I agree about Mannone and although I've not seen Whatmore play the reports are encouraging and surely he is worth a try. Worryingly Advocaat was on match of the day indicating he didn't have much else to choose from. I though our best player going forward was van Anholt. We could do worse than push him up the pitch, after all he isn't defensively minded and has pace which is what we lack in abundance. As I've mentioned many times what does Whickham give us apart from being a disinterested passenger. I just don't see him as a Premier league player. I also thought Cattermole didn't look match fit or maybe looking after himself for the inevitable transfer at the end of the season.

Agree with you on Van an holt that he's much more effective in a midfield position! i'd drop Vergini put Coates in and put Reverlerre at left back and def start with Whatmore and Johnson as we must use pace against Stoke who have a pedestrian back four! also agree with a lot of supporters that its time to give Mannone a game!

Which ever division we are in we need a massive player clearout even if it means paying up some players contracts and start from scratch!. it didn't do Southampton any harm!

Well said Bob stokoe, can't think of a single player I would keep even if we end up in the championship, but I would include management in the clear out.

Well Apparently we are giving Revelere another years contract so with a new manager due who on earth is running this club? very strange business surely a new manager may not want him!

{Ed007's Note - Managers rarely have much input on contract renewals these days, Bob, it's more a financial decision than a footballing one. I don't know how you are set up as a club but as a Celtic fan those kind of decisions are down to our Chief Executive Peter Lawwell and our Football Development Manager (and chief scout) John Park.
I'd be surprised if Advocaat was even consulted about it at all. How do you guys think he's doing? I've seen him at close hand when he managed Rangers and said right away he wasn't what Sunderland needed, he's a very divisive figure anywhere he rolls up and it wouldn't surprise me if there is already problems within the squad.}

Agree Ed I think Advocaat is a temp appointment and we are looking at other managers including Paul Clemont but for this club to move forward we need to sort the management at the very top! i'd like Dick to use the kids more something he isn't keen on doing and ironicly something Clemont likes to do! we need more talent coming through from the under 21 level!

{Ed007's Note - There's not much chance of him doing that. I just can't see him as your manager next season but as you say it seems to be a problem higher up at Sunderland, they have made some odd - and controversial - choices as manager instead of getting someone in to steady the ship and get on with the job, maybe like Pulis or Mark Hughes.
You need the type of manager who know the English game inside out and will be given time to turn things round while still impressing the fans enough to keep them onside.}

At the end of the day if we are relegated then the whole manager situation will change big time!

I See Watmore scored twice and starred for the U21S today! what has this guy got to do to get a start in the present struggling first team? can't believe that successive managers are ignoring his talents! talk about naivity!

8.) 19 Apr 2015
Agree Bob. Watmore literally can't do any worse than our current strikers or wingers whom are bringing nothing to the matches. Granted wingers haven't been used much by DA, but even prior to that their influence on the games were minimal. I say play all the kids and let Bally coach them. I'd be willing to bet they'd do quite a bit better than the lot we've got in there now. Top half of the U21 table and a goal difference of -1 after 19 games speaks for itself.

Cant belive we havnt included Watmore even on the bench . what has this youngster got to do to get into the team?. i'm sorry Avocatt doesn't like using the youngsters and I just hope he isn't here next season because we must build from the u21s and this guy doesn't do that! again the word is naivity! we need to create and what Watmore will do is CREATE! i'm lost for words as this club is going downhill . FAST!
