if you really want MON then your welcome to him all he did at villa is spend money on uselass talent like beye, heskey, harewood, salifou, ect tthe you can have him but when your chairman decides that signing players that are worth 5 million for 15 million and putting him on stupid wages then he will stop it just like learner did MON will walk out on you like he did to us 18 months ago all he wants is money .... money Sunderland cant give to him or if no money he will sign free agent that are s**t and useless just to warm your bench ... very harsh on bruce to be sacked with the squad he had built at your bottom half of the league club he did very well on limited funds over last 2 years only spent 20 million in the summer on some quality players like craig gardner and seb larsson best to players for the blues last season but yet he was useless to all you fickle fans out there ... he was a geordie but still gave 110% to your club each season

its about time chairman gave managers more time to get players settled in instead of sacking left right and centre

Did he not finish 6th in three consectutive seasons?
did you not have a couple of days out at wembley?
fickle is it?
bitter are we?

The FAT GEORDIE BTARD got a good team on paper but doesnt kna how to use them. KR not defender he attacker, sess not a lone striker, 8mill kid not a sub, catt is a liability like bruce and y did the big buys move on and wot moves did bruce make to keep them??? i would ov paid bent top top wages to stay at safc not let him walk, sir ferg did that to keep rooney. ftm and oniel plz dont b the 1-0 free kick winner/1-1 draw bore u were at villa

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes 3 successive season in 6th but you really wont know what that feels like you may also give him his !st english relegation hope not always good games against you but just never seem to want to push the club any further on shame though not bitter at all got a lot of time for him did a good job whilst at villa just he left on bad terms and thats what is more frustrating than anything ... yes got 2 of the best days out at wembley but still your fans on ssn would prefer mark hughes has worked on a tight budget before i.e fulham and blackburn .... MON can only work on a budget that means he can waste 30-40 million over next 2 years
dont sign big players will only sign celtic rejects like petrov, agate and maloney
most he will spend on one player is about 15 million which was downing whilst at villa
well you might also like to get used to have heskey at your club because every club he has been since his leicester day MON has tried to sign him big useless striker who is s**t

O'Neil left Villa because the board showed no further ambition, O'Neil took Villa as far as they could. Your team needed more class to progress further than a 6Th place and Villa's Board wouldnt give him the money to do so.
O'Neil walked from a secure job where he could have just took the money and plodded on like so many others do, but he had more ambition. That is the measure of the man.
Celtic furthered the European experience he needed as a manager having been involved in Europe at the highest level as a player. Also the Celtic job gave him the feel of the pressure he needed to test him.
In O'Neil we have a Man of high moral fibre who wont go through the motions to sit on his wages but will test himself and his players to achieve his goals.
I feel we have a quality manager at last!
We're Not like the great unwashed up the road ,let them have the dreams of Europe crashing around the white lightning soaked heads . We will just sit and watch a great man do his best for us and the club he has supported since he was a kid and we will judge his and the clubs efforts at the end of the season.
We have some good players, they just need to play in their natural positions which the some absolutely crazy reason Bruce was never able to grasp or address. The left hand side of the pitch for eg? how long did were we waiting for that to be sorted? that was unbelievable!
Lets see what O'Neils Football brains can do with our squad? We know we are capable, a little bit of tweaking and a dip into the transfer market. Not too much though , we are almost there! Lets see some tactics and finally see what our lads can do

All the Villa fans I have spoken to (about 20 now) have all said they would have him back at Villa right now!

Hey Paddy ,you might want to look at an earlier post on here which states MON is used to working in lesser leagues( Celtic ) and able to fight relegation . Still wanna send congrats to this shower , i mean to refer to Celtic as on a par with Sunderland is a joke ,Celtic are massive with a huge following.

ONeil, who would have thunk it? LOL he joined on the condition that he has money to spend, bearing in mind that he will want 40 mil a season to spend, lets see how long Shorty will give him cash for before he decides like Randy, that ONeil just aint worth the hassle. But to be fair, he will lift your team up the table, shame agent Bruce was not given more time... lol not really his fault that your star striker did one. If he had not gone out on loan/been rented out you would not be where you find yourselves now. But lets face it give ONeil cash and you may do a Villa, but then again if you dont you may do a Leicester... we shall have to see.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

What do a leicester and win 2 cups coz with them he won 2 cups in 1997 and 2000, ain't that bad and he did have them in the top ten of the premier aswell, good all round, be honest you geordies are scared that we probs getting o'neill someone we want

Agree6 Disagree1

Not scared 1 bit, oneill will want massive money for transfers, and if he dosnt get it he will spit his dummy out, just ask the villa fans, hughes would have been the better choice..
but i hope it all works out,coz you carnt beat the tyne@wear derby..

Agree4 Disagree3

Rumour is that O'neil has been promised a 17 million war chest for the January window (why 17m I don't know) and a further 13m in the summer on condition we finish in the top 10. Anybody else heard the same?

Agree8 Disagree1

O'neill is one of the top footballing brains around, far better than that mug in charge of you lot

Agree6 Disagree3

Whoa hold a mo, if you give anyone shed loads of cash they will do a job of sorts - look at villa

Agree4 Disagree0

True, Villa up to 5th - more cash wanted- no more cash - MON walked. Sunderland - 10 mil to spend a season - MON to walk... lol

Agree2 Disagree5

10 mil a season? we spent over 20 mil every season since we been back in prem

Agree1 Disagree0
