your main target should be mcgeady he has showed his ability in spl, russian league and he champions league and if he gets a chance to prove himself in the epl it will be the best signing you have made in a long while.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Mcgeady done nowt in russia or champs league. And even stokes looks good in spl

Agree4 Disagree1

Well im 52 and i could shine in the SPL, he`s done nothing in Russia, hence why they are discarding him and Champions league? When? Nope, Mon and Short said Quality NOT quantity so Mcgeady,Fletcher? NO THANKS. safc1973

Look lads lets face it this is the way it is now with big money for players, we just have to accept it . Henderson 20 mill, carrol 35 mill, joe Allen 12mill jack Roswell 15 mill. Fletcher 15 mill. These are the prices in today's market and unfortanately we have to pay them.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

All english players over rated thats why england are rubbish

Agree3 Disagree0

Not sure you will win that particular arguement. Carroll, Henderson, haven't pulled up any trees. Allen, may turn out to be a good buy, but if he is anything less than amazing will be deemed a failure. Roswell? (sounds an alien concept to me). Rodwell will sit on the bench for city, money well spent.
Only desperate or extremely rich clubs pay over the odds.

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't know about bricking it but if the end result is the arrogant Moxey getting sacked, the here's praying for it going tits up. Is all we need is for you lot to buy Ward and i will be 1 very happy boy.

I am a sunderland fan and work there to. i can tell u now there is no deal for fletcher we only whant to pay 13mill wolves whant over 15mill for him and that is a fact.

Agree3 Disagree2

Can't believe your paying that much for such an average striker. You could buy a genuine world class striker for that price.

Agree2 Disagree3

Name a world class striker you could buy for that price??

Agree1 Disagree0

A world class striker 4 tht kinda money? Dnt be silly.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ola toivenan available with 14m euro buy out clause. theres one.llorente is available for less also. no chance of getting them but they are available for less

lee safc till i die ¦¦¦ a reality check to all fans saying we have a billionaire owner? due to new fifa ruling you have to live within certain rules? i was to understand you could only spend what the club generated? ? heres to mon getting our season kick started? ? keep the faith ftm

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I do believe under the new fair play rules its some thing like that which makes it hard for clubs like safc.....

Agree1 Disagree1

Have you read your own rumour site. Wolves fans are bricking it.
You now have two unsettled players.

Jeez.

Agree0 Disagree0

If fifa ruling is the cause, how the **** do qpr explain there finances also man city and the spuds do not generate enough to pay there way, and liverpool and nufc have major debt,so what is the rule here.

This is gospel Sunderland have made a fresh fresh bid for steven fletcher in the region of 14.5 million and this offer has been accepted by wolves it's daylight robbery IMO (princ£y)

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Bargain scored more goals and bent and carrol put together,

Agree5 Disagree2

Far to much money.

Agree3 Disagree4

Haha wolves fan in peace you been had you should sack mon jug ears worth what we paid 6.5 mil he's slow great technique good in the air but no pace will get you 10 to 12 goals and will go hiding. Good luck hope you make top six or hell spit the dummy. You should go get jarvis for 20mil cos he won't score without him.

Agree2 Disagree3

We've had weeks of people saying bids have been accepted or deals being close. I get the horrible feeling we will end up buying dross.

I'm hoping something good will happen but can't see it

Agree3 Disagree1

Wolves insider deal done enjoy he's a trier bless him never be a hero but will give you good service. Just don't get relegated or he will spit the dummy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Where u hear this from cos theres rubbishe all on any news page or ssn. sick to death of this fletcher rubbish. GB

Agree1 Disagree0

It's dead simple, next time Wolves come looking for one of our players we just add a couple of million on to the price and get our money back that way.

Agree2 Disagree1

Way over the top but we need a proven striker. Olsson and mcgeady signings aswell would make me a lot more confident about next season.safc93

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes we need aproven striker but average 12 goals a season aint him.mcgeady over rated only looked good in micky mouse league. Looks poor in average russian league. Mon wuill not pay 5-6m for olson we will just get cheap 32 year old who he once managed. Wake up man our scouts need sacking .our targets are ALL rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Wolves fan in peace.. Think you got a very good player in fletcher IF you've got him. Ignore wht other Wolves fans are saying. Thyre bitter. Yeah im gutted he's going. But sadly there's no loyalty in football 2day. Just wished this transfer wud hurry up and be resolved so we can get on and concentrate on the ssn ahead.

just heard we've had a 14 million bid accepted for Fletch, dunno how true it is but if thats the man that MON wants to build around then he's gonna have to pay whatever he costs, even though its scandalous!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Where did you hear such a thing?!

Agree2 Disagree0

Read it somewhere, can't remember where now I'm reading that many things in hope of a signing! Doesn't look like its true now tho cos SSN are saying moxey has knocked another bid back from an unnamed club, and still no conformation about any bid accepted

Sunderland will not make another offer for Fletcher. Current offer will remain on table.

Sunderland still interested in Defoe, Milner, Johnson, McGeady and Guidetti (On loan).

City alreadd have replacements lined up for Milner and Johnson in Sinclair and Rodwell.

Can't see Johnson or Milner going to anybody in the top 4. Liverpool only real threat to Sunderland bid.

Really wouldn't out Milner, played his best football under O'Neill and given his current poor form, Liverpool won't be in for him.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

All wants and are a wait and see. But Defoe will never leave London.

Think we should give up on Fletcher?

Loads of other players.

Agree2 Disagree1

Not a bad post but only one problem mate wages which i would be surprised if we could afford

Agree2 Disagree0

You are not going to get any of those. Need to lower your expectations.

Agree1 Disagree1

One word :Wages

all the rumours about ward are not true we dont whant him and the fletcher deal has hit a brick wall we have bid 13mill wolves whant in excess of 15mill for him he is not worth that amount off money i would just move on to other targets.
dave.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

It just depends who the other striker targets are, we could yet end up with Heskey if it goes down to last day business....strikers are a serious problem I would have thought this particular area would have been dealt with efficiently

Agree2 Disagree3

As crazy as this sounds... Heskey would be a good signing... sure, he's well past it and won't really work with sess, but corners, crosses from McLean and Larsson he would get the headers in and the vital goals. He also holds up the ball well to create chances. Don't be fooled. He may be good.

Agree2 Disagree4

Can't believe this were supposed to be looking for quality and Fletcher is our top target its a joke our owner is a billionaire and were scraping the barrel looking for crappy championship players starting to get pi..ed of with it now, we've had all summer and we've got nothing our best 2 players bardo and sess injured its not looking good

Agree4 Disagree4

Cut the crap heskey is as good as a waffle with grass on it or like a finger up a nose

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah shorts a billionaire. He's got that money by working hard and smart, he knows that you can't keep giving the club money, especially since next season these fair play rules will be introduced, and I honestly believe we should trust in MON, he's got a proven track record of success

MB

Agree1 Disagree0

Heskey vital goals in the same sentence ha haha take your meds son. He spends most of the match on his backside

Another bid for fletcher rejected move on martin Tiovonon available for 8 mill Guidetti 6 mill Saha on a free even Heskey. (ONLY JOKIN)

Believable7 Unbelievable2

PSV put 14 mill price tag on tiovonon.if we are prepared. To pay 12 for fletcher offer 12 plus add ons.

Agree4 Disagree4

Its 14 million euro, so would be cheaper than Fletcher. Would be a very welcome addition, really can't see it though unfortunately.

Agree2 Disagree0

He is a load of rubbish, we should tie saha up on a 2 year deal and go all out for defoe

Published on Tuesday 14 August 2012 09:21Sunderland have had another bid for Steven Fletcher rejected by Wolves. The Black Cats saw a £12million offer knocked back by the Championship club last week, prompting the Scotland striker to submit a written transfer request.

Sunderland have now made a subsequent, improved offer for the 25-year-old, who resumed training with the Molineux outfit yesterday after shaking off a minor ankle injury.

But Wolves have again turned down the latest bid. They are understood to want in excess of £15m for Fletcher.

(jim)

Believable5 Unbelievable0

It's a pile of dog mess I'm telling you. O'Neill should leave it at that and let Fletcher's valuation drop dramatically next season. Wolves will see they were too greedy with this one and next year will be forced to let him go for free or for around 8 million in January.

Agree3 Disagree1

Pay the money or get lost, simple

WOLVES left-back Stephen Ward is not thought to be on the verge of a move to Sunderland, despite reports to the contrary.Stories last night suggested the Republic of Ireland was closing in on a £3million switch to the Stadium of Light.

But the Echo understands Sunderland have not made a bid for Ward (pictured), who made 37 Premier League appearances for last season’s top-flight basement boys.

Neither have Sunderland made an offer for Aston Villa full-back Stephen Warnock despite the former England international being left out of the club’s final pre-season game at Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Martin O’Neill has been linked with the player, who he signed for £8m in 2009, throughout the summer, but Villa have not received any enquiries for the 30-year-old.
