I review this site multiple times a day but all rumours seemed to have ground to a halt. Not much banter either or replies / comments to previous posts. Guess we just RELAX now :-)

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - To be fair it could not have continued at the same rate. The good news is that are signings are in and getting used to each other and the style of play etc.}

The reason why the rumours may have ground to a halt, is because, if you hear a rumour and post it, some d**k head replies back and tells you to stop posting Sh***, so they don't have to respond. Maybe if some people realised it is a RUMOURS page for rumours, then we might get some more - whether they are right or wrong. let's face it we have been linked with everyone in world football, so they are not all going to be right, but let's just go with the banter. Nuff said!!.

{Ed024's Note - If you post a rumour some may agree some may not - thats just the way it is.}

Hi ed who is Andre loritz are we after him?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - Guess you mean André Moritz - attacking midfielder who has been linked with Bolton if I remember correctly. Had a spell at Palace but is now a free agent as he refused to sign a contract extension - not sure if he's at the standard of our recent signings.}

If PDC is not going for Peruzzi and Rose who are class, I can't wait to see who he's got lined up

In Paolo we trust

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Play colback imo, looking more and more like a top player at LB, he dominated spurs, out paced lennon and muscles people off the ball with ease, absolute work horse too that always gives 110%. I don't understand why people don't see this.

Agree13 Disagree4

Dead right mate. Give him a decent pay rise and cultivate him at LB.

Celtic want Fletcher
Celtic can f**k off

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed024's Note - And I want to win the lottery !!!! About the same odds of that happening.}

Celtic can not even attract championship strikers nether mind Premier League strikers. We have more chance of signing Rooney etc than they have Fletcher. In fact they have more chance in signing Norman Stanley Fletcher.

Agree7 Disagree1

Can Celtic afford £13 million?. after last season he's worth £20 million!

Agree5 Disagree2

GOING OF MAGS PLAYER QUOTATIONS 25M FOR KRUL, 25 HBA, 30 KEBAB THEN WE CAN HOY A FEW POUNDS ON FLETCH SURELY

I appreciate it is clutching at straws a bit but just heard Napoli have made a monster bid for PSG playmaker Veratti. Would that be yet more competition for Insigne?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I wish people would get over insigne and get real

After a Mexican left back named Torres for 5 mil and a undisclosed right back.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - Jorge Torres ???}

- Marvias deal is still on, it's not off.

- Peruzzi will still sign if his ghost injury can be cleared up.

- PDC currently mulling over an Ligue 1 left back.

- Insagne deal not active at the moment.

- Attacking centre midfielder a position PDC wants to address.

The Prophet

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Insigne is an attacking midfielder. id. love him here!

Agree5 Disagree1

We need another striker Paulo as Fletchs ankle is suspect always has been!. anyway when is he due back ed!?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - He's scheduled to start light training in August.}

So that means we need another striker!

Agree3 Disagree0

Altidore will be main focus without Fletch but don't forget that ji is also to be given a chance.

clattermole has been linked with a move away again, where do you think he will end up? safc93

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed024's Note - Not very original but Hull must be favourites.}

TBH i'll be sad to see him go because I like the tough tackling no nonsense in your face type player but he is too much of a liability. Hull was my thinking aswell. Safc93

Agree3 Disagree0

If dicanio has learnt anything from wes brown he will not rush into off loading catts or rushing him back from injury like his predecessors were hell bent on doing, a fully fit catts is a big asset but we were only afforded glimpses of that mixed in with the lad having to play unfit and with injections etc

Agree5 Disagree2

While Cattermole -when available- has some strengths, these are not ones associated with flowing football. He can chase and harry opponents (though fouls far too often), is a strong tackler (though too often fails to stay on his feet), and does show some spirit- which has been greatly lacking in the team over the past season. But he has poor close control, his passing range is as limited, he shows no creativity, often slowing things down when he has possession, can't shoot and is pathetic in the air. While he might have a part to play in a struggling side, he suits the role of perennial underdog and there is no place for him in any team looking for all its players to be comfortable on the ball, quick to see an opportunity and skilled enough to take advantage of one when it comes. His doubtless energy is better suited to the defence of lost causes than it is to the attacking football we hope to see here. The time has come to send him on his way.

Agree7 Disagree4

From the first time Catts clatterd a player and got sent off I thought this player is a liability. you can't win games in the premiership with 10 players. so good riddance but please get at least £4million for him and I hope Hull get used to playing with 10 men!

Agree3 Disagree4

Ive read some garbage on here but posts 4 and 5 top the lot, they must think the opposition aren't going to attack us and are going to meekly surrender possesion so they can watch us dazzle them with our free flowing attacking play,

Agree2 Disagree2

So your answer is to deploy someone who constantly concedes free-kicks in dangerous positions and whose habit of getting booked early means he either has to spend the rest of the game avoiding tackles or gets booked again and fails to finish it? I am trying to remember when Cattermole's presence meant we did not surrender possession, but I fear his aggression is a substitute for skill, not a supplement. Of course we need ball-winners, but they need to be able to win it cleanly and use it when they have it- running around kicking people may not be meek but it is not football either. If you think Cattermole strikes fear into the opposition you are mistaken. he is weakness to be targeted and his lack of pace, skill or self-control makes him an easy target. Putting faith in old-fashioned cloggers is about twenty years behind the development of the game, and one of the reasons we have been so poor for so long.

Agree3 Disagree3

You truely are a font of self importance, you offer nothing but your own unsubstantiated opinion highly exagerated and I fear misguided perhaps by the fact the lads from boro, maybe if the quality and commitment of his team mates had been of a higher standard he wouldn't of had to play injured or make so many risky tackles however your lack of insight vision and footballing knowledge are a weakness easily targeted, spouting off disrespectful smug critisism is a disease of the thatcher years and is a reason people like you have been so rude for the last twenty years

Agree0 Disagree4

Good to see the head MONK still 'winning friends and influencing people'.
He has a point though, and it's not a political or parochial one. If a midfield general causes 40,000 people to intake breath through closing lips 2 seconds before most tackles, isn't he a yard off the ball?

Agree0 Disagree1

Send him to the Toon!. they like playing with 10 men!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi Ed, I note you did post my response to this deluded illiterate's abusive nonsense, but he has clearly learnt to cheer the personic aggression of Catts because when you know you will be outplayed every week, you look for anything to cheer. You also welcome the chief MON apologist back out of the woodwork- glad to see he did not actually bite off his tongue when his misguided support of O'Neill was shown to be so much airy persiflage ( I know from his previous posts he relies on a dictionary so he will probably be able to look up what this means. Settle down boys- Sunderland supporters are a broad church and you are welcome, however little you know about the game, as long as you know how to shout 'haway!'.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Sometimes you need to be prepared to agree to disagree.}

Gotta love foolish arrogance aye, 3 enid blyton books and he thinks he, s oscar wilde, myself I tend to feel that every coach, player, scout clerk etc who have rallied to our cause (macmenemy and butcher aside) should be remembered fondly thanked and not derided or abused however it seems fashionable nowadays to character assasinate, abuse and discard whilst hiding in anonimity, bit like those murderous drone attacks and tbh if that's your church then like all others it has lost its humanity and you sir your humility

Agree0 Disagree2

And the head MONK is back with a vengeance!

Whilst the eloquence of his writing style cannot be denied, I recognise an underlying frustration in his supercilious postings which is reminiscent of an old teacher.
His paronizing style is that of the Head of English in a Catholic boys school. His frustrations derived not only from a sense of professional unfulfillment in a class of largely unreceptive pubescent teenagers but also from yet another knock back in his attempts to persuade a publishing house to run with his latest amateur offering 'Midfielders in the English game'.
Any embarrassment he may feel on reflection over comments he made to a previous poster he described as a 'deluded illiterate' is nothing in comparison to a recent staff room exchange between himself and a withering Sister Loretto who's age was unknown since her appearance was unchanged in 40 years. The incident occurred during break following a particularly energetic PE lesson.

Sister Loretto: Mr. Monk, those tight fitting track suit bottoms. Are you trying to arouse me?

Remember MONKY, a condescending person has no banter

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - Not sure that last line is entirely true}

. oh, and before you patronise us any more, for paronizing read patronising!

Agree0 Disagree1

Still preoccupied with catholic imagery I see- did a nun once speak harshly to you? Or is it a particularly small penis that takes back so often to suppressed schoolboy longings? I think you need to stay away from the Mills and Boone for a while.
But huff and puff all you like, your prose is strained and your opinions discredited- or have you forgotten your mantra from last season, 'In MON we trust'? Fortunately Mr Short didn't, and the rest is history.

Agree0 Disagree1

On the contrary, it was your apparent lack of bulge that had the nuns at the Sisters of Mercy tittering.
That said, I do hope you afford our new manager more time than you gave the last - if my memory serves me right, you were calling for his head at the end of his first half season in charge - this would at least afford me the time I need to work out a new acronym for you. In all honesty I am struggling with 'Paolo Di Canio knocker' - it just doesn't work.
You may be unsurprised to hear that my mantra for this season is :

In Paolo we trust!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - I think we can draw a line under that little tiff now - any more mention of nuns and schoolboys will have you two locked up.}

25 Jul 2013 10:12:53
ED. Why can`t the unwashed comments be filtered better on here, I keep on leaving comments on theirs, well trying anyhow, but nothing is getting posted. Is it so bad to mock and laugh at the skunks unfortune, never had so much fun and excitement in a pre-season for years and years

In Paolo we trust

Sunderland til I die

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed024's Note - I dont edit the Newcastle site so have no control what is posted and blocked on their page - my feeling is you cant have proper banter if only side is posting, so I try to include as many posts (regardless of which team the poster supports), I usually only delete if a post repeats a point already made, is opening abusive or irrelevant. Other than that ........lets banter.}

Thanks for that ed. keep up the good graft, in ed and paolo we trust now then

Dont worry mate!. the more Mag comments means they are JEALOUS!
