and the so-called fans that call anyone who criticises the unrelenting underachievement of the current team of ballerinas a 'Mag' simply demonstrate tribal idiocy.
Fortunately we let anyone support us, whether or not they have a brain. Merry Christmas to you all, and let us hope MoN and the lads start to earn their pay in 2013.
