Celtic have turned down 7 million for hooper this means either they are holding out for more or between celtic and sunderland they have agreed if sunderland leave alone till the summer he can talk to us for free so would be more likely we are going to get a striker on loan here's what I think the boy from man city or darren bent could even end up getting samars I would love to ger higuan from madrid just on loan what I will say is mon will already know who he wants something will already be done but nothing will be done till the last min so no one hijack our deals in mon I trust we have no need to panic unless fletcher got injured against swansea ed is there any new rumours floating about I think graham is the main target but I just can't see him spending that sort of money on player I think is only going to be cover there most be a pacey skill full player were after {Ed001's Note - he won't be available on a free in the summer, he still has another year on his contract.}

Is that a £7 million bid off Sunderland or Norwich ?...if the Mags can splash out on 3-4 players why can't we ?

I think if we are getting Graham Swansea will sell him on friday so that he can't play against his old club on Saturday as wouldn't it be embarrassing if he scored against his old club ?

We don't play them at the weekend, it's Tuesday night.

Another 2 for Hooper tonight. Better bet than Graham I would say. Also linked with another Argentinian striker but not Zarate.

Newcastle have now signed three very good French defenders in a couple of days (and have a class striker on the way). QPR also seem to have had clear targets and are effective turning these into signings. Very disappointing to see that we are so slow to recruit to positions that have been priorities for two or three seasons now. Did the club really not have fullbacks and centrebacks already on the radar before the window opened? We spent the summer pre-occupied with Fletcher and neglecting obvious defensive weaknesses, and though he has been a great acquisition it is no good thinking of one player at a time! Short is supposed to be a shrewd businessman; why is there no evidence that this club has any kind of strategic plan when it comes to the playing staff?

I see the Mags are going to buy a whole French team !

I agree in part with you but I think mon will know who he wants and I think also will have the backing of short I believe these two men want our club to succeed not just for financial gain yes financial gain will be in the back short's mind he's a buisness man but I think there will be an element of pride he's not being whored out like part-jew and ashley is totally about the cash he is spending because he knows they are dangerously close to the drop and he will see financial returns plumet if they drop. keep the faith and if we are failed by mon show your contemp by staying away don't turn up and slag him off because that does nothing for us our our players
cheers all john safc ftm

Give him time.
Mags are in free fall. Players leaving and others including their two best players staing they want to leave.
Simpson contract up in summer.
If they don't let Colo go he is hardly going to be giving 100 %. Ben Arfa listed clubs he would love to go to.
Look at the signings Mon has already done. If his next signings are as good, then we will have an excellent sqad.
I am checking internet all the time to see if we sign anyone. It is natural to be keen, but show some patience.
Jeez.

Campell will do well at Cardiff because he's a championship player, we'll only sign one striker as cover for fletcher or to play in the role Sess does at the mo; wouldn't mind seeing Hooper given the chance. After that, maybe another loan player but no more.

Just watching the bundesleague itv4. Ji had a ccuple of decent attemPts. Looks a bit more filled out maybe just needs more playing time. Typical. there's a good number of koreans chinese japanese in german football maybe ji just needs some time.
Though whether he lk get that at sunderland remains to be seen.

Why the clamour for Hooper? Played all his football in lower leagues, including now, and at 8m is vastly overpriced. Before anyone says " he is scoring in champions league" just look at Shola Ameobi, he scored in champions league at the Nou Camp v Barca. Means nothing. Hooper would be like O`shea, Brown, expensive mistake what with fee and wages.

Alot of people also said that Fletcher would just be an expensive mistake...

Apprently the latest is we aren't going after Zarate and we are no nearer getting another striker ...why did we sell Campbell then /..? and also let go Saha and JI !...that is bad mangement selling before we replace paticullay when we have only one good striker !...and remember we are still near the relegation zone !..
Believable3
Unbelievable4
Given O'Neill concluded almost as soon as he was signed that Saha was not up to it, and his lack of confidence in Campbell, who only got on when there was no alternative, it is unlikely either will be missed. And getting rid of players who never play does not weaken the squad, perhaps Wickham will get a fair chance. In fact, as playing emergency fullbacks has seen the defence look more secure we might as well let Bardsley go too- then O'Neill won't be tempted to play him. Of course, the same is true of Cuellar, so I think the priority is still to sign a couple more solid, mobile defenders. Haidara would have been good target for us, but so is Oliver Sorg (Freiberg) or Inkoom (Dnipro). But a class CB who can orgainse the defence should be the main target.

why all the persistance on hooper and graham yes if fletcher gets injured we are short for cover but why pay out 8 or 5 mill respectively for players who will start on the bench as we know mon likes playing one up front

Hopefully a striker i'm going to be honest I don't want Danny Graham i'd rather have a decent striker from somewhere in abroad europe moussa sow would be my choice but I can't see that happening

Well with 3 strikers out the door well need another 2 strikers at least !..id take Graham along with Zarate a combination of skill and goal scoring abilty in both as options ! ...still think selling Campbell for penuts was wrong !
Agree0

I'm not convinced europe is the answer, zarate struggles to score in Italy, be knackered in the prem. With the policy of looking at froreigners we would never have signed fletch. Having said that, I have 100% faith ins mons signings lm86
