With today's game rained off, O'Neil won't need to rest players for tues nights game, wonder if Johnson and fletcher might start, could use game almost like ore season friendly ( obviously can't make as many changes like !) with fletcher short of match sharpness, think this would make sense. Probably worth getting a ticket, only a tenner or twelve at the gate !!

I have to say. Sunderland fan. Red & white blood. Never call the team. MON is god. ES has kept by his word. But WTF? We can't even stage a premier match August, because of heavy rain. We are now the laughing stock. All the money we spend & we can't get rid of water? SAFC. You should be embarrssed. Poor Reading fans that travelled. Disgraceful.

Nature Mate! just one of those things, I do feel sorry for ALL the fans that made the journey.

MON you need to sign ground staff m8 the ones you got now are crap the pitch has been rubbish for 2 seasons , now match called off live 5 mins from ground my gardens ok drop me line and i will look after pitch

Why do concerts ruin pitch ? simple fact is when laying new pitch ground staff did not do it right blocked draining points the lad who looks after pitch should be replaced

Take a look at how many fans dont turn up at your home games and quinny twisting on radio about falling gates....dont get me wrong u might get some closet fans to see your new signings but that will be the only time well except take that......

toon fan here and before you all start i,m not jealous of the aj signing as the question has to be asked if he,s that good why has mancini let him go as all teams like to and want to keep your best players.....if safc had 11 players that was committed as bardsley then u would be to 6 and in europe and thats coming from a magg.....k

They need to bring in money. mancini is frustrated that he's not allowed to splash the cash now. Needs to reduce wage bill.Before anybody says they've got rich billionaire owners , they don't want to get into mega debt, like Man Utd.

You could be right there plus with the new fair play rules (even though i,m not sure how they work) i believe the club has to be self sufficent (i think) but not sure what happens to the club if they are,nt as theres no point in fining the big clubs as money aint a problem.......ant wat good look with your new signings......k

All, SAFC season ticket holder since 1996 here. Am I the only one here more excited with the Fletcher signing than Adam Johnson? Fletch will give us 100% week in week out and will link and hold up our attacking play up well, whereas AJ will punish opposing teams but will drift in and out of games, my point is, can we, as a mid-table premier league team afford to have too many of this type of luxury player in our side, as we allready have Sess who is also like this? And will our minority of fickle fans get on his back when things are not going our way, although they haven't got on Sess's back yet, but he does not have AJ's background? Anyway, looking forward to match this afternoon, SOL should be buzzing with anticipation... SAFC for ever!!

Yes I am more exited about Fletch than AJ. We were desperate for some one to lead the line. AJ a great signing though. By the way does he not play in the same position as Mac.
