Its official poyet as manager!

1.) 08 Oct 2013
Out of the frying pan and into the fire, he will be gone at end off season when relagated. Poor appointment. No ambition.

2.) 08 Oct 2013
Im not overly pleased with the appointment, think it was the easy option but i'll give him his chance and hopefully he can turn things round. Still think there were better options, mulunsteen, etc.

3.) 08 Oct 2013
ATTENTION ALL POYET'S DOUBTER'S
out of 194 games as a manager he only lost 49 - drew 59 and WON 86. so be it - in lower league but with no household names in his side. now in my opinion - who could we realistically appoint that the majority of fans would be happy with. people say no premiership experience? let me give you another interesting stat. the most successful managers in the premiership had no premiership experience when they started. Mourinho - Wenger - Ferguson - Mancini. so please don't moan about lack of premiership experience. hope this helps your opinion/education

4.) 08 Oct 2013
Lets give the guy a chance, just look at Moyes he went from Preston to Everton and proved himself, why not Gus

5.) 08 Oct 2013
Yes my learned friend but Wenger, Mancini and Mourinho were all sucessful in other top leagues and were given pots of money to spend. I understand what you are saying but its a diffrent proposition with Sunderland. He will have to manage a set off players that obviously feel they know more than the manager and will have a limited budget because of PDC spending. What Sunderland need is a stable experienced nmanager to steady the ship not another manager with "great potential" that dosent win games. And as for his team with no household names, none off the teams in that league had household names but he spend a lot off money and was backed heavily by the board. So in conclusion I hope that helps with your education.

6.) 08 Oct 2013
So much negativity with all concerned with Sunderland. It seems to be in our nature. He hasn't even managed a game and there's talk of him being sacked and getting us relegated. This negativity must filter through to the players. It's time to get behind the club, maybe they can thrive on some positive energy for a change. We need to show our support for Gus and the boys, now more than ever.

7.) 08 Oct 2013
''out of 194 games as a manager he only lost 49 - drew 59 and WON 86. so be it - in lower league but with no household names in his side''

You are wrong about that. Brighton were paying out top wages in the Championship, they had players like Wayne Bridge and Upson, amongst others.

8.) 08 Oct 2013
People who criticise coz he managed in the Lower leagues and that it isn't hard, the Lower the league, the lower standard of players
Managing us in the PL will be an uphill task but I fully support him and think he will succeed

9.) 08 Oct 2013
Why not gus? you said that with di canio.

10.) 08 Oct 2013
Gus is Sunderland's manager he will have my full support - bring on the unwashed.

11.) 08 Oct 2013
Gus Poyet's Red and White army, beautiful football, money to spend in January, whopping the mag's again - does it get much better.

12.) 08 Oct 2013
You miserable, negative armchair managers need to get behind the club and this appointment. Try taking lessons in positive thinking. When we've beaten Swansea and kicked the Mags arses again you'll be saying what a master stroke appointing Poyet was. Now that's a lesson in positive thinking!

13.) 08 Oct 2013
Di Canio may have presided over many comings and (not enough) goings, but it is wrong to say he 'spent' £19m. The balance sheet for the summer transfer window was about £21m out but about £19m recouped from sales. So if there was about £20m in the kitty, most of it is still there. I think this must be a factor in Poyet coming here, as he has been watching the team this season, so will know that O'Shea, Cuellar, Larsson and Vaughan at least need to be replaced. Let us hope he can get something out of the new players, steady the ship and then make a couple of key defensive signings and add to the firepower in January. November a key month.

14.) 08 Oct 2013
How much did pdc actually spend? not forgetting the 15m we got for ses & mig. i bet the books balanced out pretty well, so there should be cash for gus in january

15.) 08 Oct 2013
First comment GP says well struggle to stay in the premiership what sort of ambition is that for this club. ?. we would have been better off leaving the helm to Ball. I fear well be playing Championship football next season. not impressed Ellis perhaps its time for the chairman to go?

16.) 08 Oct 2013
So is GP going to offer Ball the asssitant managers job? I hope so Ellis short should have made that condition part of GPS acceptance of the job!

17.) 09 Oct 2013
"BEAUTIFUL FOOTBALL, MONEY TO SPEND, CAN IT GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS"

Are you being serious?
A. Poyet has even had a training session with the team yet, how on earth do you know there will be beautiful football?
B. I understand people are saying the books are balanced so should be money to spend but c'mon you just signed 14 players with an untried manager, you really think Short is going to make the same mistake?
C. Bottom of the league with a ridiculous goal difference, could it get and better, it couldn't get any worse mate!

18.) 09 Oct 2013
Short is the best owner we have had for a very long time. He has proved himself to be very decisive and he has revamped the whole structure of the club. Think yourself lucky that we don't have the bunch of clowns that Newcastle have. I can't wait for Kinnear to take charge.

19.) 09 Oct 2013
Manchester United fan here. Just wanted to know if you Sunderland fans are happy with Poyet. If not who would you have gone for.
