10 players in and you still have no functioning strikers or full backs, oh dear.

Time to stick colback to full back and shove Sess upfront LOL

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed024's Note - We arnt looking for any strikers - we're loaning them out. Lets wait for the start of the season to see where we are for fullbacks. Hows your signings settling in - Bardsley could do well although Steven Taylor must be really confused why JK would sign someone who would never get into your team.}

First Rose, then Sess, then Colback, now Bardsley

Says a lot don't it!

Agree2 Disagree2

Striker and full backs will come all in good time me dears!!!

Agree2 Disagree1

Sess has said in the echo today that he wants to stay at sunderland and be part of dicanio`s revolution. happy day`s ahead.

Agree2 Disagree0

Say's a lot about what exactly? Say's a lot more about you, and your own club, that your here, writing drivel. I'd be more worried about what's happening nearer to home. Off you go now.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - I think the poster was meaning that Newcastle are showing interest in signing Sunderlands players .......now Bardsley....I think that's what he/she was meaning.}

WELL SAID ON FIRST POST ED

Agree2 Disagree0

I do not think they were meaning anything ED, just slavering their gums on a site where things happen in the transfer market! up the Cats! RAW74

Agree1 Disagree2

Ah ok, my venom was directed at first post lol, misread second I guess.

Main site (www.football-rumours. co. uk) claiming Fulham after Sess and West Brom showing an interest in MacLean?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed024's Note - If he leaves I think it will be no move back to France.}

i see the daily star (sunday) is linking us to jorge torres nilo again. 25yr old mexican left back at £5 million. don't know where they got there info from but PABLO di canio likes him. whaaaat!

Believable1 Unbelievable4

So PDC has stated that he is after two full backs and a centre mid the left back we are after is jorge torres Nilo i'm not sure what that the craic is on Gino Peruzzi but i'd like to still have him as a right back but I have no idea about the CM we obviously need a playmaker next to Cabral any ideas?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Duncan from inter think we'll be back in for him now with n'diaye leaving.

Agree3 Disagree2

Cant believe what PDC is doing with the loan deal of Nadaye along with Graham!?. as there's a potential £10 million worth of players we could use to strengthen our team! why Loan Alfie out?. amazed at that has PDC lost the plot? you loanyoung players like wicham out!. unles he's getting loan players in?. strange one paulo?explain?

Agree4 Disagree1

Apparently we are back on the hunt for Duncan

We will find out on Wednesday if he is going back to Livorno or us

Agree3 Disagree0

Gareth barry looks to be leaving man city i'd go for him

Agree0 Disagree4

Well there's meireles, giaccherini can go cm or cam, if we get a rb Gardner can go back to his natural position. N'diaye out on loan, back looks not ready for the prem yet, insigne is attacking mid, huddle stone and Parker seem to have gone out of the window, col back can play there, but better at lb. Dunno who else

Agree0 Disagree2

To the poster questioning whether Di Canio has lost the plot. The main thing is to balance the wage bill, Di Canio eager to get players in as soon as possible so can't hang around until the end of the transfer window for these players to leave in case it falls through. If teams making poor offers for our players then it's right we don't back down and show a weak club. By letting them go now on loan means you can sell next pre season when we won't be in a desperate rush to bring in a load of players from all over the world. I really liked N'Diaye (Def not Graham) but I'd rather Di Canio had a squad he's happy with.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well at one point he was going for £8 million now its £5 million! I can understand if he's got aloan deal coming in!. anyway Nadaye can't be on big wages!

Agree2 Disagree0

Gardner isn't good enough get rid

Agree1 Disagree1

Games are won and lost in midfield, don't really want Gardner to be playing there he's ok at fullback and still gives you an option for deadballs but I'm hoping we bring in someone with real class for midfield plus a couple of fullbacks and just keep Gardner as cover

Alfred gone to Eskisehirspor DONE DEAL

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Only on a season loan, Duncan left out of inter squad to travel to the united states wonder if we are back in for him?

Agree3 Disagree0

Loan with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season. got to say; I'll be sad to see him go if he does leave permanently, glad he's getting some first team football though. Hope PDC brings him back after it, the lad's got a lot of potential.

GrantInRealLife

Agree5 Disagree0

Loan deal!

Agree1 Disagree1

If he's got potential WHY WHY WHY loan him out? ridiculous decision!

Agree2 Disagree1

Duncan says he clarify future on Wednesday

Agree1 Disagree0

Considering half of this is newspaper propaganda he may be just out gaining experience

Agree0 Disagree0

If even remotely possible then I hope that Paolo brings him back in January.

Anyone think Karlsson or Ba would be good enough for 1st team or is it too early to say

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Karlsson would. Bs certainly wouldn't.

Agree5 Disagree2

I think he will be a hit this season, coming on in the last 10 minutes and getting a late goal or two, I can see it happening

Agree1 Disagree1

Karlsson maybe but I think Ba will be on the reserves

Agree5 Disagree1

Yeah agree. Karlsson looks hungry. he has pace and a good touch. He will be great competition/backup for AJ. I watched the game yesterday and Ba looks like he has a fair bit of development to do but could be one for the future.
Personally I like Cabral from our new signings he is strong and comfortable on the ball. Something I think we have been missing for a while in the middle of the park.

Agree3 Disagree1

Altidore cannot shoot & Ba gives away a penalty in the next game.

Someone ring a taxi for Danny Graham.

Agree4 Disagree3

{Ed024's Note - How out of date is the Graham comment ??}

Ba needs to put some beef on for that position. A few visits to Notarianni's in Seaburn after training should sort him out; I reckon Karlsson is good to go!

Agree0 Disagree0

Altidore can shoot
And when he does, you'll know

Agree3 Disagree1

Your basing this on 2 games against 2 of the best teams in the country

and considering we scored more than we let in I think it boads well

Agree1 Disagree2

I think he means bring him back ed, i'm in agreement about altidore he's only here because short insisted we had a yank on show,
with ba its probably nerves and he will settle but needs to stop dancing the charleston in our box

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - He cant mean bring him back surley .....thats so outlandish I didnt consider it - Altidore has 13 games to score before we consider that. Graham's a great grafter but it just didnt happen for him.}

We need to see both players play a minimum of 5 games, and on a decent playing surface.

Agree3 Disagree1

I have to say, some Sunderland fans will always disappoint me. It's pre season for gods sake, give them all a chance. Altidore has NOT been signed because Short wants a Yank. This is the same Ellis Short that had the bravery to go against all the shortsighted so called Football pundits and sack O'neill, bring in Di Canio and keep us up. I will always love Niall Quinn but you can see Ellis Short is a huge step up as an owner running a football club. Absolutely no offence to Niall Quinn, the guy saved us but I think at times he was almost a bit too nice which led to a stale feel about the club.

Been told by an inside for the Evening Standard that:

Cattermole is off to QPR

Bardsley going to Fulham

Vaughan - Crystal Palace

N'Diaye - Turkey did say name of team can not remember the name of it.

McClean loaned to Celtic

Wickham loaned to Leeds United

Pickford loaned to Hartlepool

Ji loaned to Stuttgart

He said we are in talks with Trieste to start a feeder club and possible to loan a few of our young players to them but the talks are not going down very well. Also looking at Swiss Club Servette FC of Geneva has a feeder club in early stages of talks.

Thought Servette went into the history books and did not excite any more.

And next year The Lads are going out to South Africa to play friendlies. Said been management looking at training facilities and accomdation in J'burg. Also planning visits to Kenya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Ghana.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Cant see many fans wanting to go to johanesburg murder city of the world but can believe most of your transfer rumours though I've heard mclean is off to celtic for 2t2.5mill mate also ji might be given a chance to show something till January if he doesn't shine his on his way

Agree2 Disagree1

Also Bardsley off to the mags and Whickam off to QPR, so its mostly rubbish isn't it.

Agree1 Disagree1

I think its true about safc touring africa next year, I know safc are doing a lot in africa building training facilities for ourselves and african local teams. tk73

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope we sign more players, not that certain that were 'stronger' this season with who's came in, are we? any thoughts, lost Mignolet, Danny Rose, Fletcher not even fit yet

Agree2 Disagree1

If Whickham and Ji are loaned, that must mean 2 more forwards coming in, can you see that happening?Personally I see Catts staying. Africa, yeah ok, the other stuff, blah blah!

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2013 23:43:30
i thought the lads played pretty well today considering the conditions, I know we need to sort out the full back positions firstly, but I still reckon we need another top class striker maybe in the mould of defoe, small, fast and can hit the back of the net, any suggestions?. tk73

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Defoe, lol

Agree4 Disagree3

Jozy and fletch will do the job

Agree4 Disagree5

Insigne

Agree6 Disagree3

Def need another striker!. i'm worried about Fletchers ankle as he has had a history of ankle problems!

Agree4 Disagree0

Can't see any history of ankle or other significant injury problems for Fletch on Transfermarkt.

Hearing talk of a £2. 5M fee being agreed with Celtic for MacLean; any truth in that?

Might explain why the Mavrias deal is back on. Basically a straight swap at £2. 5M a piece.

Fair business.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed024's Note - Celtic are saying they categorically have not bid for Maclean.}

28 Jul 2013 13:35:14
i know its only twitter but the mclean deal looks on ed hope so as I can't see the lad doing much in epl but he would shine in scotland

What the 1st team could look like next season

___________K. Westwood___________
_______J. O'Shea____W. Brown______
G. Peruzzi_______________A. Cissoko

_____________Cabral_____________
A. Johnson_____________E. Giaccherini
___________S. Sessegnon__________

______S. Fletcher_____J. Altidore_____

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - When fit I think Diakite will be ahead of Brown.}

Manone in goal and that midfield would get over run

Agree1 Disagree3

I'd have Westwood in ahead of Manone although I can see Paolo's signing getting the nod. Agree with the comment about that midfield being over-run. Surely after witnessing first hand how Huddlestone can run the show in the middle of the park we have to push a deal through for him?
I also think the lad Perruzi will arrive before 17/08. After impressing during the Asia trophy I'd be tying Colback down with a long term deal as our first choice left back. You can keep your fancily named foreigners, this kid is home grown, more than good enough and young enough to convert himself into a Sunderland stalwart for years to come.

Agree4 Disagree1

Would rather have brown than o'shea, he's much calmer on the ball and reads the game a lot better, o'shea is constantly dragged out of position!

Agree1 Disagree2

Brown best defender we got

Agree2 Disagree2

Although thinking about it the shift he managed against Spurs and City was brilliant from a guy coming back from injury. Diakite ahead of him though.
