So Mr short is this exceptable because surely if you want this club to progress and achieve something you need to get 2 things:
1the balls to sack a manager that in my opinion is although a decent bloke, hasn't got a clue about tactics or motivation get rid and bring in either big Sam or a young manager who will give this club a shot in the arm it so desperately needs.
2 get rid of congerton sorry but he's not good enough. This is a fantastic football club but if things don't change we'll end up like Portsmouth wallowing in the lower part of the football league for the near future. I really hope this doesn't happen, but we are festering and it looks like nobody high up gives a shi@%.

So sack Dick and Congerton is your answer to moving the club forward? I happen to disagree, well mostly anyway!

We will start with Big Dick. The team as a whole look more threatening now with more attacking potency than they did under Poyet, PDC and MON (Possibly Bruce as well)

However, his tactics do not provide adequate cover for defence, especially when PVA is on the edge of the opponents box! I also have major concerns at his reluctance to use youth players, in particular Watmore, and his lack of substitutions in games.

The positives however, along with the greater attacking threat, are the players he has recommended to sign. Lens, although a bit lazy defensively, looks like he can be a great addition to the squad, Toivonen is a good target man with a nice touch and awareness and M'Vila (The Stand Out In My Opinion) just looks a cut above anyone else quality wise in the squad, even Kaboul (When Coates is not alongside him) looks better than we had already. Basically the signings he has recommended have improved the overall quality of the squad.

This leads me onto Congerton. As I have stated on the rumours section of this site how can he be accountable for signing the players he is TOLD to go and sign? Brid and Buck specifically were direct from Poyet as will a lot of the others have been.

We are a relegation battling club that has changed mangers once a year for the last 4-5 years so how can he attract players here, especially when our wage bill is over stretched for the below average players we can't shift out of the squad.

The core of our squad are the same players we have had for the last 4-5 relegation threatened seasons (Brown, JOS, Catts, Larsson, Fletcher and so on) so until they are all moved on and replaced with the higher quality players (Lens, M'Vila etc) or up and coming youth (Watmore) we will not move forward.

At this stage Dick and Congerton have not had much time to reshape the squad so hopefully we can ride out the poor start and come January we might be able to strengthen again.

To conclude I am as disappointed as any fan at the poor performances thus far but we are being a bit too negative too early. Let's continue to support the team and hopefully we will start gaining points

I seem to remember people were calling for Defoe to get an England call up not long ago and I got criticised for saying that was ridiculous. I rest my case!!
As for last night, it was awful and it goes without saying that we are playing a style of football that does not suit the players. How is it that other clubs can play with wing backs and still defend? We obviously don't have the players to do that and need to change the formation to block up the game to at least try and get a point in the next league game. If Dick can't or won't change his approach ( and I totally agree with the comments on Whatmore ) then he should hang up his managerial jacket and retire to Holland to be with his wife. Get hold of Sam and pay him what he wants to keep the club up. If they wait too long it will be too late as McLaren will be gone by Christmas and he will be back up the road.

Well in addition to playing horribly we now have to deal with the referees again. Reminds me of 2 years ago when we had to deal with bs red cards and then not getting the penalties against us. Seems very familiar to me.
