Can I ask any ed, what do you think of the takeover/ manager sacking.

{Ed025's Note - i think its a good thing to be honest SR, rip it up and start again as they say, the club has been in free fall for a while now and it needs a new identity, get rid of all the freeloaders at the club like rodwell and build a new dynamic with people and players that actually want to be at the club, sunderland are a big club and their long suffering supporters deserve better mate..

I agree, think its a bit harsh on coleman. I'm just hoping they bring someone in with experience at this level rather than a big name manager.

{Ed001's Note - Coleman is a nice guy, but I am just not sure he is a particularly good manager. His thing with Wales was that he was a friend of Gary Speed and he took over a squad that was very much Speed's squad and he rallied them with a 'do it for Speedo' message. Once that stopped working, he had no real ideas of what to do and soon jumped ship. I am just not sure he was the right guy to turn Sunderland around. It is a massive job to rebuild a team and he has shown little to suggest it was something he was capable of.}

He kept persisting with 5 at the back, everyone but him could see it wasn't working but he didn't have any other option because our midfield and goalkeepers were so poor.
Michael Appleton seems to be the name I've read and heard people say is the favourite, what do you know about him?

{Ed001's Note - he was very highly respected at Leicester as a coach, but not sure about him as a manager. I know he is looking for a management role, so it could well be him, though this takeover has been sudden, the group involved thought they were out of the running a month ago, so they might not have had a chance to decide on a new man yet.}

Thanks for the input.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate, hopefully things will be a bit better next season.}
