Like many of us know we have warped up free transfers on pre contracts for two CB's and two CM players with one RW player all young and used to Di Canios way of training. It also looks like we are in the process of getting a LB from south America. I would expect our next target will be a RB again someone young from another league. I think Di Canio wanted options in defence he can work with and improve he has also got some midfield players aswell. That will more than likely be it for a while as I can see our main budget is for a forward and that will take time but can see 15-20 mil spent on this area as that's what Di Canio wants most a world class forward and can see it being a name like Insigne or Muriel not really well known but a player that will be in seasons to come.

Ed what do you think about cattermole I think he can be a really good cdm but he needs to keep his head. {Ed024's Note - I would keep him - our stats when he plays are beter than when he doesn't.]

Ed if we have say 30mil would you say our six players coming in would be diakite roberge cabral, a Rb or krasic, a Lb and a St {Ed024's Note - Yes i would say that's about right]

Has everybody gone nuts including you ed? the lads championship level with no tricks, no real pace, poor concentration levels and is trouble off the pitch. i'm shocked i'm even having to write this. If we go into new season with him anywhere near first team then were in an almighty relegation scrap. Just to point out Georgia (yes Georgia) had 10 men most the game and Mcclean wasted possession time and time again throughout his time on the pitch. {Ed024's Note - We found to our cost last season the price of not having cover for positions, you need depth in a squad - if we are set up to play with a wide player what happens if AJ gets injured ?}
Got to agree with Ed there like, we've been down to puttin reserves on the bench far to many times over the last couple of seasons, got to have cover for injurys and suspentions
A predictable one trick pony. if we keep him we don't move on but I am sure Paulo knows the crack.

ed do you know anything on danny rose and are you asuming that diakite and roberge will be comfirmed on july 1st {Ed024's Note - my best guess is Rose will end up at Everton or Liverpool and yes assuming Diakite and Roberge will be confirmed early July.}

It's just that he has confidence playing for Ireland and not for us
McClean playing well against Georgia can't really be comparable with playing in the Premier League against teams that have all too easily found him out. If the Celtic rumour is true then I would personally welcome it.

We need to keep minglolet and if he's going to leave we need to hold for about 20mil for him easily the best keeper in the league last season!
Not sure we would get 20 mill mate but this is what I've been saying for ages if we want to show any ambition and improve then we need to keep hold of our better players weather we get 1 mill or 20 mill mate
He's still got plenty of years left on his contract, one if our best players

I think we will get a lot of free signings about 5-6 and then buy 2-3 players. They won't be huge signings more like young talent that we can develop.

Lets be honest though, Mignolet's an outstanding young keeper but still has a lot of improving to do, whether we sell him now or next season we certainly won't have him during his best years. If someone offers silly money then we are right to consider it and look to bring in a cheaper more experienced alternative and concentrate on using funds to put together a vibrant young side out on the pitch where sell on potential should be considered.
6.5m is a joke he is on par with joe hart for the best keeper in the prem

Cattermole is by far one if not our best player without him we're a different team, if we want to become the club we want to be trying to get European footballer he will be a key figure for that
. why would we sell Cattermole?. we needs to strengthen the team and it would be difficult for us to get anyone better, and even if we did we still need cover.

Right sick of crap Roumours going round. No one has signed yet but looks like diakite roberge and cable are all going to sign having agreed pre contracts. Next krasic is total rubbish he wages are massive. Next is viona or whatever his name is the young winger from Portugal which is 70% going to happen fits with what Di Canio looks for. Next we are not signing Rose we are after some LB from south America for 2.5mil which is a lot less than the 10mil fours want. Next we are into strikers and we have had a bid rejected of 5.5mil for Insigne unless we offer double that can't see him coming. Last one is Bas Dost this one I can see happening he wants English football and has goal ratio of over 1goal every two games last 3 years. Looking at 6-8mil for him which is within budget. So overall looking at 7-8 players in and about 3-4 out. Best signing will be Insigne and will be the big signing for Di Canio
We want someone along the lines if Muriel, Quick, Agile, Creative and can score goals
