Got Southampton
Wot do people think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very winnable. In fact I expect to win. I can see us doing well in the cups. Were taking them seriously finally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Expecting a win against Southampton who are playing very well atm is deluded.

Ole Gunnar solskjaer for me! He's done brilliant at his current club? What do ya think??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Only bad thing is no premier experience

Agree0 Disagree0

He played in the Premier for years! Michael Laudrup had no Premier experience. We need someone who is a good coach, is good at man management and knows a good player both in technique and attitude. I think Kevin Ball could do this, but I also think Poyet could. The best coach around is McClaren. He was only a dumbo with England. He, s been very good at club level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di canio had no pl experience but played in the prem for years and look what happened to him! Plus Laudrup has loads of management experience

Poyet took a league one relegation candidate to the Championship play-offs, playing a really attractive style of football. On his record there's no doubting he's a good manager. My concern is that he's not the right man for us right now, I'm thinking we need an Englishman with Prem experience but I'm hoping he proves me wrong

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am thinking if we have a billionaire owner, why not go for a top notch manager, if there is any available out there. No good messing around for cheaper alternatives, that is if Ellis is serious about the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Mancini?

Agree0 Disagree0

If di Matteo turned you down then you have no chance of Mancini. You didn't anyway

I've major reservations about Poyet being appointed! He needs to explain his Brighton exit and we really need to establish the brand of football he plans to put infront of us. To me he seems like a DiCanio in waiting - I'm really uncomfortable with his appointment! Bing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Supposedly he wanted money to better the team and they wouldn't give him anything! Not sure if that's true but it's what I have heard

Kevin Ball is a club legend but if he did take over and it turns sour, who will remember the good things. I would rather he stayed on in his current role as reserve team coach than get abuse of fickle fans if it did not work out. As for Poyet, Undecided. No prem. experience, same as PDC. Sacked from his previous job, same as PDC. We need stability at our club and I'm not sure if we will get it with him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well put mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Very suprised Stuart Pearce hasn't had a mention

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever becomes manager will need a protective vest, just in case the backstabbers don't like him.

Mag alert.

I admit I am one of these fans who thought Cattermole was a liability and not good enough and reckless and all that but from what I heard he was top notch last night? I may have misjudged him! Yet it was only P'boro not a prem team that keeps more possession than we do. Nice to see he's trying his best to get back in the team mind.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Flaming you have not misjudged him, he will revert back to himself soon enough. Top notch against Liverpool this weekend is what is needed, but top notch he is definitely not.

Agree0 Disagree0

See this sums up fickle sunderlands fans in one sentence, you've been slating him but you HEARD not even saw, him play last night and now u were wrong about him, the whole country is laughing at you now, not just Newcastle!

Agree0 Disagree0

He has never been top notch. However, he has always done a good job and gives 100%. can't understand why people won't give him a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look, let's be honest about this, Cattermole is usually either very good or very bad, and unfortunately it is pot luck which one turns up on the day.

I personally think he got carried away under Bruce and being made captain went to his head. He charged into every tackle and usually got booked early on in matches so had to back off for the rest of the game making it hard to perform. I also believe he got booked more than other players would have based upon his reputation!

When MON arrived he went through around 10 games where he was pushing international midfielder standard. He then got injured and never returned the same player.

Is he our saviour, who knows? Is he better than Seb or Vaughan in the middle, i'd say yes! Is he a better option than both Cabral and Ki, I'd say no! Passing may not not be his strong point but if he wins the ball more times than he doesn't and passes it 2 yards to Ki who can pass, then that will do me!

The other thing that you can say about him is that he always, without fail, gives 100%. He tries to lead the team by example and is the only one ever seen geeing them up. He has not complained about PDC not playing him, has stuck in, got fit, and was forcing his way back into contention.

To conclude, do I as a SAFC supporter, chop and change between him being good and bad, no I do not! Do I think he will mastermind our survival, no I do not either. Do I think he will contribute to leading the team and play an integral part in our first team set up, yes I do!

So for your deluded SGB's on here scowling at us, go back and look at Tiote, similar mould to Catts, who two seasons ago was a world beater and you now slag off!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cattermole has not done a good job for us at all, he has been average in all games and has been a liability. His behaviour off the pitch vandalising cars was disgraceful, what do you tell young fans?that he is a great role model! He has been given a chance, but he prefers to act like a hooligan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pathetic people bringing up catts past and slating him so what he played well the other night, we always play better with him in the midfield, get behind him and give him a chance or could be worse you could support the mags!

Agree0 Disagree0

So it is pathetic to bring up his past, because he played well the other night, my god are you for real, you just don't get it do you?.
