Sunderland are currently trying to wrap up 6 players on free transfers to add to there squad. There will be also a few little signings for around 3-5mill these will be young players to develop. Short has givin Di Canio a very large budget and is currently trying to sign Cavani. Fanti is currently in Italy using his agent skills to try and broker a deal with Napoli that's why he hasn't give up his FIFA licence yet. If a deal can't be reached Fanti will return the Sunderland to start his new role.

Even if were able to offer £40m and pay £5m a year in wages, Cavani plus young players/freebies does not sound like a challenge Cavani would want to take on- suspect the very remote prospect of getting him would depend on similar quality signings being agreed, as finishing in relative comfort of mid-table- realistically the most we can hope for- does not strike me as the kind of achievement that would be of interest to a world class striker. There are lots of names being thrown around, but hose like Ritchie and Roberge seem much more likely to be on sunderland shirts next season than Cavani and Krasnic! Of course, anything is possible- maybe Cavani- like Bardsley- has a penchant for 'charity work' which sometimes overrules his common sense.

This post lost all credibility the moment Cavani was mentioned.
There are too many people making statements on here that Ellis Short has given Paolo a huge budget to sign players. Where is the evidence to back this up, because I’ve not heard anything from anyone at the club to suggest this is the case?

You folk on about cavani must be mad. Have we suddenly been given a champions league spot? let's be realistic and not like them up the road

4.) 29 May 2013
People should stop saying we are after the likes of cavani. You need to live in the real world not a fm 2013 one. We will sign mostly bosmans and spend about £10m - £15m at the most. Probably be a couple from the lower leagues and maybe 1 or 2 from Italy.

5.) 29 May 2013
Man city is in for cavani at a price of £60mil sorry but I don't think he will be coming to sunderland.

6.) 29 May 2013
We need to stop kidding ourselves there is no way that we could ever sign cavani, and there is no chance he would ever want to sign for us

7.) 29 May 2013
Does'nt really deserve a creditable reply!!

8.) 29 May 2013
Need to stop banging on about Cavani, do you want the barcodes to come back on our site and rip the sh*t out of ya

Yes there will be about 5 bosmans heading our way, but 3 or 4 big signings will be heading our way too, not along the lines of Cavani but good players who will make a good impact

Would love to see us make a move for Wilfred Bony, good goalscorer strong and fast. would pick him up for about 12m which is a bit of a risk but his record speaks for itself.

also maybe Napoli will take a straight swap for Danny 'goal machine' Graham?
lets stop all this pointless Cavani talk, there's more chance of the mags signing an Englishman than that.

10.) 29 May 2013
Probably a Mag post anyway and if not I am pleased they are building the replacement to Cherry Knowle.

11.) 29 May 2013
Definitely a mag post. No mackem is this stupid surely?

12.) 30 May 2013
Cavani?? are you numb. it was simply a publicity stunt to make our name circulate around italy and the italian media so we are known to the players we want to sign end of (a. c)

PDC loves Matt Ritchie. He'll cost you at least 2 million though. I'm hoping he'll stay at AFCB another season. Great player. Could easily make it in Premier. {Ed024's Note - i doubt that }
