Sunderland are in advanced talks with De Ceglie for left back also in advanced talks with Rakitic which has gone under the radar. And lastly A deal for Koke looks like it could be nearly done after a 10mil euro offer was accepted tonight. Looks like Koke will replace sessegnon and Rakitic will be our playmaker Di Canio wants so badly.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

WTF!!
Those would be fantastic signings, if that's true Sess can go.

Agree6 Disagree3

Are you on Koke?

Agree9 Disagree1

ED, you insight on this, any truth

Agree6 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - De Ceglie is looking good, a number of sources saying we are close with that one. If there is anything on Rakitic I've not heard, he's also club Captain for Sevilla who are in Europa League he'd be in the region £10m so for those reasons I just cant see him coming. Koke is with Althletic Madrid who are in Champions league - that said he has struggled to make the first team and is usually only on the bench he again would be £10m ish .....more likely than Rakitic but I'm not putting any of my money on either deal.} happening.}

I wish I really do but I'd rather that French lb or rose and a another st

Agree0 Disagree5

I'd absolutely love this, but my suspicion is you've just completely made that up apart from De Ceglie, sorry

Agree6 Disagree0

De ceglie won't come he's stated himself he wants to fight for his place at juve reguardless of clubs agreeing a deal

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - If the club tell him he's not in their plans he'll be forced to move.}

More lilely with the french LB and koke and rakitic don't sound very realistic let's face it, unless we get a top 10 spot for next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you hear that we bid 10mil for koke

Agree0 Disagree0

M'Bengue gone elsewhere; we've missed out on him now.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 22:28:08
bye bye sess

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Most frustrating player for safc ever on his day a match winner but doesent do it often enough for me

Agree6 Disagree3

Totally agree. Although we never know what is going on behind the scenes, it doesn't seem as if there have been a long line of clubs breaking the door down to sign him. For me, this speaks volumes. I'd never heard of Al Jaish til now. We can't continue as we are, when he's one of the first names on our team sheet and dictates the formation we play. Just my opinion.

Season ticket holder for 24 years and in that time of watching sunderland no player has even come close to the flair of sessegnon. So while other club try and hold on to there better player's or hold out for a very good transfer fee. Not my club. we can't get rid of the dead wood (Bardsley, Gardner, cueller, Vaughan, Ji, brown good but made of glass) so we have accepted what can only be described as a f*****g joke offer so Paolo can buy another sub standard player who doesn't really want to come here but is being forced by there club because there club can't wait to get shot of them (giaccherini exception) starting to worry about are transfer policy at this club is it sell are star player's and replace with sub standard player's hoping there going to make it I know the season's only a couple of game old but would you be happy with mannone in goal if Westwood got injured after his horror show the other night also a central defensive pairing of diakite and roberge doesn't look ready for a prolonged run of game's if something happen's to o'shea and have we now just given up on signing a left back to push colback who has done very well or replace him if he was to get injured now for the midfield 5 day's till the close of the window and still no creative midfielder after being rejected time after time again by unproven or bang average player's (all the young Italian player's we have been linked with and huddlestone) leaving us with cabral who paolo has come out and said is not ready for the premier lge and judging by the other night might be right so why sign him is the manager and director of football not communicating Larsson for all his effort just isn't a central midfielder, gardner who anyone who has witnessed him play there will know that he is far to slow and just get's by passed meaning we end up getting over run, Vaughan see comment on Gardner so for all those who don't rate cattermole Mean's that we don't have a combative midfielder either finally striker's and man in the hole hope that goal the other night for altidore give's him the confidence to get more goal's but it look's like he may take a little longer to settle in than we would like though I feel he may prefer to play in a traditional 2 up top though he's not your traditional number 9 as I have yet to see him win a header and seem to hold back at the edge of the box when we put crosses into the box preferring to run onto ball in behind the back line, wickham a lot like altidore but does win his share or header's, Ji may have cut it in the bundesliga but he's not playing there know look's extremely light weight and lack's self belief has a good touch and use's the ball well when given time unfortunately that's something you don't get a lot of in this division never a number 10, sessegnon been poor in the first two game's and may look disinterested and want to be a way but there's also that chance that he can do that little something different and get you a goal out of nothing or get you of your seat and make a chance and when you don't have a lot of flair and creativity and the game's are turgid these are the little thing's that keep you going (fletcher please hurry back and Paolo if you really do want rid of sess then please replace him with a player of equal ability and not just some run off the mill or over the hill Italian like aquilani

Believable9 Unbelievable5

{Ed024's Note - Sess has not shown up for the first two games and went on the drink while we played our third game !!!! But his big problem isn't this season....it was his lack on consistency last season. If he was consistent we'd all love him but he's not. If your a season ticket holder you watched last season - you saw it for yourself, he wasn't half the player of the previous season. He's 29 and £5m is a reasonable price for him.}

So what's your alternative then mate? get o'neill back? Spoke all pre season about patience and your slating them already. Were deluded when we say were the most loyal fans in the country, that ain't loyalty, just negaive rubbish by a short sighted supporter. You spent an hour writing and disagree with all of it. Off to London this weekend to once again support and encourage my team and support the first manager that's hell bent on driving standards up in this football club.

Agree12 Disagree2

Tit 6 decent games a season isn't good enough can't afford passangers on the di canio train

Agree9 Disagree2

Sees has flair but flatters to deceive most of the time, he gets lots of possession but has little end product, crossing poor, shooting woeful for the amount of chances he creates, arsenal looked at him and bought corzola now there is a flair player, can't help but like him though coz we have been starved of that over the years, good luck to the little fella and let's move on, find a replacement and stuff it up palace after a good reception for SUPERKEV.

Agree4 Disagree0

I like sess, on his day he's brilliant, yet those days have been coming less and less often, and any player who didn't bother turning up to games and go get drunk and get caught driving deserves being let go.
I'd love us to get a big creative midfielder in now to just tie us together, we've other midfielders who can battle we need one with vision and a pass that can match it.

Agree5 Disagree1

Like Kenwyne Jones before him Sess is a player who has the potential to be a match winner and on his day can be totally unplayable. Unfortunately he lacks the one thing which makes a good player into a great one-Consistency.

Agree5 Disagree3

He has something about him, that's a given
Perfect for Fifa
Not so much when he's always inconsistent in real life

Agree4 Disagree0

What an utter load of tosh, If you think Sess was the best you've seen in the last 20 odd years, you must have been sitting in the toilets. Sell him, no good having one or two good games a season.

Agree7 Disagree3

To whoever wrote the novel your clearly blind. sess is a great player for 10-15 games a season but he can't do it consistently and as for sub standard signings. lol makes you sound like a horse puncher. we got 2 wiz kids, a brick wall right back, a powerhouse in diakite and a USA international striker upfront. another geordie mascaraing as a mackem

24 year membership to sports direct

Agree1 Disagree0

Allan Johnston Don Hutchinson there's 2 better than that overated Sess, he was bought to play wide left and was out of his depth, so they had to give him a free role and he was still very hit an miss

Agree6 Disagree3

The only thing less accurate than your point, is your grammar. I'm not sure what games you have been watching but they clearly weren't the same games I've seen.

The only concern I have is that if there isn't already a replacement lined up, we'll probably end up rushing into (and over paying) for someone who doesn't really fit the bill as it's so late in the window.

Agree1 Disagree3

Disagree with you ED think we should be getting more than £5million for Sess who was valued in the £15-20 million bracket a couple of seasons ago!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - Would be nice to get more but if we are nudging him out (that's what it looks like) then the buying club is in the stronger position, the buyer can also point to him not playing a full game in either of our first two matches and the fact that his latest exploits have resulted in him being dropped. His inconsistency is hardly a secret and at 29 he will have no sell on value.
Twelve months ago if he'd gone there would have been an outcry from the fans, not now.}

The annoying thing for fans is why Sess wasn't at the cup match supporting his team mates?. his heads not here or for the club!

Agree3 Disagree0

Not a USA international striker?? O M G they're so well renowned for supplying the cream of te crop of football players, remember Erm. Freddie something? ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 21:59:42
If its true and Sess has been sold - GET IN THERE! Bing.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Maybe the right time for him to leave but has given us some great moments and been an overall success for the club, not least because he always gave us a buzz during some dreadful times at the club and woeful team performances. Regardless what anyone says, effort was never an issue when it comes to Sessegnon, lack of consistency maybe.

Agree1 Disagree1

Better to leave a hero than stay to become a mcclean

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 21:36:44
Don't want to keep him but if we were to sell ji he would probably go off and play unreal. It will be interesting to see what happens in these next few days?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

29 Aug 2013 21:33:34
sess deal agreed with qatari club Al-Jaish fee around 5 million

Believable5 Unbelievable1

29 Aug 2013 21:29:01
Less than 48 hours after being arrested and charged with drunken driving, Sunderland forward Stephane Sessegnon looks set to move to Qatari club Al-Jaish after the two clubs agreed a fee of around £5million, according to Sky Tyne & Wear. Geoff (Cumbria).

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Must have been at his leaving do

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 21:21:31
Looks like Sess is gone for £5 million hope PDC has a replacement lined up?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

29 Aug 2013 21:11:42
Lewis holtby is available on loan, young Englishey midfielder. Highly regarded in the German league, could be a link up player we are after

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Good shout actually, rather have someone permanent instead of increasing spurs profits of fringe players again though

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 19:47:55
Monaco may sell Falcao if they have to start paying tax. What do you think?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Too expensive.

Agree4 Disagree0

Tax free haven if I remember rightly

Agree0 Disagree3

The whole transfer policy is a mess 11 players and are we any stronger?! . not really!

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - I take it you haven't seen the Fulham or Southampton game ?}

How about Bentner?. mind could you see him being tamed by PDC!

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed024's Note - Once bitten.............}

Defoe wants to leave! What about him?

7SAFC7

Agree2 Disagree3

It's never really about buying the player look at tevez £10mill. It's the wages that would sting us falcao is probs on 120k a week our highest earning players is currently Johnson reportedly on 58k aweek so it's not about the transfer fee it's the wage fees

Agree1 Disagree0

So you've basically read the metro website article about our signings and took it as gospel. We are in much much better shape as a football club with some drive and ambition and a clear policy hence the recruitment of recognised scouts and a director of football. Yet more alleged fans with nothing good to say about us, i'm more than satisfied with where we are at as a club which is something I've not been able to say for a long time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent but getting on a bit

Agree1 Disagree0

Cmon, don't turn deluded like those up the road. I know he went to Monaco but that was purely for money. We have not had 100mill euro invested in our club. We cannot afford him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whole transfer policy is a mess?? So you'd prefer Graham, Kilgallon and Maclean over Altidore, Diakite and Giancherini. You should work on Match of the Day.

Agree2 Disagree0

That's WHY I have seen the Fulham and Southampton games ED BUT ill reserve judgement after 10-15 games!. i'm still not sure about PDC but I hope i'm proved wrong!

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed024's Note - Better than me comment - read the three responses from the other Sunderland fans.}

I'm pleased with the transfer policy -we were heading for the Champioship with last seasons squad, what would you prefer - we do what they've done up the road and plant our head in the sand?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 19:21:56
heres an idea for the people who come on here. having read a load of comments on here pre season why don't the club have an auction over the weekend and see if we can shift the likes of Larsson, sessegnon, bardsley, ji, Cattermole, cuellar, wickham, gardener. Vaughan, brown and anyone else mentioned. then those who we can't sell let's see if we can terminate their contracts by mutual consent that is what I would call a good clear out but then what would our squad look like then and how would the players left compete for the rest of the season would be interesting.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed024's Note - So we put them on ebay ?}

No to wickham, no to ji even though he had a bad game and no to catts and brown the rest can go, sess is going for 5m, not surprised after the drink driving thing!

Agree1 Disagree2

Wickham? Are you crazy, he's class

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't sell Wickham but people are jumping the gun too early
One good game and he is a hero

I remember last year, he had a good game, but then was terrible again

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 19:17:45
sess is away. just had it confirmed he's off to qutar

hope we get a decent replacement!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Jeez. he can't even have a shandy out there. how will he manage?

Agree3 Disagree1

Only if he can agree personal terms!

7SAFC7

Agree1 Disagree0

Pretty sure he will agree personal terms, they'll double his wages

Agree2 Disagree0

For the wages he will receive, believe me the drink won't matter

Agree1 Disagree0

Where is Sess away confirmed, pray tell us.

Agree1 Disagree0

5 mill thought we might have got a bit more but nearly 30 and his heart doesn't seem to be here anymore would like to say thanks for his service but his been to inconsistent yet on his day which wasn't enough he was unplayable would like to wish him good luck in Qatar

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 16:24:39
So, a few days left of the window. If we could make any changes to the squad that could be no worse than £10m outlay, what would you do? Try to be realistic!

Here are mine:

Out:
Sessegnon £7m
Bardsley £1m
Vaughan £1.5m
Ji £3m
Cattermole £3.5m
Larsson £2.5m
TOTAL £18.5m

In:
M'Bengue £3.5m
Bradley £6.5m
Kuzmanovic £5m
Then I would look to spend my remaining £13.5m on either a small, very quick striker or a 6'+ creative midfielder. I'd then look for a cheap loan deal for the other one. Not sure who I'd have for these two roles.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed024's Note - Can only see Larsson or Vaughan leaving, would be surprised if both went, and not convinced anyone will pay for a crocked Bardsley. Interesting to see what happens with Sess, PDC has been tight lipped about his recent antics, I expect him not to be in squad for Saturday. Bradley will be more than £6.5m and Kuzmanovic is more likely to be a loan.}

Out:
Sess=7m
Vaughan=1m
Larsson=2m
Ji=3.5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont honestly see Larsson leaving, and a feeling Catts will still be here. As said Bradley will be more, and his agent also says he's going nowhere. De Ceglia (spelling)move is rumoured to be back on, and I would like to see Ki here, or maybe Sigurdson!

Agree1 Disagree1

Kuzmanovic has said he doesn't want to come bradleys agent has said he's staying, larsson won't be sold vaughan might, ji won't as di canio said i'll stand by ji, bardo can't as his foot is broken and sess is a 50/50.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sess is going for £5 mil apparently

Agree2 Disagree0

Larson still half decent compared to the rest of the pre PDC era

Agree3 Disagree1

We should go and get moussa dembele.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 16:05:01
Reports from Spurs suggesting that they would be willing to let Sigurdsson go if they sign Eriksen from Ajax, which is looking likely. I wonder if we're waiting in the wings.

Vaz te has handed a transfer request in at west ham, decent player on his day, also lukaku is frustrated at chelsea so maybe a possibility of him going out on loan again!

Believable5 Unbelievable6

{Ed024's Note - I'd take Lukaku but so would a dozen clubs, not convinced Vaz Te would offer anything more than we've got, apart form a bit more pace up front maybe.}

I rate vaz te. he doesn't suit sams style of play though so he isn't showing a lot of what he's capable of

Agree5 Disagree6

Championship level for me. Lukaku on the other hand.
