If he want to make a statement he should go and get Falcao or Cavani. about as realistic as Hernandez or Welbeck wanting to come to us!

I respect Borini's wish to play Champions League but what amounts to disrespecting us is the length of time involved in "taking his decision". It borders on dumb insolence. If he doesn't want to come then have the b@!s to say so, and let's all move on.
PS who says we won't be playing Champions League some day anyway?

I've had enough now as well!!

He is a 100% player who gives his all in every game but for me he is not worth £14m. I do understand though why Gus would pay this and he knows what he is getting having had last season working with him.

My view is simple. Borini is entitled to stay and fight for a place at Liverpool who will be in Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and the Champions League. Yes they have a squad being put together but there is a good chance he will get game time with Suarez leaving and Remy not signing. However I think he will be used in cup games and maybe on the bench for the others so to me he should want regular first team football.

Therefore, we should remove the offer and move on as his main focus is staying there. If Rodgers has not told him that he won't play then he will not come to us. And if he comes begging at the end of August we should then walk away or make a reduced offer.

While Borini was a claas above most last season, there is no guarantee he can replicate this form this year. Often young strikers follow a good season with a poor one, and Premier defences have had a look at him now, so he won't find things so easy. Besides, £14m was a lot to offer0- if he was on our books, does anyone think we would be getting $14m offers for him based on his performances so far? Tine to moveon I think- it is turning into another Fletcher saga- and he still owes us most of his fee. What is worrying is that we still seem to have few targets in mind, and once they know who they are the price- and presumably their wage demands- goes up! Surely we could become a little more canny in the transfer market- how many disastrous windows does it take for us to master the basics?

Most Sunderland supporters feel the same on Borinigate so why doesn't our manager?

6.) 08 Aug 2014
I think the thing for me is not the price it's the time let's be honest with ourselves we are not in a position to wait that is Liverpool they are the team with the quality and squad depth to be able to fight for champions league we are the team that needs the player so I would move on I have no
Doubt Brendan Rodgers said 14mil your not in a position to wait take it or leave it IMO leave it and go somewhere else let's not waste time and panic buy

What bothers me is Borinis heart in the move? we need players who will give 100% and his heart would still be in Liverpool?

Don't worry about Borini's heart being in it. I do some work for the club and believe me the lad is Uber professional. If he signs he'll give it his all in every game he plays. Have no fears whatsoever.
