Ed can you clear up what the difference is between head coach and manager? Happy and confused! Cheers ed {Ed001's Note - head coach picks the team and tactics, plus trains the players in them. Manager also chooses what players are bought and sold, and may have even more responsibilities off the pitch.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Alright cheers ed, so do you think somebody may be brought in as a director of football to overlook transfers etc? Cheers {Ed001's Note - someone will need to be brought in to keep Di Canio in check, he nearly ruined Swindon financially.}

Can be head chef!. As long as he keeps us up

Yes itll be pizzas and spaghetti on the menu! chow!

Liverpool fan in peace.

Good luck with De Canio if anyone can make an impact in a short period it has to be somebody like him. He can motivate players quickly to play in the style he wants.
O'Neil was unlucky with team injuries but he has been manager long enough to have "strength in depth" so in this he has failed. My personal feeling the problem of your league position should have been dealt with at least a month earlier not with just 7 games left.
I wish you all the best in your fight.

Good luck

Many thanks mate!. hope pool do well this season. can we have Henderson back!

Agree2 Disagree0

Thanks mate, I agree with you to be honest. The timing is unusual. Most of us wanted him gone in december but they stuck with him. If we stay up then I can't wait to see what he can do in the Summer Window.

right you lot, stop being pessimistic about Di Canio. We all wanted Mon out and thank god it's happened. Di Canio shows passion, leadership and has experience of playing in this division. If he is to be the next manager I will be behind him. I would rather Di Canio in and we get relegated rather than O'Neill in and we stay up to be honest. With Di Cani at the helm he will show these deluded players what they're meant to do. Not sit on their backsides and get payed. He will make sure they play for every penny. This is what we need. Major passion for football in his heart. This man is the way forward. New signings as well. Not old, Englishmen with no creativity. He will bring in young, foreign players fit for the league. Di Canio is my favoured choice and I hope you all agree that if he does become manager that we will start to see results.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Well sai mate I was silently hoping for di canio from the start he has unbelievable passion for the game and will give all the player a boot up the derrière, he will play exciting attacking football and sign young exciting players. What's not to want?

Agree7 Disagree3

Agree! give him a chance! at least well have ago! and we need passion on the field! something that was missing in recent matches!

Agree6 Disagree3

Looking forward 2next season no matter what division hopefully we will see some exciting football also what signings he will bring in and Wickham might get his chance too

Di canio is in the north east. Passsion and ambition, could be a match made in heaven. He won't be afraid to tell the slackers what he thinks of them either. Safc93

Di canio is a legend

Not sure about this guy mmmmmmm well see mind a lot of little known managers in the premiership have done well so give him a shout! at least hell kick a few backsides and the tactics and training should be better!

Now that o'neill has left soon to be followed by that muppet guppy and if it is to be di Canio then hopefully he can show adam ( i'm taking the piss and doing as little as possible )Johnson that his 7 month holiday is now over and mcclean how to go past full backs and deliver quality ball's into the box because if we don't then graham will never get a goal as he looks very sluggish and his attempt's at holding the ball up is a shin 10 yards away leading to his next touch being a tackle also can he get off the ground to head the ball because the only time I've seen him head it is when he's on the ground unchallenged

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Canny post ; can't disagree with anything except the heading bit. Graham missed everything in the first half; quite different in the second though. Every flick on came off to be fair.

Best post I've seen on here in a while!

At least Di canio has a lot of passion and he will bring alto better talant in with a bit money, instead of boring English players that are past it. S. Rooney.

right dicanio in let's get some passion and focus for chelsea because they are by no means unbeatable and we've done it before. first 3 of 7 survival points required to stay up. I think us fans are going to be as important as any manager for the remainder of season because if we turn on the lads we are down. pardew next for the dole queue

Well said and well written.

Di Canio will do for me, would you argue with him, I think not. Yes he is unproven, MON proved no good so give PDC a go. I think he will be our 12th man when we play barcodes, he will give us some ooommph from the touchline and his post match talk will be a breath of fresh air than MON dross. I am a SAFC supporter who thought MON would do well but over last 3 months thought he should go, not the same man without his No2 Robertson, but he did keep us up after Bruce, we thank you for that, would like to see him back with another club next season to see if we were just a clightch.
C'mon Paulo keep us up.
3 TO GET RELEGATED:OPR READING WIGAN.
SAFC to finish 16th.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Well said Sir!
Of Di Canio, would we take him for next season if relegated this one and if appointed in the summer?
Yes of course we would.
So, GERRIM IN NOW!
Yes he's a gamble, yes he's a nutter, yes he's great copy, yes he's entertaining - he's also ambitious, passionate, has a great sense of justice, sweeps snow as well as Cloughie drove or painted and will remind our persons that no-one is bigger than the club than him!
It'll be a love affair - it might just save us, it might just get us straight back up - whatever happens, it will be fun.

Agree6 Disagree0

All we have seen lately is Mon with his head in his hands.
We need a manager who actually manages a team.
Players like Seb showed their frustration at times, showing that at least some of the team care.
Bring in a manager with real passion and we could stand a chance of staying up.

mclarens agent has come out and said he has not been approached for the job and that we already have our new manager agreed. all over twitter di cannio is that man. bit of a gamble to me would have preffered di matteo but you can't knock di cannio passion.

Ellis Short is a very shrewd man - even if MON kept us up he probably would have gone - wasn't motivating the team. A new face will change the dynamic and should lift the team. If Short had left it until we'd been relegated then the choice of manager would have been much more limited - now even if we go down we should be in a better position to bounce back as we will have a stronger manager.

I see Mclaren coming, he's available, knows the area and the fans, and he has a lot of experience.

Why not mcclaren. got smoggies into europe

Newcastle fan here, seems strange to sack mon before the big match? But hey ho. I think that we have both struggled this season, but did not see this coming at all. Pardew could easily have been sacked too. steve mcclaren for you boys me thinks, or whatshis face. big ron or alan curbishley lol good luck anyway, hopefully none of the above as I would not wish any of them on anyone.

Now its squeeky bum time.
The relegation candidates around us won't like this news of Oneill's sacking because if we kept him we were down, a new manager gives us half a chance.

We have so ton at home stoke home, a derby, Everton home all winnable games.

Newcastle keep going on how they have great players, they keep losing to and are in deep trouble like the rest of us at the bottom, they also have the Mickey mouse Europe as a distraction.

Lets get behind the lads because I think we can stay up.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Thing is, our home form has been quite formidable we've won all 3 of our home games with our new signings but away form is terrible, don't know what to expect for the Derby, good luck for the rest of the season.

Loved seeing john o'shay tear past young then meg I forgot then wip a left foot cross that was terrible
Shows the players wants to attack

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Nothing wrong with the cross mate just didn't have players wanting to get on the end of it. he was one of the only players on the field showing any heart. if we don't get a manager in before Chelsea I could see o'shea getting the job as player manager.

I for one like to see bramble make one of his lunging tackles that exelently take the ball I mean the players legs away. Some times he's good some times he's bad
Bennisimo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Defence did nothing wrong yesterday bramble had no chance of getting out of the way. on stats I bet that is the least chances Manchester United have been restricted to this season the problem being no one to stick the ball in up front and the slowness of our midfield to get forward

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Was hoping mon succeded but it wasn't meant to be just hope ellis short gets the right man in as for mon doing his job there is a certain manager up the road doing a fine job at the moment {Ed024's Note -Up the road ....Scotland ???}
