Looks like Micah Richards is off to Villa. Shame he might have done a decent job for us. He's from Birmingham so no surprise he wants to go back there.
Just hoping that we didn't offer him £90k a week, as reported in The Sun. For that amount (even on a free transfer) we'd want someone we KNEW was upto demands of the EPL. Richards wasn't first choice at Fiorentina and was used predominately as 'cup' player. Given that the teams that were 4th and 5th bottom seemed the only clubs keen on him probably shows there are more than a few doubts about him making the grade. We don't need another Rodwell.

Oh Dear! Richards joins Villa, we re-sign Brown.

I don't think that was quite what we were looking for as a signal that things had really changed this summer. A very depressing start.

Cant get the Brown contract?? not a good start for Dick to say no more relegation battles?. and is this Lee Congerton?/ still have grave doubts about his ability to spot talent!! Pity about Richards but like Rodwell he has had injury problems! I just hope we are linked with QUALITY not has beens! . we need some top signings if we are not to struggle!
