Sunderland AFC will always struggle to attract and keep hold of quality players. They may have ambition and may also have money to spend however they are not demographically attractive to top players who have the option to play for clubs in cities that offer so much more than Sunderland. Newcastle are now finding it difficult to attract the players they would like as now they aren't prepared to pay extortionate wages and Newcastle is a far far superior city to Sunderland. Unless a player wants to swim 50m without turning round there is little Sunderland can offer.

Newcastle is only good if you live a geordie shore lifestyle fake fake fake, there is more to life than going out on the piss.what if a player dosn't drink or like clubs etc what does he do in newcastle then.nightlife in newcastle is great i go there occasionally myself but it aint my life.nor should it be a proffessional footballers.if a player was interested in showbiz he would go to london end of.

Hey you above talking about swimming sunderland also has a beautifull sea and shoreline that you can swim in, they also host a cracking airshow there its great better than newcastles second rate airport(an airport sunderland tax payers paid towards)

Newcastle only has a great nightlife because the women are slappers, most geordies are not even geordie blood as there fathers are either mackems crossed the tyne and shagged there women or southerners there for stag parties etc.

Lol i agree with the above comment my mum is a geordie but she married a southerner and i was brought up in southend on sea, i found out my dad was a mackem when i was 11 and he introduced me to safc, im 21 now and i was the result of a one night stand.

To be fair the original post never specified Newcastle's night life as a lure to attract players, it just stated Newcastle is a better city with a lot more to offer people in almost every aspect. Regardless of what people from the Sunderland believe this is the general consensus.
