Sick of everyone sayin how fletcher is gonna be a bad signing, you have to think of wat he done at wolves and I no for a fact we have better training staff than wolves. And everyone no that mon gets the best out of his payers, so maybe wen he is at his best he will be a top quality striker and mon is not daft u all no that.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

How do you know this to be FACT? Both clubs are of a similar size with similar budgets. Don't get ahead of yourself.

Agree3 Disagree2

How many years have we been shouting for MON to come here? As soon as he appears to be signing someone, the boot goes in. In MON I trust. Dave 100%mackem

Agree3 Disagree2

Safc are a much bigger club than wolves and anyone who knows anything about football carnt disagree. Unless your a Geordie because Nufc are the biggest club in the world haha

Agree3 Disagree3

What's this got to do with Newcastle.. Both Wolves and Sunderland are the same size in stature, Sunderland smaller in fan base but similar all the same. Don't talk history as Wolves is a lot better than Sunderland's. Yo yo Club.

Agree2 Disagree4

Wolves have a bigger fan base? You are for real? And who is it who was just relegated? We have been in the top flight for over 5 years now. Maybe it's time we forgot about this yo-yo tag. I very much doubt Wolves will get straight back up. There are a lot more better teams than them in the Championship.

Agree2 Disagree1

I am not a fan of either wolves or sunderland although members of my family are mackems.

Sunderland are bigger than wolves on all levels it is a geordie saying otherwise, even wolves fans themselves are saying fletcher is going to a bigger club in safc on there sites.

Sunderland have a bigger fanbase, better training ground category one status isn't it?,bigger stadium, better history especially recent, more money, premier league club.

Where are wolves bigger or equal to sunderland geordies..

Btw I mean no disrespect to wolves I like the club and fans and they are a big club in there own right.

Agree2 Disagree1

Geordies are obssesed with big club small club etc, next they will be talking about attendances but you won't hear them talking about trophy.

Does it matter if your a small club or a big club?
I mean you support your local club whatever it is or at least you should do and you support it because your proud of where you come from.

I'm only 5ft7 but into martial arts and regular kick the sh1t out of people over a foot taller than me,same as a small club can a big club so it is all irrelevant its what you do on the pitch.

I would rather support a little club who had small crowds but played good football and caused upsets and won the odd cup than a so called big club in newcastle who consistsntly underachieve and win nowt

Agree2 Disagree1

Good rant. Obsessed with Sunderland I would say its the other way round.

lifelong Newcastle fan come in peace. really feel sorry or you spending at least 10 million on fletched. unfortunately mon believes in British players but seriously paying over the doss for a at bets average player. need to look on the European market someone like Amiga who just signed for west ham at half the price

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Fletcher is a good player, you have to pay premium for proven strikers these days,

Agree3 Disagree5

I believe in British players, we need to improve them if we can. Im not having a go at you here but pardew should look at more British players rather than all these foreign players simply because of the restrictions on foreigners these days. Safc93

Agree1 Disagree3

We do look at brittish players but they are either a fortune or want paying a fortune.....nathaniel clynne, jordon rhodes etc and even spoke to holliet.....k

Agree2 Disagree1

Clubs buying nothing but foreign players do nothing to improve the home nations national sides. just look at the standard of the national sides. better youth policies needed.

Agree2 Disagree0

Most prem clubs buying foreign players will regret it in a couple of years because more restrictions will come into play, simply because the f.a want a stronger national side coming from grass roots thru to the seniors.they know it doesnt help at all with the foreigners coming for a fast buck and having good nationals warming benches.tk73

Agree1 Disagree1

All top clubs have too many foreigners for the prem to change foreigner rule. top clubs have too much power. we all know that. fair play league was brought in so city sponsored themselves 400m. nothing done.

Ok so wolves don't want to sell fine let's move on to other targets because myself I'm beginning to wonder if we have a scouting network at all .the players were being linked with are average at best, 10 - 15 mill for fletcher wtf is thAt , were getting players of the wage bill missing out on what I think would be good signings , why what is happing do we have money or don't we as much as I hate the toon there is a big difference between the players there going for and who we are targeting , but finance wise both clubs are about the same. What is everyone else thinking am I getting this all wrong?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

By the looks of it bruce's scouts wernt sacked with him come on martin some quality please

Agree1 Disagree0

Bruce bought gyan=quality, bent=quality, welbeck loan=quality, mclean=quality, sessegnon=quality, larsson=quality better than anyoneO'Neil has been linked with so bruce in regards to signings is better.

Agree1 Disagree0

Shame he played every single one of them in the wrong position most of the time then really!

Have been looking stats on fletcher for last season out of interest.

On Clear cut chances(ie tap ins) alone he had a 70% conversion rate. Only one player had better than that and it was Lampard. To give a better comaprison-Bendtners was only 18% for us last season.

On general chance conversion he had 18%. 9 players managed better than that-Lamps,VP, Rooney Aguero, Balotelli,Holt Demba ba cisse & Jelavic. Better conversion rate than Suarez, VDV, Torres. The same as Adeybayor.

Last season I feel where we missed opportunities was with the easy chances being missed. The goals that Bent would have put away for us. We have the players that can score the croud pleasing goals as we saw last season with Sess and gardner. We need a poacher. OK Fletcher may not be the glamour signing but we need a work horse to play along side sess who can stretch the defensive line and make space for our more creative players.Someone who will be there in the box when then ball breaks. We need a player that fits in for what we need as a team. I think Fletcher could do really well for us.

Having said all that I would be concerned if we were paying more than 10 mill

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Keep convincing yourself he,s that good.....k

Agree2 Disagree2

^^ stats don't lie, think he would be a good signing if the price is right. O'neil knows what he's doing!

Agree2 Disagree2

In his four years in english football he has played for burnley and wolves and been relegated with both. hardly fills one with confidence does it. how does a 12 goal striker fit in with what we need? 12m is a lot to pay for average. needsa to look abroad or maybe we cannot attract any decent players

Agree2 Disagree2

Like you said stats don't lie , but surly if we had a good scouting network we could pick up someone abroad just as good on the cheap

Agree1 Disagree0

I would think that O'Neil would be looking to bring more than one striker. Then it would make sense to look for one who knows the premier league and we know for a fact can cut it at that level(12 goals and 2 assists proves that). Then he can take a risk on a second strikers and give them time to get used to the league.

I think we should trust O'neil. I know I do

Surely somebody must sign this week?

i was at the Sunderland v Hartlepool Match, and i have to say i was very disapointed! im well aware it was a pre season game and a fully fit full strength team wasnt on the pitch, but Catts, Richardson, Wickham, Bramble, Campbell, Mignolet, and Gardner all played!

we didnt look sharp, hungry or to be honest bothered! i was standing in the hartlepool end and was impressed with how many sunderland fans travelled and it looked like we just didnt care.

in all honesty am i the only one who see's Lukaku on a season long loan as a brilliant signing?? i cant believe we/anyone hasnt snapped or atleast tried to sign him on loan?

How can anyone rate Fletcher at 10million? He's a decent hard working player but worth no more than 4-5! If they pay that much its showing a lack of ambition and also scouting and negotiating skills.

No we ain't been to busy with transfers so far and we are all desperate to see oneil sign some players but can I just say..please for the love of god do not sign fletcher he is average player and for the money I'd rather they keep him .

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Agree100 percent fletcher is very average. Can only asume mon failed to get his first choice targets. Hardly the quality he talked of. Very worrying if fletcher is the best we can hope for.😥

Agree3 Disagree1

Half your transfer budget on fletcher and i read on here last week that some safc fans thought fletcher was the best centre forward in the air in epl......now you dont want him?...ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Fletcher wants t stay at wolves but money talks fletcher was in the top 7 strikers in europe last year for goals 2 games ratio

Agree2 Disagree0

TOP 7 STRIKERS IN EUROPE?? ha ha he scored 12 goals for heavens sake

Agree1 Disagree0

If fletcher was that good every top team would be chasing him and wolves would be trying to give him a better contract.....not even top 7 in epl....average at best....k {Ed001's Note - Wolves do want to keep him though, so that bit of your post is nonsense.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To the well dressed backside, how exactly do you know what our transfer budget is?...........thought so no idea! another bar code taken in by his club allegedly putting in bids to keep them happy! so sad

Agree0 Disagree1

How do you know they want to keep him ed001..??.why are,nt west ham,fulham,qpr,villa etc etc chasing him...he,s average at best unfortunatly an english play is much more money than a much better foreign player..its not nonsence time will only tell if wolves are intent to keep him....k {Ed001's Note - you really are embarrassingly clueless. You do realise that he has been the subject of a number of enquiries and the only reason he is still there is because no one has met Wolves' asking price? The reason his price is high, is because they want to keep him. Bitter obsessed rival fans like you are an embarrassment. Just because your team is not after him, does not mean he is not a good player. Wolves want to keep him, time will not tell because it has already been made plain they do. If you had any clue about the situation surrounding him, you would know all of this, but clearly you don't.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong side of the bed like edd.?? personally do not want my team to sign him sat all its that simple.....if i had to choose i would prefer moses who,s looking like the same type of money dont you agree? or even demsey who yes is much older but in my opinion is a better player and the only person who is embarrassing themselves is you spitting your dummy out due to my opinion on fletcher as i dont rate him then you sput off on one...what next threaten to not post for me on here as i,m sure its banter....k {Ed001's Note - Moses is abysmal, how many goals did he score in an attacking team? Moses can't pass, doesn't work for the team, loses possession constantly and doesn't score goals, even though he gets lots and lots of chances. I am not a fan of Fletcher, but he scores a large proportion of his chances. Far better than Moses. Your opinion? Rubbish, it was your lies about Wolves not wanting Fletcher and your nonsense about no one wanting him when you clearly know nothing about his situation or whether anyone in fact does want him. Don't make ludicrous idiotic statements and expect people to just accept them. Nothing to do with your opinion of the player at all, but that has obviously escaped you, even though it was plainly obvious.}

Agree0 Disagree0

SORRY edd really think your wrong i never said wolves did not want him i just said if he was that good every body would be chasing him and wolves would be maybe trying to give him a bigger contract so his head does not get turned...i,ve read my post again and again does not say wolves dont want him....just my opinion does not mean i,m wright or wrong...as for moses is,nt chelsea after him or is that purely paper talk....and finally i expect comments and pi** take its a banter site.....k {Ed001's Note - Chelsea may well be after him, but that doesn't make him any good, they signed Bosingwa and Kalou, both of those are awful. It is not a reliable judgement of a player's quality to say which team they play at. We all know there are players at every club that are simply not fit to be there.}
