Lets not bury your heads in the sand lads. Against Newcastle it was your cup final, you won and wanted it more so fair enough. Now Poyet is playing the same lads who nearly got you relegated, O`Shea, Cattermole, Bardsley, Larsson, Gardner, Cruella, Johnson are championship standard at best. Di Canio wanted to change it but these easy living parasites got him out. Poyet? Same will happen to him. I for one, do not want you relegated as I think the banter between the fans is, more often than not, good craic. The biggest problem with the big squad you have, will be offloading the rubbish who are on stupid wages. Good Luck.

Usual dull patronising mag clap trap but there's a germ of sense here. Surely we have better players than those playing. I can't figure poyet out at the moment as he seems to be pretty switched on tactically and motivationally. I absolutely am not criticising Poyet, I just can't figure out what's going on in his head.

Agree0 Disagree0

In my opinion, I think you should have never have sacked PDC.

You were playing good football, on another day you would of got 4 points from the arsenal and Fulham games.

He was strict, but he got determination, fitness and passion out of your players, he bought in 14 new players and only had 5 games to prove himself which is ridiculous.

Apparently short sacked him because the players were making "complaints" about him, because he is strict etc. PDC is very much like marmite, you either love him or you hate him, but the way I see it, players like bardsley, Johnson, gardner, cuellar just too lazy, or "not Man enough" if you like. Yes you will get players like them, but you don't sack the manager because of them. I bet you if we were in January/February an you still had PDC, most of your players will be used to him and will see the other side of the coin and will want to play for him.

I like his strictness and coaching style. I think the premier league needs more managers like him who aren't afraid to give players like bardsley a kick up the backside. It's managers like him that can make British players more determined and would be good for academy's, as there's too many youth players that are English that are just so lazy and would rather play Xbox than do extra training.

Just my thoughts anyway

I liked him and his methods to a certain point, fitness yes, but
No tomato sauce, no smiling, no laughing, telling everyone that they are not good enough, ridiculing people in front of the entire squad, you might as well tell them to play naked its that embarrassing

He expected the up most of his players which is good, but he thought he was God

So come on Poyet's boys
play like Stokoe's boys
we'll go wild wild wild
we'll go wild wild wild

Loving the enthusiasm and got the right attitude mate. You either block football out of your life for the next few months until the pains over or you have a few beers and do what we do best and take the p*** out of ourselves, not saying which ones the right answer though. I remember going to Southend away and lost 3-1 a few years ago to put us bottom of the championship, it was ridiculously one of my fav away days because banter during and after the game was fantastic. We actually went onto to win the league. so what i'm saying is were going to win the league. Only joking but no point being so wound up, the players think flying in 2 footed proves loyalty to us but we all know they are a shambles. Still don't think anyone should be judging Poyet for a long long time because he knows himself getting some balance and style to the side is a massive massive job and isn't going to be done overnight. Still wouldn't swap my club for anything.

Wait, we aren't winning the league
NOOOOOOOO

Yeah, well put LemonChops
It's hard being a Sunderland fan but things will' eventually' turn around, the question is when, a week, a month, next season?

I never really put too much faith or expectancy onto a manager but its different for me and Poyet, he is a tactical genius and what turns out, a fantastic man to man manager
1st half we were horrible, 2nd half with nine men, we were honourable, I could only wish to hear what he told them sorry suckers at half time to give a heart warming show like that which made us and Poyet "proud"…but when will we compete as a TEAM, fight for each other and the fans consistently
I don't know what to expect, no one does, it could continue like this, individuals letting the team down each week or maybe, hopefully like you say LemonChops turn tragedy into something along the lines of positive

Haha it took me all afternoon to write that though, I thought I was Churchill, nearly missed my roast dinner. Having worked down south for a while they can have all the trophies they want but they'll never even come close to matching the passion we have up here for our clubs and altho it makes us angry and talk daft at times (like i'm doing now) i'll still be as fanatical as ever, as will most people on here who at the moment think they won't be, its what makes us great. Just got to keep that blind loyalty until one day just maybe we'll have the parties of all parties. i'm coming off this site for a week now as I've got a feeling this post is just going to be very embarassing when I read it back.

We are currently in hell gentlemen, but we have the opportunity to fight, fight our way back into the light, the light we call success, driven by the hope we possess, a poor mans word which reveals the pain and fight of their past.
And if hope is lost, we will all step into the darkness together as we are United in one, our city is our home, our fans are our brothers, our players are our heroes, our club is our love, football is the game, football is our life.
No matter what happens good or bad, long or short we will be there for the army we serve, the life we live, the breath we take, the skin we wear…SAFC

(I'm sorry everyone, this is completely off topic, I'm just experiencing so much enjoyment with Lemon Chops on our inspirational speeches)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha I can't compete with that, you win. If you just made that up on the spot then you are a wasted talent. Ed can we make it compulsory that every new user must give an inspirational team talk because I've already forgotten the score at the weekend, this is the future mate.

Thank you for the compliment

Aye, fightand you may die. run and you ll live at least awhile. dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they never take our freedom.

The time came for you to grow up, be your own man and take on the world, and you did, but somewhere along the line you lost your way, you stopped being you, when things went wrong you started looking for something to blame, like a big shadow.
Let me tell you something you already know, the world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, it's a very mean and Nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if ya let it, you me, nobody is gunna hit as hard as life, but it ain't about how hard ya hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep movin forward, how much you can take and keep movin forward, that's how winning is done! Now if you know what your worth then go out and get what your worth, but don't be going pointing fingers saying, you ain't where you wanna be because of him or her
Cowards do that and that ain't you!
You're better than that!

Can anyone really answer why we come on here and waste minutes of our lives which could one day be vital to us.
we endeavour every week to hopefully predict the team we feel will bring us some level of joy, has gus watched any of our earlier games and seen the shifts that celutska, roberge, diakite, giaccherini and even mavrias put in they all to a man look more committed than the dross poyet is fielding the same dross that scraped narrowly past relegation last season
its not working with this lot let's try to salvage something
look even I am doing it as if it makes a blind difference what I say or think I give up I do

{Ed002's Note - If you are not using up these "minutes" here they are being used for something else. You cannot store them up and use them later. I am sorry to shatter this illusion for you.}

You know a team is boring its fans when they start becoming philosophical about it all. Times are hard indeed.

At least we're not marching against our club in the same city we destroyed;)

what a mess our club is in at the moment. we had a manager who wanted to make the changes but didn't have the balls. he should have started the season with his new signings as the players from last season were rubbish.

then he would have sent a message to last years crap that they are not worthy of a red and white shirt and this cost him his job as they got their own way and out the door went pdc. next we have installed a manager who is clueless also it seems he wants to keep a happy dressing room so he gives those crap players a start. i'm afraid that unless poyet mans up to the players and starts realising that the likes of Larsson oshea bardsley cuellar Johnson gardner won and Cattermole are not premiership players then we are nailed on to get relegated which in an ideal world would be good so we can move on the deadwood in the club but as football shows if we go down we are not certain to come back up.

as for yesterdays performance
what can you say, the tackle on meyler was shocking i'm just glad the lad is ok as we know ourselves how close this lad has been to having his career twice nearly finished by injury and I for one still think we should have kept him. as for the Cattermole incident I have been saying for ages on here how well he does winning the ball but his distribution is northern league class he won the ball well then gave it away then out of frustration sets out to lame the player and he started to walk even before the ref got his card out this show the intention he had and i'm sorry to say this but the game doesn't need players in it like Cattermole and he shouldn't wear a sunderland shirt again. sorry for the long post lads but i'm so frustrated at what is happening at our beloved club.
