Some players have gone crying to PFA! I challenge the players who have made the complaints to go public - let's know who you are and let the reaction of the fans tell you what they think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is the mentality of todays footballers its a absolute disgrace they should be sacked from the club and named to the football public so they never play in this country again or I not to mention the fact that they are all crap!

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day football players are employees and not slaves. They have he right to be treated as such regardless of how much they earn. {Ed001's Note - seriously? So being fined is now tantamount to slavery is it? Ludicrous response! Gordon Taylor is a joke and only interested in keeping himself in the media spotlight. I suppose he has to do something to prove he is worth being the highest paid union boss in history!}

Agree0 Disagree0

They have been asked to act in a professional manner and to train for 3 hours per day and some of them are only offered £4ok per week.
This is asking too much. PDC should give them a break.
Namely their necks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give them a break, quality :)

have we ever had a manager who the fans have taken to in such a short time in our history. after the milliband and the miners union fiasco a vast majority of fans got behind the club and PDC. now with taylor and the pfa coming out in the mirror about investigating PDC for fining our so called overpaid and under achieving players the fans are getting behind PDC again. having read numerous responses in the sunderland echo, readytogo, and tv comments every sunderland fan is behind PDC and his stance with these players. even other fans from different clubs giving their backing to PDC and now Adam Johnson backing him and publicly stating he has under achieved himself along with the team and stating this is the worst season in his career and also hoping that he is in the plans for next season under PDC. let's hope that the players who remain and the ones that come in for next season are better professionals and the club will be heading in the right direction. in ellis short we trust

What position does Colback play now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He plays where he is needed

Agree0 Disagree0

He just goes from place to place, getting into adventures and helping people. Bit like the littlest hobo except ginger!
Liono74 ftm

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye he does like!

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, Jack Colback is a credit to the Academy and SAFC. this kid runs his guts out for the cause, plays wherever he's asked to, and always plays for the shirt. At right back against Everton, he was class, reminded me of a young Gary Neville. It's always handy to have a good utility player in the squad, and with our injuries and suspensions, he's been priceless.

a few rumours going around about big money transfers coming to the sol. I would be very surprised if we make any marquee signings at the moment but i'm not saying we might not be able to get in a few big names under the bosman rulings. if we were to make any big signing in the future then we have the right chairman in place to back the manager. Short has just found out that his investment between him and his partner in loan star is now at a staggering 61 billion and he is in the process of setting up a new company in Europe hoping to get in the same deals that he has in the usa with an estimated 1 trillion pounds in the market so I think our club is in the best hands at the moment so let's be patient and see where short takes us I would think his ambitions will be quiet high for the club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope so we need it

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect a few big signings heading our way for the reason that Mr Ellis is absolutely rolling in it

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ellis could be the best chairman we have ever had seems very passionate about it too according to reports

The mags are saying we will never get any top class players, because we aren't good enough
Remember when tevez and mascherano joined West ham???

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did West Ham even own those players?

That was more like time shares in mercenary holdings.

mag I here in peace, let's both remember one thing, it takes more than one season to build a team structure that achieves, look not further than Fergie to prove that. it takes common sense, good scouting networks and quite a bit of luck as well as a decent football and man management brain. We are both hoping for improvement next season, let's be honest any worse and it's championship for both teams. we are moving a few out, some of the stuff I have read about Sunderland' clear-out is scary, it's all good and well clearing the decks, but you need replacements will you get them all, it looks as if signings will have to be in double figures. the big problem is then the time for the team to work together and become a team in the real sense. It can leave you playing catch up. And also signing players the want to play as part of a team. just look at the state of QPR, if it could run and chew gum at the same time they signed him. Both sets of fans need to be patient ( I know we have all waited for years) but I reckon this summer will be the most interesting for years. see you next season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sensible post!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mate that is why I have wrote on here that we need to keep most of the players we have and bring a few new faces with a little bit of quality to replace the odd ones I hope that go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good points raised here, the man talks sense

I think everyone is forgetting what a legend Di Canio is in Italy he played for the national team 25years and spent time at Lazio. He will have huge pull in the Italian leagues and if he has the backing of Short (billionaire owner) why can't he attract players like Cavani or El shaawarey?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Played for Lazio, Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan. Capped 9 times at U21 level but never capped at senior level - sorry.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see what your getting at, but them players are too big for us
Take a couple steps down

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from the huge transfer fees, these players wages will be way higher than the wage structure in place here. Will that structure be scrapped? I think its unlikely, and unrealistic, to think we'll see players of Cavani's stature.

Agree0 Disagree0

While I do think we will be aiming for a much higher calibre of player we are used to, we will sign quality and quantity but we won't be signing cavani etc far to expensive and unrealistic, them sort of players go to top 4 sides and champions league clubs. The people who are saying were getting Cavani are saying so tongue in cheek.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless short is going to take a gamble and pay big money I can't see us going for any players like cavani. ellis short made his money by being shrewd in the loans market so I just can't see him gambling in the transfer market

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sigurdsson, Dawson, Rose, Ramsey, Jenkinson

Agree0 Disagree0

All of those would do me

Agree0 Disagree0

All of them put together would be around 30m

So now we know- Bardo wasn't out on a drunken bender, he was doing charity work! Thank God these players have Uncle Gordon and the players union to protect them against that nasty Mr Di Canio.

Just when you think this bunch of feckless overpaid flops can't do any more to damage the club than they have already on the pitch this season, it turns out that if you hit them in the wallet they wake up! Does that mean if we had payment by results, some of them might look like footballers occasionally. ? Get them all out, the quicker the better!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree totally, they have seen off two respected managers with their unprofessional antics, its not all the players but I said a long while back that some players were having a destructive influence at the club. Good luck to Paolo in getting them out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember the respect campaign for the ref's? Maybe these players should respect the people that pay there lavish lifestyles! Whilst we are slogging our gutts out at work to watch the mighty cats they sit on their fat backsides wanting more gambling money! PDC get these parasites off our wage bill and bring in players that match your driven way for success!
Exciting football please next season Paulo!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mags did it with barton and Nolan so there is no reason why we can't get rid of the disruptive players. fans pay good money on bad wages to watch the sh**e served up at the sol the fines imposed on these players should be fed back to the supporters some way.
