Who believes Sunderland will return at the first attempt to the Prem? And will Moyes still be in charge by then?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2017 21:14:36
well events have happened since then. i'm glad Moyes has gone ed BUT why didn't he do this after the Bournemouth game when we were relegated? it leaves us in limbo with the manager situation . contracts and players we desperately need to try and get us back in the Premiership! i'm not confident Short has the ability to chose the right manager personally i'd go for Nigel Pearson with Kevin Phillips as his assistant . or we need a young hungry dynamic manager in the ilk of Eddie Howe! whatever happens it need to happen sooner reather than later and we need a hugs clearout of players and the sooner Ellis Short sellsthe club to someone with football knowledge the better!

{Ed001's Note - because he was hanging on for a pay off, but the club told him outright that was not going to happen as they could not afford to pay him off. It was all about the money, though I have no doubt he will trot out excuses soon enough.}

29 May 2017 19:51:01
Again ED a week after Moyes left the club and we are still procastigating over new manager! surely we have identified targets and the longer its left we are going to have the same situation as last season! do we ever learn? apparently not!

{Ed001's Note - you still have the same man in charge, who has learnt nothing from all those years in charge. Normally people learn by making mistakes and trying not to repeat them. For some reason he makes mistakes and doesn't see them as mistakes and so repeats them deliberately! I don't get it.}

30 May 2017 13:44:20
Agree tottaly! Ellis Short needs a football advisor and because he hasn't had one during his reign is the main reason why we are in the mess we are in! more than likely all the names linked ie McInnis . Clough . Grayson etc etc will be ignored and he will chose someone who is out of work (no compensation ) and can work with no funds and worse still he will leave it to the last minute so the new manager has no time to sort a team for the new season! . hopeless!

{Ed001's Note - the only time he did get it right was probably Allardyce and you then got shafted by England.}

03 Jun 2017 00:08:39
And now I hear that Short won't pay the £1 million compensation to Aberdeen for Mcinnis? eh! unbelievable! it just get s worse! the sooner Short goes the better we are becoming a laughing stock! . AGAIN!

{Ed007's Note - If Sunderland are looking to bounce straight back up to the EPL McInnes isn't going to do that. He'd need time and that's something managers don't get in the Championship.}

05 Jun 2017 22:12:30
AND! any new manager will have to do it without no transfer money? we need someone who can work miracles! . and shop in Poundland! lol.

{Ed007's Note - McInnes is looking for reassurances about the transfer budget.}

PLEASE! we are the laughing stock of the premiership!

I See the fans at last turned against Moyes in yesterdays match? long overdue as most managers would have gone by now but I can't see us getting anywhere in the Championship with this negative manager! and as I've been saying for a long time Khasri should have started games a long time ago as there is always a place in the side for skill be it raw at that. a sign that a good maager would have recognised a long time ago! the main reason for our demise this season is Moyes and i'm amazed Short has stood by him! he's aburned out manager and y hell leave and take the Scotland job which probably come up soon! good riddance to bad rubbish!

I am a Forest fan visiting your site in the hope that Mr Jermain Defoe may glance at it.
I would like to say that what he does for that little boy is quite staggering and heartwarming in an age when footballers all too often make headlines for the wronng reasons.
Sir I salute and applaud you for your unselfish actions and behaviour.

Another usual inept performance against a poor Everton side! why why why does Moyes persist in playing Borini and Larsson over Honeyman and Khasri? Moyes is making a bad situation worse and I can't see him stopping us going down! no plan A or B and surely he should take some of the blame?

11 Feb 2017 00:55:22
A win today or last week means nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2017 01:17:03
Well we never will win again if we play like we did against Southampton! it was an appaling display devoid of all quality! I can't see us getting out of this! the nearest we came to scoring was via Khasris left hand! and we didn't even deserve that had it been allowed! and someone send Pianna somewhere apart from on the pitch! he was beyond useless and remember it was Moyes who brought him in!

12 Feb 2017 20:29:39
To prove just how bad a manager Moyes is that we have a village idiot playing right back steady eddie billy jones. Moyes had the chance to sign Yedlin who the supporters liked but he did not and we are left with a conman

Jones is not good enough to play northern league he is pathetic and it would be better to play a dustbin

Moyes is a dreadful, miserable manager and if he is not sacked there is no hope. Give a local lad a chance to manage Sunderland who knows what the club means to the local population in Co Durham, Tyne and Wear and I suggest Phil Brown or Martin Gray at Darlington.

15 Feb 2017 00:34:23
Dobermann no one will come in now and a don't think we could afford to sack Moyes tbh. It isn't even his fault man. Gets so much hate where it isn't warranted.

If yedlin was good enough for Sunderland he would be at Sunderland simple as that. He doesn't play every game in the championship. The fact you still harp on about yedlin shows you are just anti Moyes for the sake of it and will use any excuse to point the finger.

Am I happy with Sunderland ATM? No of course not but that blame does not solely lie with Moyes.

02 Feb 2017 11:50:23
Big game this weekend. Moyes has some selection decisions to make as well. Thought defence did very well against spurs so does he bring Oviedo in or leave it how it was. Honeyman and gooch should start ahead of borini and Larsson for me. Honryman looks better than borini who doesn't look arsed at all. Gooch offers the same energy as Larsson and with Larsson not offering much creativity gooch could be what we need.

Hope we can pull a result out of the bag or it will be looking rather bleak for the rest of the season. FTM!!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 01:23:46
We need 3 points not one! . the teams around us are winning so we must play 4-4-2 and go for it as Moyes defensive ploy isn't WORKING! Pleas e David don't play Borini! its like playing with 10 men! Agree Gooch should start!

05 Feb 2017 00:39:52
Looks like Moyes might know what he's doing?

07 Feb 2017 11:47:46
I see Yakubu is training at Coventry? worth a punt till the end of the season at 34 years old not bad? could be a stop gap till Anichebi get s fit! he's in the same mould! the Big Yak would be a good signing as he's out of contract! another ex Evertonian! please DAVID NO MORE midfield players! in the summer well have a BOGOF sale of midfielders! lol.

31 Jan 2017 23:21:52
Usual story- immediate competition strengthening with targeted purposeful signings, while we seem to have no plan and sign on another collection of geriatrics and rejects who can't get into other teams. I suppose that our abysmal form over a prolonged period is a factor, but then surely that is related to fact that we have pursued this idiotic sticking plaster transfer strategy ever since Short took over. I can't think of more clueless management than we have had over recent seasons, both off and on the pitch (Big Sam excepted, as he might have changed things, though in truth he got very close to the new season without any decisive move so there is little reason to believe he would have). This time we will surely go down, and it is hard to believe that Everton FC 2008 will get us back up either.
Congratulations Mr Short- you have made a lot of second rate losers very rich, while steering the club to the verge of bankruptcy, and bringing year after year of gloom and frustration to some of the best supporters in the land.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 10:37:30
Well put, spot on.

01 Feb 2017 14:41:06
Its like you say the transfer strategy is poor because we are down the bottom every season. I feel sorry for Moyes this season. Had limited time (and funds) in the summer due to big Sam leaving at the worst time.

The players haven't performed leaving him unable to bring in any quality we have cried out for. Couple the league position with the fact we had to sell before we could buy and Moyes has almost had his hands tied for the entire window bar the last week.

I agree the transfer policy in the past has been poor but short has put money in to our club every season but unfortunately the people he has given the money to have made poor decisions (de fanti, poyer etc)

29 Jan 2017 10:08:56
is it SAFC that struggles to attract players or is it David Moyes. For me I do believe the club has a part to play in this as our finances are in such a state - but our facillities are second to none and our fans dito - so there is more that is good than there is bad about SAFC. This then brings me to the manager - I believe he has the biggest role to play in convincing players to come to the club - and from where I sit this is where we are failing dismally - you can't spend 6 months moaning about how poor we are then expect players to jump at the chance of joining the club - especially when you have hand picked 5 of the squad and have chased or won't play another handfull. Players don't want to play for us now who have been here for some time - that can't be right!- for me man management and carisma are essential tools for a football manager and David Moyes has none! I don't get any possitive vibes, see any joy or feel any heart from our manager - in short Mr Short he is lack luster and uninspiring - and it is this which is most dammaging to our club and our persuit of players

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2017 11:27:49
Regardless of Moyes negativity it is plausible to suggest that if our league position was better we would have no issue attracting players. For all I am unsure about Moyes the blames are to blame for that league position. Moyes has a say but he can't control an individual performance on game day. I feel for Moyes he joined a sinking ship with no money. He takes far to much stick.

29 Jan 2017 20:07:13
I Think Moyes doesn't want to be here! and is just going through the motions. its difficult for him as he was promised some money for players and hasn't been giving much! having said that his signings leave a lot to be desired so do I trust him with more money? no! mind the problems lie also in the boardroom and training as we can't even defend a corner and most other teams seem to be better motivated! surely in the championship there are some decent players? and looking at the fa cup teams this weekend they are certainly better motivated!

30 Jan 2017 03:51:32
Hello stokoe! Nice honest reply. The answer to your question I believe is that if short is going to stick with him then he has to give him some money from somewhere if not now then in the summer. No good keeping Moyes and not providing money for improvements especially if we go down. But I agree with everything you have said his signings leave a lot to be desired and I would love to watch a training session

30 Jan 2017 17:25:14
Well now we have 2 more injury prone players though I like Oviedo very solid left back and quick! Gibson? not sure mind like to have had Ulloa reminds me of Defoe as he's fast fit and puts himself about and most importantly . scores goals!

30 Jan 2017 18:39:57
Ulloa is furious Leicester won't let him join us. Would like us to keep pushing with this one as ulloa would be an excellent addition IMO glad we got Oviedo and if Gibson can keep for (big if) he will do a job in midfield.

31 Jan 2017 17:18:33
Think its disgraceful the way Leicester have treated Ulloa . I hope he keeps his promise and doesn't play for them again! . and get relegated. that'll wipe the smile off Linkekas smug face!

01 Feb 2017 00:36:40
I'm shocked they haven't let him leave but even more surprised that they said it was because we are a relegation rival. Yet they sell schlupp to palace? More to this than meets the eye me thinks!

28 Jan 2017 17:32:40
This season has been devastating to say the least, I genuinely believe that cattermoles influence would of made a massive difference, we would never of whimpered to the defeats that we have, I also believe that the biggest mistake was not fighting to keep younes kaboul as he had a solid partnership with kone, and that partnership made kone look better than he actually is, we should of ripped Everton's hand off. Also if we had the likes of Kirchhoff and khazri playing that makes a difference, so many injuries is unlucky. Ndong has looked a player but can't impose himself as much in a struggling team. Dilibodji is just, well dodgy, a liability, and now banned for 4 games. well done that man. Selling Van Aanholt makes sense, but only if we get a replacement and get a couple more in. here's hoping we can do it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2017 02:25:06
The Khasri situation annoys me! he's quick mobile and can play as a striker so why does Moyes keep ignoring him? . and much better than Rodwell Ndong and Janaszi . not perfect but he creates! give him a run in the team David!
