Swansea- still comparative newcomers who arguably lost their two best players during the summer- underlined tonight just what an ordinary side WBA are when confronted by pace, organisation and commitment. Were you watching Mr O'Neill?

If mon needs an assistant why cant kevin ball do the job until he finds someone or gets robertson to come,we must have other coaches who can take charge of the reserves.chris33

TOTTALLY agree with that train of thought ! ..Bally would make an excellent assistant manager ..mind ive a feeling MON will walk away if things dont improve and if that happens think Bally would be a good stabilising influence ..because at the moment something is not right inside this club at the moment !

So, now we know. The plan at the moment is just to 'try to grind it out'. No wonder we are playing such attractive and effective football! The truth is we are a shambles, with little more than the odd bit of individual effort and initiative- mainly from those like Fletcher and Rose who did not experience the meltdown last season when it became obvious the manager had no ideas and no tactics- from a team that seem demoralized and without any clear strategies beyond defending in depth and getting rid of the ball as soon as possible. While it is true that some of the squad he inherited are probably not premier league quality, it is also the case that players like Johnson and Larsson have looked good enough to compete under other managers and have gone backwards under O'Neill. These are hard times, but he really seems to have neither the capacity nor the appetite for the struggle ahead. This time last season we needed to get rid of Bruce because it was clear the team would not turn around while he was in charge. Sadly, now we need to get rid of O'Neill because it is equally clear that the team have no confidence in him. In fact, the players tried harder for Bruce- though many fans liked him less. At present there is more support for O'Neill off the pitch from fans than we see on the pitch from players. He has lost the plot, and it is time he left the stage.

I really dont think its time to be pushing any panic buttons. I do however think Mon needs to open up his options by bringing in a number two ASAP, were clearing lacking any invention and Mon for all he has the players grinding out draws seems unable to inject any flair into this squad of players.
I dont believe that all the managers we have had over the last wrotten decade can really be as poor as that reflected in there tenour a SAFC. As a club something is not wright at all. Some of this has to be layed at the feet of the players. QPR came into last nights game with the worst start to a Premier league campaign, Harry had no time to put any sort of stamp on them going into the game. What he did do was tell them in no uncertain terms that the state the club finds itself in lies firmly with them...what did he get? A possitive reaction!
After a decade of misfiring and yo-yoing in and out of the Premier league players turn up at SAFC thinking... this'll be a cake walk, I only need to put in one or two good performances a month and I'll get away with it. After all, nobody expects us to win anything! Players like Bramble, Killgallon, O'Shea, Brown, Larsson, Vaughan, McClean Mcfadden, Saha & Campbell all need to shown the door, cut the heart strings, stop putting forward arguments that these players are any good. If they where any good we wouldnt be in the predicament we find ourselves in today. Any manager no mater how good his past record suggests can only lead his players to the white line, what they do after theyve crossed it is totally down to them. Personnaly I'd rather we went down into the lower league's and raided any up and coming talent. At least these players are eager and hungry and not just going through the motions or picking up one last meal ticket before retirement.

PANICKING ? thats and understatement ? we are teetering on the brink of the relegation zone have tough matches coming up !won 2 in 20 ! cant score ! no creatitvity and some of our players are playing as if they dont want to be here ..panicking ?

I couldn't have put the original post any better myself what i saw last nigght was total rubbishe. players with no self belief in them selves the confidence seems shot worse than when bruce was in charge. fans coming out of the ground in total disbelief of what they are watching week out week in. 99% of them who attended last night would have been over the moon with the appointment of mon last season but a year on its apparent from last night that most of those dont care less if mon left the club. if last night is anything to go by then we are in for a very long season ahead and in my eyes a definate battle against relegation. if you are a gambling man get yourself a few quid on harry keeping qpr up
Agree1

Good point about Larsson and Johnson playing better under differant managers suggesting its the tactics and the manager !..and a good manager like Moyles KNEW that Macfadden and Saha were past there best so if MON is so good why didnt he see that !

Remember mcfadden, MON brought him, so did you

If your a really bad gambling man with quid to spare bet on qpr,as the bookies very rarely get it wrong, qpr doomed, based on the fact that we are playing terrible and still pick up points, check how many points harry usually gets in the second half of season, last yr 9 points ahead of arse still finished lower, so this yr 9 points behind is going to stay up, hello is there anybody out there, goto learn direct mate you can sign up for free courses in maths, if you struggle with basic maths.

So why did moyes sell macfadden and sign him back, and sign saha, then Harry redknapp signed him for thfc, as cover for defoe, moyes signed mirallis and jelvavic hence the fact he released saha, saha and macfadden are on pay per play contracts for season, so dont worry

Did you see tonites game? How many balls over the top were attempted by safc. Teams that are struggling play that way attempt to pinch a goal. Nufc and safc doing it cos both teams NEED a win and soon.
Face it safc are playing no better than nufc and vice versa
The only plus for nufc is we play tonite and are still a couple of points above you lot.
You can't argue this as it's true and in black and white!

Only difference is newcastle have most of their best players missing and are still above us in the league if both of us turned our best teams out the skunks are miles better than what we have not one of our players would get in their starting 11 if they were all fit. lets hope their run in the europa league lasts until the semi finals

So newcastle have ben arfa and cabaye missing, and taylor now and we have no players who can get in there team, so they have another 11 players better than us and we are only 1 point behind and 1 game in hand and better goal diff, no nufc player would get in my team niether.
