It says on the main rumours page that we're after Will Hughes if we don't get Huddlestone ide go after him first I think he'd be mint for us, young loads of potential.
Agree4
Disagree3
Whos Will Hughes?
Agree3
Disagree5
Grant Leadbitter
Jordan Henderson
at least they would play with a passion for the club
Agree5
Disagree4
PDC has already signed him, he, s just letting us know that it won, t be a full back, wonder if its Colback!
Agree3
Disagree2
Joey barton?
Agree4
Disagree4
None of the above there's no decent english playmakers anymore that's why the same players get picked for england year in year out. extend your search paulo.
Agree3
Disagree2
A stange one this because none of the English names mentioned are of the ability I would have thought we would want, possibly Huddlestone but I think he is too slow. I suspect we do not have enough "home grown" players in the squad now. According to the premier league squad lists we only have 7 home growns if Cattermole, Vaughan and Bardsley leave.

Pdc says midfielder with physical presence which rules out henderson also milner is a winger plus hughes has no prem experience

Will Hughes is a 18 year old playmaker, playing for derby

No to Henderson. not a ball winner, only passes sideways, can, t play a killer ball, can, t tackle/won, t tackle. only player to play 90 mins and keep his kit clean. no no no
Agree3

Rumour on west ham page pdc looking at mark noble
Agree2

I would personally love to see Jordan Henderson back in the red and white stripes! He seemed a much better player last season and I'm sure we could get him for a fraction of what we sold him for
Agree4
Disagree1
Aaron Ramsay; OK he's Welsh? Seems to be over his broken leg, still young but likely to be £10M+ and not sure Arsenal would allow to leave.
Agree2
Disagree1
{Ed024's Note - I'm sure they wouldn't.}
Spurs have enquired about Hughes so he won't come cheap and Fulham are in for Gargano so there's another one we've missed out on. Hudds too slow Parker too old. Whos left, only the best one James Mcarthy!
Agree2
Disagree0
Regarding the 8 home grown players Mannone qualifies so we will be o k this year but 12 months time could be a problem although we would be able to include Whickham, Laing, Egan etc even if they are actually still U21s.

Roberge was a big suprise for us in Denmark! I feel heel be a big player this season!. one newspaper said its a nice suprise a Sunderland defender can play football and pass well out of defence rather then hoof it upfield!
Agree6

Is he available like. if so he is not bad but I think Paulo is looking for someone on the next level.

Scotty parker ain't no play maker. you might as well just keep cattermole. both ball winning midfielders. that's all. could'nt pass water. not sure I like the way pdc is limiting he's search for a play maker to just being an englishman
Believable5
Unbelievable2
He wants an English Midfeilder who understand what the PL is about, a strong character and bit a money grabbing foreigner
Agree3
Disagree2
Bit is meant to be "not"
Agree0

Money grabbing foreigners? Giaccherrini only on 30k a week english demand more
Agree1

I think what he means is that foreign players come over here, take their wages but put in half hearted performances, eg, Taarabt

I think the midfielder di canio is on about is Scott Parker he's english knows the game well can link up play between defence and attack and they got on really well together at charlton.
I wonder.

Would rather keep david Vaughan

Why can't we get the likes of Cleverly
When Man U target the likes of Fabregas, Marchisio, Vidal it shows they are looking for other options
Believable5

Cleverley would be a great signing for us, but just can't see it, but he won't get a game with them playing kagawa and after fellini

PDC is looking for "An English central midfielder" according to Sky's website. He wants to have somebody who understands the English game inside out to control the midfield.
Let's think realistically now who he might want and be able to get?
Believable6
Unbelievable2
Hudestone, Milner, Cleverly, Noble
Any of them and I'm happy
Agree8
Disagree6
It's pushing you down the Huddlestone route when he is stating English and physical. I'm with you Ginja, who else is out there that would fit into our price bracket and be of good enough quality?
Agree4
Disagree1
Sidwell?
Agree1
Disagree8
Go for cleverly and buttner
Agree9
Disagree3
2nd Post, are you for real? Cleverly? The England midfielder who plays for Man Utd that I am sure they want to sell. Not! Apart from that he is small so would not fit the physical criteria PDC has stated. Noble is simply not good enough, Milner will be too high wages even if City want to sell him (and I personally do not rate him). That leaves us with Huddlestone who doesn't want to come north or take a pay cut so IMO we need to identify someone else.
Agree5
Disagree3
I think Huddlestone is the main option for him. Noble is also a brilliant choice.
Agree3
Disagree5
Milner would be great but can't see that, huddlestone is not that good but I trust Paulo
Agree3
Disagree1
Huddlestone. no thanks.
Agree6
Disagree3
Go for cleverly. as my Mam said, if you don, t ask you don, t get
Agree7
Disagree0
Noble is pure garbage maybe wigan player or parker rodwell loan
Agree2
Disagree7
I know he isn't english but he knows the english game, mccarthy from wigan? too much money, maybe but fits the bill. tk73
Agree5
Disagree0
I would be worried on both counts. Huddleston, yes a quality player but injury prone and slow. Noble, have seen him play and is he better than catts, Vaughan. Maybe slightly but he ain't getting in my house. What about Carrick? If Felani goes to Man You?
Agree4
Disagree2
{Ed024's Note - No chance of Carrick leaving Man Utd soon.}
Roots are up here, best mate is here (shaysee) under valued at Manchester. A bid could get them thinking.
Agree3
Disagree1
Behind RVP I'd rate Carrick as their player of the year. He was outstanding. But nah too high value to come here I'm afraid.

According to reliable sources Manchester United are willing to let Alexander büttner leave the club. Aparantly besiktas are interested but I think we could easily beat them to his signing. What's on everybody else's mind about our hunt for fullbacks? Ed, how bout you?
Believable9
Unbelievable0
{Ed024's Note - Buttner would do a good job, but would prefer a permanent solution.}
Sky and other papers say that it is a permanent deal, Ed, so I hope we do get him. Any thoughts on Right fullback?
Agree8
Disagree2
{Ed024's Note - My 12 year old son plays right back for his team - he's about the only right back that hasnt been linked with Sunderland !!! If we assume the Peruzzi deal is dead then I would like to see Danilo D’Ambrosio at Sunderland.}
Yes please he would suit me! RAW74
Agree3

Get buttner in very good young left back and will give colback a run for his money, good competition

John O'Shea Sunderland new club captain will come has no surprise to most fans.
Wigan are in contract talks with James McClean for an undisclosed fee.
Crystal Palace & several other clubs are keeping tabs on David Vaughan who is free to go.
Fulham, Hull, QPR, Blackburn Bolton & Wigan keep a close eye on Phil Bardsley.
While Lee Cattermole is attracting interest from Cardiff, Fulham, Newcastle, QPR, Hull, Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa & Livorno.
Colback has been offered the vice cpt roll has part of his new contract talks.

Firesale at Sunderland.
Selling all the 'old' average players to make way for all the new 'average' players.
heh.
Agree7
Disagree0
{Ed024's Note - You just dont understand the game at all do you. Lets think.......why would a club sell players that are unlikely to feature in the starting eleven ? Could it be to make room for new players ? free up wages ? ensure the club operate within the new financial fair play restrictions ? or as the players you refer to - Bardsley, Cattermole, Maclean and Vaughan cost a combined 7.5m, and will go for approx £10m is just good business ?}
Can we just get one thing clear Newcastle are not in for Cattermole or Bardsley.
Agree0

Another mag, green eyed monster, who have they bought. sorry a loan, gomis looking for a marseille move, same side as last year, you can buy all the forwards you want, but the defence is still a shambles, pardiou thinks he's on football manager hoping for the best. tk73
Agree3

Mixture I think, it's good business and freeing up money for new faces.
And I think Bardsley, Cattermole & Vaughan are not in PDC plans.

Its debatable I think yous might be after them

Ed any idea why JI and Brown wernt in the squad for the Denmark game?
Believable3
Unbelievable0
{Ed024's Note - Brown was left out to give Cuellar and Roberge a run out - i think PDC had seen enough of Brown in Hong Kong to know what he can do. Not so sure on Ji.}
Wasnt ji injured
Agree4
Disagree0
No both Ji and brown had minor knocks which wasn't worth risking so they were both left out!
