Rumour is we are close to getting Sebastian Coates (Liverpool defender + Uruguayan) on a season long loan which means Borini is not coming unless on a permanent deal because you can't have two loan deals from rivals. Also probably means (unless Borini has said he's not coming) that we are close to securing a move for a striker/winger.

Kalou? Welbeck? Anyone else?

sunderlandafc73

1.) I'd take anyone from the Kalou, Welbeck, Borini category, don't really want an average player brought in after all of this mess of trying to get Borini in

2.) Yes, I'm guessing this means Borini isn't coming. He's been quoted as saying he would only consider a loan and I don't see Coates being bought with the risks over his knee so it's one or the other.

If Borini isn't coming I would like to see Welbeck but I can't see that happening, especially when he's said one of the reasons he's leaving MU is because he wants to play as an out and out striker and we can't offer that.

So who else? Kalou, I'm not convinced about him; I always thought he was an average player made to look good by those around him. Salah, maybe on loan? Sinclair, seems to have gone cold now. Not sure who else.

A £2m bid for Ben Arfa?

Just heard that Borini will be happier with another LOAN move to us rather than a permanent switch but then he has said to be interested in a permanent switch to AC Milan, well I would just withdraw from him like we should of a while ago and let him sit on the bench at Liverpool cause in all fairness out of his 10 goals he scored for us 5 of them were penalties so he is not exactly a guaranteed goal scorer for us that's why we should use that 14 million on someone else who will get us goals. I would happily take Kalou or Welbeck if rumours are true about them, not long left though!

4.) Great idea about Ben arfa. he would be a canny signing. I have no idea why the mags aren't playing him

Billy apparently Pardew has the hump big style with HBA to the extent there is more chance of you and me together playing for Newcastle than Hatem.

Had a 2.5 million bid for Brighton's Will Buckley accepted.

Now for the hardest part, getting the players to sign their contract. (hopefully should be relatively straightforward as Buckley and Poyet have worked together, we can offer better wages and a chance to play in the premier league)

I know someone mentioned a cheeky bid for Khedira and I know every sane (or as sane as we can be) fan laughed and said '******* no chance of that' but apparently Utd and the gunners are trying to sign him for around 12m which seems a ridiculously low price for an international and player of his calibre. However if it is true, I say we bust the bank a little for that as that would be a fantastic signing and while expensive it would be a huge step up. Unlikely, but if they sign him for around that 10-20 mil mark then we probably could've competed for that and hopefully they won't start a bidding war. Wages aswell and if the player wants to come but you ain't getting anywhere without at least trying so I say full steam ahead. Ha'way the lads!

sunderlandafc73

1.) Have you been drinking mercury recently? Or are you just totally mental?

2.) I can forgive you if you are 8 years old
But my God, what are you smoking

3.) I feel his wage, his footballing ability, his ego the fact he's a worldcup winner and champo league winner he might just say. maybe?

On Adam Johnsons instagram (adam11johnson) there's a picture of Rodwell signing some papers and he says deal done, welcome Jack so I think that's tied up. Probably just editing some photos of him in the shirt as I type. (hopefully)

According to the Chronicle the negotations with Crewe over the comepensation fee for Max Clayton has broken down and he has now gone on trial at wolves. Seems to be trouble in negotations department. However keep the faoth. Haway the lads.

Ed last season Ricky Alvarez was mainly used down the middle. Though he does play either wing either very well. Looks very good if videos are anything to go by, fairly pacey, can ride a challenge, very tricky unfortunately he looks very one footed and not the strongest of finishers.

Welbeck has been told he can leave after his asked for talks about his playing time. Arsenal and Tottenham are looking at him but they probably can't offer much first team action either. Time to bid in my opinion. Ha'way the lads.

I do like that idea of a team, but definitely give them a while to gel and that's if we even make anymore signings. Keep the faith though, HTL.

He's just posted a picture of him back in training in the liverpool gym with half a dozen hashtags about liverpool. His heart is at liverpool, I hope Congerton has realised this and is planning on using that 14 million.
