Rumours surfacing that Gardner may be on his way to a Premier League club. I think even though he was a bit reckless at times I think he was still a good player. Wouldn't mind losing him too much now though as we have many defenders in the news at the moment that are "about to sign" or something so I think that we should just let Gardner leave and go on with his Career.
Believable4
Unbelievable9
Gardner isn't and never has been a defender which was proven last season. Also has poor passing vision and lack of tactical nous to be a top premier league midfielder. can't be misguided by fact he's an excellent set piece specialist and a really good guy to thinking he should have a future at an ambitious club we now have. Its absolutely the right decision to sell him.
Agree9
Disagree5
Disagree as the premier leauge is a squad game and we need a big squad. keep him!
Agree11
Disagree2
Thats fine but when your paying your highest paid players to sit on the bench then there's something wrong. You can't have players in the squad where its clear they won't have first team opportunities unless of injury. Damages morale in the squad and sets bad precedent. Need 17 or 18 players of equal standard competing for them starting berths, I don't believe Gardner is of that level.
Agree1
Disagree1
I agree keep him, our squad was too small last year and the likes of gardner and colback are good squad players, we need to build a good squad it's good for competition.
Agree3
Disagree1
Its unreal how all of our supporters are wanting all of our players gone!some players are excellent team players and should stay without doubt.
the players I would keep:
sess
johnson
bards
fletch
gardner
seb
oshea
vaughan
cuellar
westwood
wickham
might have new players but we need to keep the qaulity we have and those players do have it!
Agree1

{Ed024's Note - Bards ? He has no chance of staying.}
Vaughan has been linked to Crystal Palace

{Ed024's Note - Palace first showed interest a couple of weeks ago.}
That is the most ridiculous list i've seen. And were looking for a squad of about 50 next season are we whilst keeping in line with the fair play rules.
Agree1
Disagree0
Can fans please check the rules on fair play before suggesting we keep everyone whilst adding 20 further players. 82 per cent of our turnover was spent on wages last season so Di canio has to get rid of anyone he doesn't see as first team regulars hence why he is looking to quality youth to bulk up squad rather than keep some of the very poor players we have on large contracts.
Agree2
Disagree0
Well if he is to be sold it is a massive waste of time him being on the plane to hong kong. good servant to the club wish him all the best if he is off.

Hi all. although I'm pleased with what I'm seeing so far I am a bit concerned on a couple of areas. the full back positions are a worry perruzi deal seems to be taking forever so I'm wondering if he's hoping for a bigger club to come in. We nowhere near getting a left back. I do agree we need another striker, pacy box player ala Phillips mould. There's no guarantee these players will cut it in the premier league so I wouldn't necessarily get rid of all our players from last year, notably catts or Alfie and Gardner. The new additions may provide a spark for the old players to pick up their performances. I would forget huddlestone, too slow and injury prone, we may as well keep catts. Meirelis would be a good signing and if we can't buy him maybe rose on loan again?. not sure which striker though. just my opinion lol, thanks for reading.

Mavaris and Peruzzi to complete there deals in the next week with PDC also looking to recruit a left back ( Cissoko ) a Centre mid ( Huddlestone ) and another striker following Graham's Departure ( back in for Vydra ). Bardsley and Cattermole to leave possibly to Hull, Colback also to leave before the deadline Possibility that Cuellar might to. Sessegnon may stay now after impressing the Gaffer also can't see N'Diaye been allowed to leave after Di Canio said he was impressed by is effort at the end of last season
Team Come August 17th Vs Fulham
Westwood
Peruzzi
Diakite
O'Shea
Cissoko
Johnson
Cabral
Huddlestone
Giaccherini
Fletcher
Altidore
Subs: Mannone, Roberge, Brown, N'Diaye, Larsson, Vydra, Sessegnon
Moberg Karlsson and El Hadji Ba to be part of development squad
Wickham and Ji to be cover for the front line
Believable2
Unbelievable4
{Ed024's Note - Mavrais and Huddlestone look very unlikely. More chance of Guidetti than Vydra in my opinion. I agree with your comments on Bards and Catts}
Liverpool want Cissokko. Hudds and the greek kid aren't coming we need another striker at least. Fletcher isn't training yet what happen if Altidore gets injured?
Agree2
Disagree0
Dicanio has said how highly he rates catts too kinda puts all your speculation back in its bin, there's also major concerns about mavaris medically
Agree2
Disagree0
Problem with Liverpool going for cissokho is they already have a top class lb in Enrique what will happen there ? They want everybody but because of this reason and the fact that Valencia are p1ss poor we might stand a chance. come on Paulo

Believable3

{Ed024's Note - I've not heard of any problems, just need to be patient, I'm sure he'll sign.}
Grham gone we've only one fit striker Ji isn't sure hell feature and Wichkam isn't ready we need 2 more strikers Mavrias deal looks gone and Peruzzi hasn't signed and no left back? not the best preperation for a new season? I hope PDC knows what he is doing!
Agree5
Disagree0
{Ed024's Note - Woooooaaa, steady on tiger. No club has been busier and we still have 4 weeks. We are already in a better position than the end of last season. Mavrias has fallen through because PDC is happy with Gianccherini and Karlsson. I think we all agree that Graham was a grafter but we didn't see much quality - I hope he bangs them in for Hull and then we get him back brimming with confidence. Ji is still unproven in EPL but he had a very successful time in Germany - chances are it will be a rollercoaster of a season - fasten your seatbelts !!!}}
Gianccherini can play up front at a push!

Yes, a rubbish team that still finished above you! Jog on.
Agree0
Disagree0
{The difference is - you still have the same team, Kinnear needs to get cracking or you'll be having a repeat this season, Cisse will go and will no doubt be replaced but you need more than that.}
Fair point, but we will sign one or two. The buys from back end will improve no doubt. I do think you need to be a bit careful, bringing in loads of new players dosent mean sucess, they may not gel and when you start splashing big cash you get big heads and that's not good for dressing romm and to be fair PDC is hardly the best as reasoning with players, if your not careful you will have a mutiny on the cards. Modern day footballers are molly coddled prima donas, all of them and if they don't like something they will make life hard, look at the cisse carry on its got nowt to do with his religion he wants more money fullstop.

I think I can safely say we have failed in our attempt to get Insigne, disappointing but it shows the club have fantastic ambition.
Apparently Giaccherini is to play in the Sessegnon position, so I think that means Sess will be leaving.
But we still have a Left Midfield position that needs to be filled
I would like us to target any of these,
Andre Ayew (OM/12m)
Vladimir Weisse (Pescara/7m)
Scott Sinclair (Man. C/6m)
Victor Moses (Chelsea/7m)
Sebastian Giovinco (Juventus/13m)
Valentin Stocker (Basel/8m)

Excited for the season, but I think we need 1 or 2 big name signing to really set the cat amongst the magpies, if we can spend 14 mil on fletcher (no disrespect to the guy) we should be willing to spend upwards from that mark.
That would make a statement

Ji for left wing. Watched a compilation video of his performances and yes, I know it was for a team that narrowly avoided relegation from the bundelisga, but we nearly got relegated from the PL. He looks to have matured into a great asset in attack across the field. He may just surprise you.
