Bardsley is back at the club following his suspension
He has apologised, saying that he is deeply sorry for his actions and can completely understand why people were so angry
Is PDC willing to give him another chance?
Well, we all know what he can do when he's on form
Believable8
Unbelievable2
{Ed024's Note - He's off suspension - but still unlikely to be picked ever again.}
At least he's come out straight away and apologised, not waited a couple of weeks till after the transfer window shuts then realised no body else wanted him.
He could play again but he'd be down the pecking order behind celustka, gardener, the rest of the squad, under 21's, grounds man. Worms under the pitch
Agree3
Disagree3
He's apologised because he knows his little plan to get a transfer hasn't worked Nd he's now stuck here til January! If I woz pdc I make him sit in the stands wit the supporters Nd see if be laughed at us then! He'll still b drawing his 40 grand a week though! The little weasel.
Agree3
Disagree3
I'll give him a 2nd chance even though he is a complete tool! he was big enough to say sorry, he has to knuckle down and find his form again to be even considered
Agree2
Disagree1
Look, this so called professional footballer thinks he can take thousands of pounds from our club every week and then laugh at us when we get beaten. He has shown that he does not give a toss about our club. His wag made it even harder for him to come back with her comments about Paolo, no good snivelling back now, the damage is done, let's see where he ends up now. Sunderland does not need Bardsley, best thing he can do is just go, without the phoney apology.
Agree7
Disagree0
Not good enough anyway.
Agree4
Disagree1
Itll be interesting to see if we are in trouble whether PDC will recall Catts and Bardsley?
Agree6
Disagree3
I hope he recalls Catts
Agree9
Disagree4
Catts is a good player just half a yard too slow which is why he mistimes tackles, as long as he can clean up and give the ball to ki or the 2 wide men so they can do the business, we have missed his engine in midfield massively!
Agree0
Disagree1
Sick of hearing this tosh about Catts. recall him if you want to play 80 mins with 10 men!
Agree1
Disagree0
In his last 40 games he has had 2 red cards, that ain't that bad

Come on guys. If we all wish really hard maybe we can beat Arsenal.
Believable3

Something tells me that the gooners are going to be the team to beat this season.
Bricking it for the next few weeks!

The fixtures till January are just horrible.
Agree8
Disagree2
In sorry but what, we have to play each team before Christmas and then after Christmas, if the fixtures are horrible until January, doesn't that mean that the ones after are just as bad
Agree3
Disagree1
This is what the prem is all about playing the top teams and enjoying the day can't wait me, think we will still grab a few points com on SAFC4LIFE
Agree2
Disagree0
Getting sick of people already accepting defeat before a ball is kicked! Cardiff beat city! villa turned arsenal over a couple of weeks ago. Big jozy can bully their defenders, I think we'll surprise arsenal and nick a win! Either support the team or jog on!
Agree6
Disagree0
2-1 to us, fletch and jozy, giroud for the gunners, villa 2 mags 0 benteke 2
Agree3
Disagree0
What I think the team will be. Westwood.
Celutska. Diakite. Roberge. ??
. Ki. Catts/Cabral.
Johnson. Giaccherini
. Altidore. . Fletcher.
Dunno who the LB is, Colback or Dossena, whoever PDC prefers
Catts or Cabral will be the defensive mid, to stop the Ozil's and Cazorla's
Altidore will play deeper, because we are always going to be second best in Midfield to Arsenal, so we need a big, strong player who will help bully players off the ball
Agree3
Disagree0
{Ed024's Note - Dossena probably 4 weeks from being fit so Colback will continue for now.}
So Fulham, Southampton, and Crystal Palace are Horrible?. so what about Man Utd. City and Chelsea are they easy!
Agree1
Disagree0
ED do you rate Dossena? as I've heard terrible reports about him? is he a panic buy or does PDC really rate him?
Agree3
Disagree0
{Ed024's Note - He's got a lot of experience in that position and that was what we were lacking - I think he'll do a decent job but might struggle to get Colback out of the side - depends if PDC wants to use Colback in midfield ????}
He struggled in the Premiership with Liverpool but as he's only been given a years contract it could be a stop gap till we get a younger full back like Rose?
Agree4
Disagree0
How did Dossena pass a medical if he isn't fit.
Didn't you say no to a very good right back because he could not pass a medical?
Agree1
Disagree0
Good point that as Peruzzi went on to sign for another club!. I think he goofed there and we've lost a quality full back!
Agree4
Disagree1
Peruzzi is a right Back, we needed a left back, dossena will do a job for us
Agree0
Disagree0
Colback isn't good enough, 6 months ago prople were booin him off the pitch and now yous all worship him because he had a few good games at left back the only reason he did is because ge can't pass backwards to anyone from there sheesh! 1 good thing to come from our last game is john o'shambles is suspended for 3 games hopefully roberge and diakite have 3 blinders to keep him out of the team, our fans are blinded by his medal collection, he's past it and SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Agree0
Disagree0
Post above how many games a season do you go to? None if you ask me because i'm a season ticket holder and never seen colback booed off the pitch! Safc fans don't boo off people who give 110% for the shirt! Hence why crazy corner chant cattermoles name even though he isn't a world beater! Post on here if you go to the games and know what your talkin about or if you do go to the games and boo colback I hope your barred asap for being so negative!

Why not keep colback at left back till bardo is fit? Had his best season at lb for us! I know he was a tool after fulham game and should know better but had he done soo much wrong in the first place? Them 2 have both got to be considered at lb before dossena for me! Reason he was given a one year contract? Simple! Coz he is not good enough and we had no other options! can't wait to see altidore and fletcher get going together think they could be lethal. Ki was said to be the korean version of steven gerrard when he first moved to celtic! Can tackle and pass well but wait till you see this boy pull the trigger! Great shot from range with either foot! i'm looking forward to seeing him play! Haway the lads big win against arsenal and all the doom and gloomers will be on sayin pdc is class! In paolo I trust!!

Thank god a positive fan! You speak like a true supporter
Agree7

If ki is that good why did he come to us on loan he would be first choice at swansea. think about it
Agree4
Disagree2
Well no he's out of favour at Swansea coz of de Guzman Britton Canas Michu he'd get in the Sunderland team just fine after the performance against palace!
Agree4
Disagree0
If Ozil was that good why did he move to Arsenal from real Madrid.
Come on give yersel a shake man.
Are you a skunk?
Agree2
Disagree0
If ki was first choice we could of pushed for michu
Agree1
Disagree1
Ki was given out on loan because he was surplus to requirements.
Ozil was sold for over 40 million to help fund a move for Bale. (Ozil was a starter for Real)
How can you even compare the two.
Agree1
Disagree0
It doesn't mean he isn't worthy of a first team spot, WHICH HE IS
look at Mata and Chelsea, he is without a doubt been their best player for the last 2 seasons, yet he doesn't get in the team, why?
Because he doesn't fit in with the Managers tactics, the same with Ki and Swansea
Agree3
Disagree1
Mata is still wanted at Chelsea, and Chelsea have midfielders coming out their ears.
Ki is not wanted at Swansea because he is not good enough, simple as.
Agree1
Disagree2
{Ed024's Note - Mata is still at Chelsea for the same reason that Ba is still at Chelsea - unlikely to play but the club wont let them go to a rival, if you think its any other reason ...your wrong.}
Maybe if they sold him and he had a great season with us they might kick themselves. If he goes on loan and has a great season they can keep him or sell him for more so maybe you should think about it! Could be clever business by swansea but who knows? I've never claimed to be micheak laudrups best mate but do have mates who are celtic fans so passed on what they told me! Some people come on here thinking they are alex ferguson! Lol chill out!

Now that all the transfer furore is over can I just put the cat amongst the pigeons and suggest that sess nd bardsley, knowing pdc disciplinarian attitude manufactured their own transfers! I no it backfired 4 bardsley because he got injured, but it seems a big coincidence that sess got caught drink driving a week b4 transfer deadline day nd on a night when sunderland had a game,
Believable4
Unbelievable3
What's your take on Roswell?
Agree2
Disagree0
Forget Sess he has gone.
1. Good footballer
2. Inconsistent
3. Lacked physical fitness
Why was he out drinking when he should have been supporting his team mates?
Sess looked like a world beater to us only because we have been starved of true quality that's why he has gone to WBA and not a top club.
Like I said he is a good player but he ain't brilliant.
Agree2
Disagree1
What! so you think that PDC forced Sessegnon to go out and drink and drive so he could get caught in order to have an excuse to sell him! Give your head shake man!
Agree0
Disagree3
If he asks for a transfer he doesn't get his 10% so why Wudnt he! IDE do it for 600 000 quid!
Agree1
Disagree0
Why do u think Bardsley went 2 a casino and covered himself in fiftys then put it on social network?he did it because he wanted a transfer Nd knew pdc would get rid of him 4 it! I think YOU want 2 shake YOUR head mate!

Probs the extra half million is add ons based on appearances. - Great deal for Sunderland.
Agree7
Disagree1
We all agree that 6m+ is a great price for Sess
But is it the right move to sell him considering the problem we are having at the moment
I'm not too sure
Agree6
Disagree2
Great deal yes but no replacement?. its a risk!.
Agree5
Disagree1
I don't like all these loan deals as if say Borini shines hell go back to Liverpool a better player and where have we seen that before? Wellbeck Rose!
Agree7
Disagree0
It'll be just for the season so di canio and di fanti can have time to bring in a big signing to fill that gap probably same with dossena being on a 1 year deal. they have plenty time now.
Agree2
Disagree1
I'm also a bit sad we didn't get a sess replacement, though as he seems to think he's a forward now, borini is a direct replacement for him, able to score or not he's never had much of a chance at Liverpool. In regards to the loans, yeah they may go back better players, but what was the alternatives? if the players he want aren't available then we have to make do.
Agree1
Disagree1
Hi guys. don't we think it's time we all stopped getting on a downer. Like all of us I'm gutted at our start to the season and never understood the team selection for the palace game. We had our worst central midfield pairing for years and also our worst forward line for as long as I can remember. PDF said he wanted a left back and he got one albeit the sixth attempt. We got the central midfielder in ki and a pact forward in borini. Sess is no loss because we carried him for the majority of games, he's 29 and I honestly believe he wanted out. I do think carts should be brought in from the cold as he is an asset. I so much want the lads to pick themselves up for the next game and rid this doom and gloom, but we all need to accept these guys into our club and cheer from the rafters!,!,
Agree5
Disagree1
JohnBrad don't know who you are but your a good lad, fully support your comment. i'm a big fan of PDC but can understand concern, however negativity doesn't get us anywhere and the only way we can enjoy the season is if we keep faith and support the team.
Agree2
Disagree1
Well at the end of the day, to coin a phrase, we all are here for the same thing, the love of Sunderland football club. Good or bad. None of us will see the game the same but one things for sure red and white is in our hearts and soul and we support no matter what. Here's to climbing the table and proving the doubters wrong
Agree4
Disagree0
We need a marquee signing instead of signing 4 players for 2. 5-3m and them bein distinctly average why don't we go out and spend 10-12m on a too class central midfielder who is actually going to better our squad and take us to the next level, youve just got look at fletcher and realise if you spend the money you get quality in return

I am surprised Sess was sold with no replacement.
Did anybody notice QPR got Ekotto and Niko Kranjcar on loan?
A top quality left back and a creative midfielder with an eye for a killer pass.
Believable7
Unbelievable1
And what aboy Anicehbe to West Brom?. why couldn't have we gone for him. quality striker.!
Agree3

Its about time Karlsoon got astart against Arsenal. just don't play Larsson in central midfield it DOSENT WORK!
Agree5
Disagree0
Dont really need a replacement if we play 442, we have ki and cabral in midfield and altidore, borini and fletch so he would fit in becausr he's a attacking midfielder that get played out of position as a striker
Agree1
Disagree1
Anichebe wouldn't be any different he's a inconsistant player just as much as sess really
Agree2
Disagree1
Anichebe is a very good player never really had a good run in the first team at everton most of the times he was a sub who came on for last 20 mins he will get regular football at west brom

well personally ed I am a bit underwhelmed with our signings we did, have the funds apparently to sign a big name and pdc has banged on about what he needed but didn't seem to concentrate on the fact.
as far as sess goes I am in two minds for me I always got excited when he was on form but even then would hang on to the ball way too long and end up with no result from it you can also argue he had no real creative forwards to feed.
I think giaccherini, ki cabral and Johnson in the middle might surprise us all
give borini a chance if he is fed he could also surprise us, he has a point to prove to Liverpool. my main concern is our defence it has me worried thought we were shambolic against palace
keep the faith and if were bottom 3 come January we can always bring in another bakers dozen!
Believable6
Unbelievable1
Borini will do well its the new 31yearold dodgy full back i'm worried about! defensively we look weak! its all very well bringing in numbers but are they the quality to keep us in this league?
Agree1
Disagree0
I like 4-2-4 but we will not be able to play this system with the players we have. Will need to play 4-3 2-1. Think we should have Colback at left midfield if Dossena is to be left back. Have Cabral and Ki alongside and Johnson and Giacherrini interchanging behind Fletcher. Without the extra one in the middle I think the defence is vulnerable.
Agree0

Dossena is just cover for jack

Hearing cabral has already spoken to his agent sbout a move in jan had enough of pdc treating them like schoolkids and he's the headmaster wouldn't be suprised if he's the only one. discipline is fine but there has to be a line
Believable9

Agree2
Disagree3
Weve heard the rumours about PDC so its not suprising that we are not attracting the big names! perhaps they are frightened off and is the reason why Coleback doesn't want to sign another contract is it working for PDC? still not sure about this guy! and if he fails where does that leave Ellis Short!
Agree2
Disagree2
If pdc keeps on going like he is he will lose the dressing room and his job
Agree2
Disagree2
Totally agree with the post regarding PDC man management skills that's why we did not get Tom Huddleston or any other English midfielder he may be good with his tactics but there's a lot to be desired on the way he treats his players it could be his downfall word gets round the clubs and players go back to school PDC and learn how teach and treat your pupils with a little bit of respect and perhaps you will turn out to be a good manager otherwise the headmaster our Ellis will be expelling you.
Agree1
Disagree2
Lets get howard wilkinson, steve bruce or martin o'neill back then hey. Nice safe predictable choices, great ideas. Why change things when everythings been working so well the last few years playing attractive football for the fans to enjoy.
Agree4

{Ed024's Note - Absoluetly agree - its a new way of working. Wont suit every player but if each player has the passion of PDC we might surprise a few people yet.}

Were in talks with insigne he's coming in January, he couldn't make it yesterday he had to wait in for a parcel but is definitely coming.
Agree2

My main concern is still LB we have signed a 31 year old last minute who failed a medical and will not have the pace to keep up in the EPL there has got to be agood young LB in t the british leagues
Agree6
Disagree0
Agree because this player is defensivly very weak good going forward and he must have been our 6th choice left back? I fear for our defence paticully against the quality teams coming up!
Agree2
Disagree0
Think colback will be 1st choice left back and Dossena will be back up. I'm sure the scouts will be out there looking for players to bring in. There's still lots of changes to be made to the squad over the next few transfers
Agree2
Disagree0
Yea ed no more mentions of insigne. oops sorry
Agree0

I agree with ed, insigne will give competition at Napoli despite all their new signings and he's one for the future so why would he quit Napoli for Sunderland?

Oh no its the end of the world we sold sess. Who cares he played a good match every 5 - 6 games. Overrated. No shot of him scored two great long range goals half the time either shot wide or skyed it. Everyone says he had all the tricks in the bag to me he tricked himself into the bag.

03 Sep 2013 00:18:12
I am absolutely devastated that we have not signed a creative midfield playmaker. However I am even more disappointed in the fact we have just sold the one person in our team ( exception Stephen Fletcher ) Who could make a difference and add a spark. Sessegnon is arguably the most skilfull player I have seen in the red & white of Sunderland and to be honest I have had the same conversation with many other fans that if we could replace him because of his inconsistencies and bring in a strong midfield playmaker so be it. However it had to be at the right price, not the £ 6 mill that's being reported! Why is it we appear to be the only EPL club who seem to allow their best players go for peanuts?
Believable8
Unbelievable2
{Ed024's Note - £6m for a 29 year old inconsistent player is a great deal.}
You must not have been to many matches then, 1 goal in 4 is shocking for a striker. To many times there was no end product and he could have smiled know and again - good luck to the lad!
Agree3

Ki is the creative player
Agree4

The fact that you think Sess was one of our best players just shows how bad we are. Overrated and overpaid, 6 mill; damn good business I say. Watch the little person go and score against us in a few weeks time, lol.
Agree2

ED you make me laugh good bit of business really how do you work that out? westbrom is not the same team as last season, who will be fighting use to stay up if sess keeps them up and we go down real good business don't get me wrong not a fan of sess but why sell him to them
Agree3

{Ed024's Note - If you thought that way - why loan Graham to Hull ?}
Because Graham couldn't hit a barn door should not have got him in the first place sess on the other hand does it the barn door a few times in a season just hope it doesn't bite us on the backside m8

Can everyone stop say selling sess was good business! Today's football is all about squads, so why get rid of sess? Are we a stronger squad for doing so? Can anyone honestly say when we 1-0 down to place at the weekend, that bringing sess on wouldn't have been a good option? Yeah he's been inconsistent, but so are most players that's why he didn't cost us £20m! Why keep ji? When £4m was on the table? Why loan out Alfie when he was just starting to find his feet? And keep Larson, Vaughan, gardener? No pace can't tackle can't pass?! Don't get it at all!
Agree5

{Ed024's Note - Not good.....your right great business - he can go on the piss on West Broms time now.}
Question is, when will we see cabral play again?put it this way he's head and shoulders above vaughan and larsson, I wonder if he's upset pdc. tk73

As a Sunderland fan, I have to admit that I am disappointed that we let sess go. He had that flair us sunderland fans would just love to watch. But tbh, this could be a step forward. For the past few seasons, we have played one of front with sess in more of cf or cam role. I truly believe that we would benefit from two up top, especially with fletch back as we are a more 'balls into the box' team. You can disagree with me all you please but if it pulls of all of you so'loyal' fans who have been nothing but negative tonight will look like total hypocrites if we score and win more games. On a final word, got to applaud pdc on keeping our star player, JI!

{Ed024's Note - That last remark is not funny !!!!!!}
