Be careful what you wish for is my advice. I've even heard Dick Advocaat mentioned. Good God!!!! It's hard to think of anyone suitable at the moment as the best ones have just got jobs. What we must get is an English manager with premiership experience to get us out of this hole in the short term before we start the necessary clear out and rebuilding of the club from the bottom up. Forget the Newcastle connection Allerdyce could do the job but I don' t think we will get him at this stage of the season. Pulis, Sherwood, Pardew have proved that there are good English managers around who can galvanise what seem to be poor premiership teams. I just think we have missed the boat. I can't think of anyone who is available in the same mould. But Dick Advocaat? Hello Championship.

The truth is we should have got rid of Poyet much earlier then the liked of Pullis and Sherwood etc etc would have been available !. i'd go for a temp manager to keep us up then a good search in the summer for a top manager but Short probably will shop at Poundstretcher again !!

Reminds me of Magath 'saving' Fulham last year. If after six years in charge Advocaat is the best candidate he can attract it is time Short realized it is time for the man in the mirror to go- and on his way out he might ponder what his 'adviser' Congerton has brought to the club too- apart from worsening relationships and third rate players!

We're hardly in the position to be picky, I mean with our maxed out wage budget, a bunch of inept over the hill & below par players and a culture at the club that's an utter shambles. Any manager who comes here for the forseeable future is going to be managing with both hands tied behind their backs as our squad is too small, too slow, too old and too over paid to shift.

Think it will be a temp job so that's get behind the team now and the bloke who comes in 2 wins and a couple of draws should do it
