Ed, these 5 main continental players were being linked with that fellow Sunderland fans are pretending they know enough about to judge as good signings, is there any evidence that they will be good enough for the Premier League or are we in massive trouble next season? I unlike most on here disagree that Di Canio will have more money than ever to spend as I think this is why we've gambled on an inexperienced manager who has more of an idea of the international market than previous hopeless managers. I think the freebies are more or less what were going in with and maybe a couple of minor monetary additions. Do you agree Ed? {Ed024's Note - I think there has been a definate decision to maximise bosmans - these can be agreed early so teams know where they are - i still expect PDC to spend a few quid domestically - that said Fletcher and Cattermole will feel like new signings so i don't expect huge amounts spent }

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Totally agree ed hopefully our new scouts can find us some quality players on bosmans so we not splashing out silly money on over rated players. I still believe we will make one marquee signing thou

Ed would you say viana, ba, roberge, diakite, cabral are all done but not being announced until july 1st {Ed024's Note - Not sure on the first two - but the last three - yes.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Jun 2013 15:33:06
Ed, what happened to diogo viana has he signed or is the deal off {Ed024's Note - I think this one might be done but wont be announced until July 1st when his current contract expires - his profile fits the way Sunderland are working - snapping up good players or young players with potential on free transfers - makes sense with the financial fair play restrictions coming.

What sunderland could look like
In goal mignolet obviously
Left back rose we know what he can do
Cb robarge good in the air
Cb diakite clumbsy but great tackler
Rb? Needs to be a good attacker as well as being able to defend
LM Johnson you know
Cm sess
Cm adryan better than sess 4-9 million don't call me delouded
Rm Kracic
Cf Muriel hopefully but doubt
Cf fletcher
Ed how would you rate that team? And do younthinkmits likely
Bennisimo

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Would put O'Shea CB
Johnson RM and Weimann LM

Other than that, your bang on

Agree4 Disagree2

Nah sunderland won't get muriel he's rated very highly and being chased by top clubs

Agree4 Disagree2

Mine is also a 4-4-2:
GK Migs
LB Rose (spurs £10 million)
CB diakite (bosman transfer)
CB O'shea
RB Roberge (bosman transfer)
LM Maloney (Wigan £1.2 million)
LCM Weimann (Aston villa £2.5 million)
RCM Sess
RM Johnson
CF Lukaku (Chelsea £16 million)
STR Fletcher

Agree3 Disagree3

Doesn't have enough defensive steel. Need a player like Catts or Alfie in the middle. Other than that and Muriel being unlikely, I'd say it's pretty good

Agree1 Disagree0

What top clubs are chasing Muriel
I can't find anyone who is interested

Agree2 Disagree0

Would put Weimann LM
wouldn't get Moloney, need a holding midfielder

Hi I'm the Gosforth Mackem,

Been supping a few ales in Osbornes myself and after several hours still can't think of any measure at all that would make Newcastle a World top 5 club. For me it would be success on the pitch. Having won nothing since 1955, Newcastle would however make it into the top 150 World clubs, at number 150.
Could our deluded Jesmondite be referring to the 'toon army' and their 'Cathedral' in the city as his measure of 'big-ness' I wonder?
Let's not forget folks, the 'toon army' was invented in 1993 so most members aren't old enough to remember the yo-yo years of 1978-1992 when the 'cathedral' echoed to the sound of empty seats and mediocracy. You see, not until the future of the club was recklessly mortgaged away by Messrs. Hall and Shepherd, did the 'sermons' become worth attending.
So my little deluded magpie, the reality of the situation is this; ask any British football fan who he or she would most like to see relegated from the Premier League and it would be Newcastle United.
You demonstrate beautifully why.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Beautifully put. and big clubs don't do WONGA!

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 17:24:11
Jesmond geordie you are an absolute muppet. One of the worlds biggest club? You're not even. one of britains biggest clubs you either need to sober up or grow up you're an embarrassment to newcastle fans (and that's saying summit). Safc93

Believable10 Unbelievable3

You really think he's gunna give us the least amount of money to spend in the transfer market for 6 years, especially when we need a lot of money more than ever!

PS: Ellis Short is now a Multi Billionaire, think he can afford to splash the cash

Agree5 Disagree1

Think someone's been on the drink and fishing with gazza

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 16:56:38
It said in the paper we will have 20million to spend

Believable2 Unbelievable5

We'll have more
Ellis Short is willing to spend a lot
More than O'Neill I think (he spent over 30m)

Agree1 Disagree3

Ellis short doesn't spend that much money on foreign players only on english

Agree0 Disagree5

01 Jun 2013 15:42:09
So it looks like Cavani may not be joining after all.

But it goes to show we have money to spend to by making enquiries.

Think we should take a look at Hulk and Jesus Navas.

Hulk would be a bit cheaper than Cavani.

Navas will leave Sevilla.

Milito wouldn't be bad either. Inter might get rid. {Ed024's Note - now now you naughty geordie stop pretending to be a Sunderland fan - you just look silly when your exposed.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I know, we all know you are running out of ideas to get under our skin, but this is just embarrassing, even for a geordie

Agree4 Disagree0

Wouldn't really surprise me if it was a sunderland fan. he hasn't really been exposed he's just taking the mick out of all these players you mackems are naming!

Agree0 Disagree2

BAR CODE ALERT!

Hi i'm JESMOND GEORDIE I posted the other day. can't believe the stupid immature comments from you lot calling me deluded etc.

Im entitled to my opinion.

which is, sunderland are a mickey mouse club, newcastle are one of the top 5 clubs in WORLD FOOTBALL, we do have the best fans in the world.
Who has a bigger more passionate fan base than us?
Entertain me

We are as big as Manchester United and if Ashley spends and buys bony, PEA, we will finish top 4. If he buys slightly higher level players we will win the league.

FACT

Im deluded haha unbelievable.

JESMOND GEORDIE {Ed024's Note - As big as Manchester United - they are not a wee club.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Nothing much to say about that, just what a load of crap and remind him that this so called top 5 club just managed to avoid relegation like us. To compare nufc to man united is laughable and I would like to thank him for showing us that the mag supporters still have a sense of humour.

Agree3 Disagree0

Ed is he really a toon fan? {Ed024's Note - yes he is a big Newcastle fan with a big sense of humour}

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm a Newcastle fan and it wasn't just Sunderland fans calling you deluded it was every fan that saw the rubbish you write.

Agree4 Disagree1

We are as big as Manchester United as a brand. The only thing Manchester United have over Newcastle is they have far more trophies.

Our fan base is as big most of their fans come from asia. Ours are loyal, vocal passionate. THE BEST.

We have so much potencial we could be bigger than Man utd, real madrid and barca put together if Ashley spent a few quid.

NEWCASTLE UNITED are a sleeping GIANT can't you see that? your deluded if not.

JESMOND GEORDIE {Ed024's Note - He's off again !!!!!!}

Agree0 Disagree2

Hi jesmond u want to grow up man u are saying newcastle r as big as Manchester United how meny trophy's as Manchester United won 35+ newcastle 0 u need to get in your thick head newcastle will never be as big as man u and a on a par with sunderland. from a sunderland fan

Agree0 Disagree0

You will not win the league - whos 2k fans out sung your 50k at sjp erm ours. top 4 you will never ever finnish there

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, too bad it's wrong though

Top 5 clubs in the world, it's a shame you don't play like you are, getting thumped by all these so called Mickey Mouse clubs, god no wonder your so argumentative, got to relieve that anger somewhere, excluding horses and buildings of course, lol

If your fans are that passionate they would stay to the end of any game, at the derby, never seen so many people disappear at once, but then again they had a good reason to leave, your own town needs to be taught a lesson

If you get PEA or Bony you will not move up in the league at all, because you spent all your money on the Frenchies, you've got to sell your best players to get good players, but that shouldn't be hard, most if your players are depressed and want to go
But no need to worry, don't think them players would warm to your "world class fans" ;)

So yes my friend, you are deluded
It's plain to see, right there in black and white, LOL

Agree2 Disagree0

So ED24 the biased mackem ED.

What don't you agree with?

Are we or are we not one of the biggest clubs in worlds football?

Do we have one of if not the biggest fan base in world football?

JESMOND GEORDIE

ps i'm scratching my head to why people are calling me deluded, I thought this was obvious and common knowledge newcastle are regarded as a massive club etc. {Ed024's Note - Its not just me who thinks you've a screw loose - even some of your own fans are saying it}

Agree2 Disagree0

This lad needs to go to the doctors like there is something seriously wrong or is he talking about on about on fifa

Agree3 Disagree0

Top 5 club really well you got beat 3 0 bu our "tin pot club"

Agree3 Disagree0

You should really head home now JESMOND GEORDIE tv have just reported that your village is missing you

Agree3 Disagree0

Who has bigger more passionate fans well liverpool man u barca madrid for a start silly mag

Agree2 Disagree0

It looks like he said this

"FACT
I'm deluded haha"

I agree with you

Agree3 Disagree0

How do I even reply to that

It's like you don't have a functioning brain
Just no.

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha even your own fans think your a clown! you entitled to your opinion but it being an opinion of a lunatic we just laugh along with your fans!

Agree2 Disagree1

Top 5 of crapness actually top ov he crapness league

Agree2 Disagree0

Stupid immature comments, lol, and you wrote this drivel. Look on your own site and you'll see ridicule and astonishment from your own supporters! First time i've seen both sets of fans in agreement, lol. Oh, and yes you are. deluded haha believable.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jesmond Geordie your mint. Top 5 clubs in the world, you will keep me in laughs for weeks. please keep posting for the entertainment.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jesmond who is the other 4 clubs with yous in the worlds top 5 like?

Agree1 Disagree0

Sir Alex rattled your cage for sure. You were vomiting because he called you a wee club. He was right, you are a big club in your fans minds only. Everyone else in the football world regard you as a bunch of perpetual losers with a sloping pitch, the FA should ban your club from the prem, as you do not come up to scratch for the premier league. Your fans are best in the world?Let me tell you that you lot turned your back on Bobby Robson, you will never live that down, you are in fact the worst fans in the world, that's why you are despised up and down this country. Chris-s.

Agree5 Disagree1

You are indeed entitled to your opinion- that is to a viewpoint arrived at through cognitive activity. If you ever have one I am sure we will all be glad to read it. In the meantime let me remind you that there are certainly more people in the world who have heard of Mickey Mouse than there are who have heard of Newcastle, let alone Newcastle United.

Agree2 Disagree0

If you're the best fans in the world why do you smash up your own town centre up and punch horses? I work with loads of Geordies but most are a set of deluded people

Agree2 Disagree0

JESMOND GEORDIE, hear your really from Byker, behind the famous WALL that houses all the Neanderthals. Therefore I will refuse to condemn you as you are not responsible for your actions

Agree3 Disagree0

Now this is definitely a deluded geordie, coming from a geordie myself! we are let's say top 10 biggest clubs in england but nowhere near as big as man u, maybe spurs but not man u

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm a newcastle fan and I must admit your being a bit stupid now

Agree1 Disagree1

Mag with a sense of humour. that's a first. More like mental instability.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jesmond Pleb, please enlighten us all as to why you're SO CONFUSED?! Your club has won nothing, fans up and down the country hate you. I can name Milan, Inter, Juve, Bayern, Barca, Real, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, There's TEN big teams and while I was thinking of them, your 'wee club' never popped into my mind once! Your fan base is because of geography, nothing else.

SCOTTYMACKEM.

Agree3 Disagree0

Celtic and even Rangers are bigger than the g0rdi3s up the road, this Jesmond Looney I mean Geordie must be one deluded unstable person tom spout so much utter rubbish, Mate you are giving your fans a really bad name, Now please get back to the home and under the care of people who will help you recover from your crazyness!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesmond Geordie I think you have been drilling the vein

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports suggest that Ellis Short is willing to spend big, around the mark of 40 million
Don't know if its true or not

I would be happy with 40m to spend
9m on Rose
5m on a right back
5-10m on a Central midfielder or Winger (depends where he plays Sess)
15-20m on a striker

Believable3 Unbelievable2

We desperately need regular fullbacks and back ups aswell!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think we will get rose the argentinian full back looks good and a lot cheaper now we have a good scouting network we will get a lot of bargains

Agree0 Disagree0

It's actually £20 million

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 14:50:39
These arguments between us and the Geordies are starting to do my head in now
They should stay on their site
We should stay on ours, who cares what they think, {Ed024's Note - its just banter until the transfer window hots up}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I know mate but if they didn't come on here and vice versa we don't go theirs where would get a laugh from some of their stuff is hilarious

Agree2 Disagree0

Its not banter its fact, sunderland are a small mickey mouse club newcastle are one of the worlds biggest.

JESMOND GEORDIE. {Ed024's Note - have you not sobered up yet ?}

Agree1 Disagree3

1 trophy in over 50 years for mags! Even that wasn't a proper competition! The fairs cup! PMSL
Your just a wee team! 0-3 LMFAO

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly don't know what gives this kid the idea that we're one of the worlds biggest it's all seems to be based on having passionate fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

So your saying that a little mouse can batter a giant
Seems about right

Agree0 Disagree0

Wot u drinking-bleach

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesmond Geordie, or THRUSH as he's more commonly known.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well! I see this toon fan has been having too many Disney spells! must be the smell of French garlic around Newcastle!

Agree1 Disagree1

Does'nt that thick headed ge0rdi3 realise that big clubs don't do WONGA. fact!

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 14:14:46
Ed what do you think of Krasic personally I hope we don't get him : underperformer, to old, has nothing but pace, high wages {Ed024's Note - i don't think he'll get a work permitted - but if he came he would have to take a drop in wages.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Jun 2013 12:03:06
Hi Ed any truth in that we've made a bid for River Plate left back Lucas Orban? {Ed024's Note - don't think so}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Jun 2013 14:18:46
Excluding all of the players on bosmans
Who do people think we'll sign

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rose!, Finnbogason etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 13:42:31
Obviously Neymar will slot straight into the Barca team, would that not mean Villa is available, yes he WAS a world class striker, but he's 31, might relish the chance of playing in a new environment at the end of his career, Veron did it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No way mate would be on 100k plus a week

Agree1 Disagree0

He'd want championship quality

So he better go to the mags, all iv heard is good things from their site, apparently they are 5th biggest club in the world and are able to win the league next year,
Nevermind they just avoided relegation

quality, just quality, God the mags are some funny characters

Agree0 Disagree0

We need players to play for the shirt NOT for the wages!. too many of them in the team last season!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 09:52:06
Still having a good laugh at Jesmond Geordie and also some g0rdi3 fans saying they will get rose if they go in for him!lol

Believable6 Unbelievable1

It is because they are a huge massive club, but I doubt Danny could play on their sloping pitch HaHA.

Agree3 Disagree1

I know, never known so many people so naive

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Jun 2013 08:44:54
Just read that krasic has claimed we're winning the race to sign him but a work permit and high wages could be a problem. Safc93

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The thing is
He's old, hasn't played on ages and he's on high wages
Is it worth the risk?

Agree2 Disagree2

Excellent player, I don't call 28 old but yes wages could be a problem.

Agree2 Disagree0

At 28, a footballer/athlete, used to be conidered as being at their peak!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 00:19:06
Ed which striker is coming then {Ed024's Note - PDC is keen on Krasic - but work permit will be a problem as he hasnt played much, if Benteke leaves Villa I can see Wiemann deciding its time to go and he would be a good signing, or Mbokani from Anderlecht is keen for the EPL. I dont know who's coming but these three would be options for PDC to follow up on.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

It depends on the amount of money, if Ellis Short is giving Di Canio around 20m, we should go along the lines of Weimann.
But if he gets given around 40m+ which is possible (he's a billionaire) we should go along the lines of Yilmaz or Muriel

Agree2 Disagree2

Aye mate but you need to remember Shorty is not going to spend to much because of the new rules, and let's face it, we all want the first 10m of his money spent on Danny Rose, don't get me wrong, I hope he's going to get his money out can't see him going daft

Agree6 Disagree0

What are the new rules?

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't and shouldn't pay 10 million for Rose. About half that would be more than enough

Agree1 Disagree2

Let's let Di Canio to decide

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally agree 10mill for rose is too much there would be better around Europe for less

Agree0 Disagree1

The thing being, Rose is a proven epl performer now, who is going to improve further. A safe bet.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 00:04:12
ed what is the cabral and roberge + BA situation {Ed024's Note - Cabral and Roberge are both out of contract at end of June - so no deal is likely to be announced until July 1st - if agents etc are to be belived we have agreements in place to sign both. Ba is slightly different - due to his age Sunderland would need to pay Le Havre compensation. He has openly said he is coming to EPL - so it is likely to be Sunderland or Tottenham (who have previosuly expressed an interest in him). MON had a look at Ba back at the start of the year - so have to assume we have a lot of info on him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 May 2013 13:42:08
Ed are we still interested in garry hooper {Ed024's Note - No that was back in MON days.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Still think hooper would be a good signing for us, still think graham will prove the doubters wrong and get goals next season for us

Agree1 Disagree3

I wish Danny Graham had been a success for us, but I think he has been a total waste of 5million. wish we had paid a couple mil more and bought a proper striker.

Agree1 Disagree0
