I See the fans at last turned against Moyes in yesterdays match? long overdue as most managers would have gone by now but I can't see us getting anywhere in the Championship with this negative manager! and as I've been saying for a long time Khasri should have started games a long time ago as there is always a place in the side for skill be it raw at that. a sign that a good maager would have recognised a long time ago! the main reason for our demise this season is Moyes and i'm amazed Short has stood by him! he's aburned out manager and y hell leave and take the Scotland job which probably come up soon! good riddance to bad rubbish!

I am a Forest fan visiting your site in the hope that Mr Jermain Defoe may glance at it.
I would like to say that what he does for that little boy is quite staggering and heartwarming in an age when footballers all too often make headlines for the wronng reasons.
Sir I salute and applaud you for your unselfish actions and behaviour.

Another usual inept performance against a poor Everton side! why why why does Moyes persist in playing Borini and Larsson over Honeyman and Khasri? Moyes is making a bad situation worse and I can't see him stopping us going down! no plan A or B and surely he should take some of the blame?

11 Feb 2017 00:55:22
A win today or last week means nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2017 01:17:03
Well we never will win again if we play like we did against Southampton! it was an appaling display devoid of all quality! I can't see us getting out of this! the nearest we came to scoring was via Khasris left hand! and we didn't even deserve that had it been allowed! and someone send Pianna somewhere apart from on the pitch! he was beyond useless and remember it was Moyes who brought him in!

12 Feb 2017 20:29:39
To prove just how bad a manager Moyes is that we have a village idiot playing right back steady eddie billy jones. Moyes had the chance to sign Yedlin who the supporters liked but he did not and we are left with a conman

Jones is not good enough to play northern league he is pathetic and it would be better to play a dustbin

Moyes is a dreadful, miserable manager and if he is not sacked there is no hope. Give a local lad a chance to manage Sunderland who knows what the club means to the local population in Co Durham, Tyne and Wear and I suggest Phil Brown or Martin Gray at Darlington.

15 Feb 2017 00:34:23
Dobermann no one will come in now and a don't think we could afford to sack Moyes tbh. It isn't even his fault man. Gets so much hate where it isn't warranted.

If yedlin was good enough for Sunderland he would be at Sunderland simple as that. He doesn't play every game in the championship. The fact you still harp on about yedlin shows you are just anti Moyes for the sake of it and will use any excuse to point the finger.

Am I happy with Sunderland ATM? No of course not but that blame does not solely lie with Moyes.

02 Feb 2017 11:50:23
Big game this weekend. Moyes has some selection decisions to make as well. Thought defence did very well against spurs so does he bring Oviedo in or leave it how it was. Honeyman and gooch should start ahead of borini and Larsson for me. Honryman looks better than borini who doesn't look arsed at all. Gooch offers the same energy as Larsson and with Larsson not offering much creativity gooch could be what we need.

Hope we can pull a result out of the bag or it will be looking rather bleak for the rest of the season. FTM!!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 01:23:46
We need 3 points not one! . the teams around us are winning so we must play 4-4-2 and go for it as Moyes defensive ploy isn't WORKING! Pleas e David don't play Borini! its like playing with 10 men! Agree Gooch should start!

05 Feb 2017 00:39:52
Looks like Moyes might know what he's doing?

07 Feb 2017 11:47:46
I see Yakubu is training at Coventry? worth a punt till the end of the season at 34 years old not bad? could be a stop gap till Anichebi get s fit! he's in the same mould! the Big Yak would be a good signing as he's out of contract! another ex Evertonian! please DAVID NO MORE midfield players! in the summer well have a BOGOF sale of midfielders! lol.

31 Jan 2017 23:21:52
Usual story- immediate competition strengthening with targeted purposeful signings, while we seem to have no plan and sign on another collection of geriatrics and rejects who can't get into other teams. I suppose that our abysmal form over a prolonged period is a factor, but then surely that is related to fact that we have pursued this idiotic sticking plaster transfer strategy ever since Short took over. I can't think of more clueless management than we have had over recent seasons, both off and on the pitch (Big Sam excepted, as he might have changed things, though in truth he got very close to the new season without any decisive move so there is little reason to believe he would have). This time we will surely go down, and it is hard to believe that Everton FC 2008 will get us back up either.
Congratulations Mr Short- you have made a lot of second rate losers very rich, while steering the club to the verge of bankruptcy, and bringing year after year of gloom and frustration to some of the best supporters in the land.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 10:37:30
Well put, spot on.

01 Feb 2017 14:41:06
Its like you say the transfer strategy is poor because we are down the bottom every season. I feel sorry for Moyes this season. Had limited time (and funds) in the summer due to big Sam leaving at the worst time.

The players haven't performed leaving him unable to bring in any quality we have cried out for. Couple the league position with the fact we had to sell before we could buy and Moyes has almost had his hands tied for the entire window bar the last week.

I agree the transfer policy in the past has been poor but short has put money in to our club every season but unfortunately the people he has given the money to have made poor decisions (de fanti, poyer etc)

29 Jan 2017 10:08:56
is it SAFC that struggles to attract players or is it David Moyes. For me I do believe the club has a part to play in this as our finances are in such a state - but our facillities are second to none and our fans dito - so there is more that is good than there is bad about SAFC. This then brings me to the manager - I believe he has the biggest role to play in convincing players to come to the club - and from where I sit this is where we are failing dismally - you can't spend 6 months moaning about how poor we are then expect players to jump at the chance of joining the club - especially when you have hand picked 5 of the squad and have chased or won't play another handfull. Players don't want to play for us now who have been here for some time - that can't be right!- for me man management and carisma are essential tools for a football manager and David Moyes has none! I don't get any possitive vibes, see any joy or feel any heart from our manager - in short Mr Short he is lack luster and uninspiring - and it is this which is most dammaging to our club and our persuit of players

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2017 11:27:49
Regardless of Moyes negativity it is plausible to suggest that if our league position was better we would have no issue attracting players. For all I am unsure about Moyes the blames are to blame for that league position. Moyes has a say but he can't control an individual performance on game day. I feel for Moyes he joined a sinking ship with no money. He takes far to much stick.

29 Jan 2017 20:07:13
I Think Moyes doesn't want to be here! and is just going through the motions. its difficult for him as he was promised some money for players and hasn't been giving much! having said that his signings leave a lot to be desired so do I trust him with more money? no! mind the problems lie also in the boardroom and training as we can't even defend a corner and most other teams seem to be better motivated! surely in the championship there are some decent players? and looking at the fa cup teams this weekend they are certainly better motivated!

30 Jan 2017 03:51:32
Hello stokoe! Nice honest reply. The answer to your question I believe is that if short is going to stick with him then he has to give him some money from somewhere if not now then in the summer. No good keeping Moyes and not providing money for improvements especially if we go down. But I agree with everything you have said his signings leave a lot to be desired and I would love to watch a training session

30 Jan 2017 17:25:14
Well now we have 2 more injury prone players though I like Oviedo very solid left back and quick! Gibson? not sure mind like to have had Ulloa reminds me of Defoe as he's fast fit and puts himself about and most importantly . scores goals!

30 Jan 2017 18:39:57
Ulloa is furious Leicester won't let him join us. Would like us to keep pushing with this one as ulloa would be an excellent addition IMO glad we got Oviedo and if Gibson can keep for (big if) he will do a job in midfield.

31 Jan 2017 17:18:33
Think its disgraceful the way Leicester have treated Ulloa . I hope he keeps his promise and doesn't play for them again! . and get relegated. that'll wipe the smile off Linkekas smug face!

01 Feb 2017 00:36:40
I'm shocked they haven't let him leave but even more surprised that they said it was because we are a relegation rival. Yet they sell schlupp to palace? More to this than meets the eye me thinks!

28 Jan 2017 17:32:40
This season has been devastating to say the least, I genuinely believe that cattermoles influence would of made a massive difference, we would never of whimpered to the defeats that we have, I also believe that the biggest mistake was not fighting to keep younes kaboul as he had a solid partnership with kone, and that partnership made kone look better than he actually is, we should of ripped Everton's hand off. Also if we had the likes of Kirchhoff and khazri playing that makes a difference, so many injuries is unlucky. Ndong has looked a player but can't impose himself as much in a struggling team. Dilibodji is just, well dodgy, a liability, and now banned for 4 games. well done that man. Selling Van Aanholt makes sense, but only if we get a replacement and get a couple more in. here's hoping we can do it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2017 02:25:06
The Khasri situation annoys me! he's quick mobile and can play as a striker so why does Moyes keep ignoring him? . and much better than Rodwell Ndong and Janaszi . not perfect but he creates! give him a run in the team David!

26 Jan 2017 20:16:26
I don't get why so many fans are complaining about people we are linked with. We have our hands tied so not much else we can do tbh. Contento (ex Bayern left back) being linked now. 26 years old and people still find room to complain.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 17:07:23
£14 million for Van An Holt? eh am I dreaming! where did that come from? yes good going forward but one of the worst defensive full backs in the league never mind the Premiership! . I just hope Moyes can get a decent replacement left back . mind there must be some decent defenders in the championship better than the back four we have at present!?

27 Jan 2017 20:55:56
Anno PVA for 14 mil is laughable what are they thinking! Great business safc (don't say that very often)

28 Jan 2017 02:29:22
Agree FTM if we were relegated he would have probably gone for under £6 million!

24 Jan 2017 21:38:28
The club is in a mess manager unable to get anything out of the players bringing in old players past there best most ex Everton player. Manage and short taking the Micky out of he fantastic fans

I feel for our club

I can think of a change for mr moyes let's run out to the dads army theme tune that will do it I am sure

ED or even the Jones calling card "don't panic Mr Moyes " lol

23 Jan 2017 18:22:36
why would we sign Robbie Keane - I do not believe he has any more to offer than Borini - infact I don't think he could lace borinis boots at this point - and borini ain't pullin up any trees!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2017 16:29:35
Couldn't lace borini boots? Borini is crap. Keane is old yes but borini isn't setting world on fire

24 Jan 2017 23:31:01
Agree FTM like Van Ann Holt Borini doesn't want to be here . rather play Embleton on the wing!

25 Jan 2017 15:17:02
I don't see why Moyes doesn't play the kids as I believe some of them could (if given the oppurtunity) thrive in the championship. Especially given the fact that we need to stop making a loss on signings and wages playing the youngins would save a lot of money.

23 Jan 2017 08:39:47
ED why do you think Moyes sticks with this 3 3 5 formation?

{Ed001's Note - maybe because there is no keeper to choose without Pickford? Sorry couldn't resist. Moyes is a very stubborn man which can be a good thing. If he can find a way to make it work he will. Problem is that I am not sure you have time to wait for it to start picking up results.}

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2017 19:27:33
Just think the players we have even if rubbish, play to there strengths. 3-3-5 does not work, too many gaps on the field. no body likes to play 4-4 2,-but don't like losing every week.

24 Jan 2017 23:32:51
id Gamble on 4-4-2 at least against the teams around us . at least wed go down fighting . Moyes is a frightened over cautious man!

15 Jan 2017 14:11:24
Well that result was dreadful. Outplayed, outclassed, no tactics. Nothing. General lack of effort and lack of quality. Moyes has no club he's out of his depth, he's finished but if he goes who do we bring in? Short needs to go he's dragged this club down to the rock bottom and a lot of the staff need clearing out. What does Bracewell do. He obviously doesn't prepare the players for the game as yday was clearly shown. If you look at SAFC social media you see the players messing about and playing footy tennis. Absolute disgraceful this, they don't care and they are simply crap football player. Major clear out needed top to bottom. So sad to see how far down this idiot Short has dragged us.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2017 01:05:47
Agree the club is in a terrible state from top to bottom and Moyes isn't interested!3-1 down and no subs? which normal manager would not change that . appaling! what a difference since Big Sam left the these players don't want to play for him he SO NEGATIVE! Short is just in it for the PR and money he's NOT a football man! disgraceful!

18 Jan 2017 23:56:28
The Burnley cup display was worse than the leugue one! it just gets worse no tactics at all Mannone was terrible Borini doesn't want to be here and words fail me for Diabodgi £8.0 million for him is the biggest fraud in Sunderland transfer History!

Another terrible display against Burnley! We are in total meltdown and the recent upturn has evaporated! no money a deteriating injury list. and would it been btter if Big Sam had taken over again? I can't understand Moyes tactics! . why why why hasn't Moyes played Khasri when we are crying out for a goalscoring midfielder and persisting with Nodoye? who can't pass the ball 5 foot! . and to top it all the club is run by a guy who isn't interested in the club and through bad management has ruined this famous club! . where do we go from here??

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2017 14:03:22

02 Jan 2017 14:18:06
Agree with that one chops, for heavens sake Moyes has put Rodwell in today. I would not trust this manager with another penny, even if one was available.

04 Jan 2017 12:24:53
West Ham bid £5 million for Defoe? / / what a joke! well lose £60 million if we are relegated so i'd list him at that price as he alone could keep us up! agree with above I don't trust Moyes with a penny with di abogi and ndoye are very bad buys and why doesn't he play Khasri or Honeyman in midfield? . goal scoring midfielders? Moyes is so negative!

04 Jan 2017 19:52:09
Bob, I would get rid of Kone if a big offer is made, he faked injury and is now off to Africa nations cup, he is not half the player he was, despite improved contract, and is not giving 100%. It says a lot about the player, get rid to free up funds and of course a replacement center half who would actually give his best, instead of this false sod.

05 Jan 2017 23:59:48
Agree 100% Chris about Kone, he's just not interested! sell him for £15-18 million keep Defoe at least till the summer, sell Lens who again isn't interested and if Short has any business sense hell give the proceeds to Moyes for reinvestment! if Short sells Defoe hell suffer the wrath of the supporters and I think moyes would resign!

14 Jan 2017 21:51:59
Another appaling display today against a poor weakened Stoke team! even worse than the Burnley one and the Sight of Van An Holt arguing with Janusai shows Moyes has lost the dressing room, he won't use the kids can't motivate the team and his signings are poor. can't see any way our of this! time to leave David! and take your defensive negative tactics with you!

15 Jan 2017 13:55:45
How can you expect to win a game with two village idiots Love and Djilobodji and my SOLUTION is sack Moyes, get rid of all the foreigners and give local lads a chance who know what it is to play for Sunderland

When a team do not even try the manager's position is untenable but with poxy face Short and Baldy Bains it will not happen.

It is time for the supporters who are the club to rise up and drive the management and owner out of the club and start again

I could pick a Northern League team who would give 110%, who would walk to Sunderland to play for the club and give a better account than the dross who played yesterday

16 Jan 2017 01:12:07
Which normal manager at 3-1 down wouldn't put a single sub on to change it! he's not fit to manage this club and to insult the fans by saying he would have walked out after the first half display is a disgrace! he's got no respect for the fans and I thought he would be a manager who brought in the kids but nothing! in fact Pickford wouldn't have got a chance if Mannone wasn't injured! sack the manager and the board! and the Burnley cup game?! save the pain and forfeit the match to Burnley to save further humiliation!

18 Jan 2017 13:42:35
You were dead right bob, humiliation against the mighty Burnley, who rested 7 of their players. One point though bob, I would add sack the players to your post, this lot are not interested at all, and losing just does not bother them, disgraceful.

Yes we've got no money
Yes we've got more injuries than any other team
Yes we're going to have to pay 10 m euros for a player we don't own
Yes we've got a shopping list of players from aldis/ lidl.
I like shopping there you get some good bargains.
Youth and experience ( promote from within or / and a couple of good oldies) .
Why are we all waged out?
Get rid of a few If you ain't going to play them sell them ( Kharzi)

Positives the man mountain ever since saints away in the cup he's been top notch.
Pickford sell him? 20 m + miggs?
