Given it looks like we won't be scoring many goals for the foreseeable future, the priority for plan B must be not conceding many either. There must be defenders who would come, even if the majority of forwards won't move north of Manchester. Why still no LB? Why still no pace at CB? Maybe if Dann and Olssen (or any defenders who were younger than 30!) were signed and a mobile midfielder who can beat a man and pass accurately, it would be easier to attract someone who scores goals.

To all fellow Sunderland surrporters out there theres no need to panic at this moment in time we have a fairly decent squad all we need is two strikers at least we have that expectation to sign 7 or 8 players every transfer window well it dosent really work like that our wage budget has been messed up by signing average players every season and who is to blame mr.steve Bruce and mr.roy Keane they offered avrage players money that sunderland shouldn't of offerd now we have got 8 days to sign a striker now let's keep our heads and surrport the greatest football team on earth ...........
Decent squad? We finished 13 th last season and we have no experienced strikers at the club.fact. We need players urgently man

Niall Quinn left the club as he could smell a rat. ES not the man you think he is. Only hope MON is not doing a Cloughie late on in his managerial stint.
I love safc!
Aye right. Ellis loves losing money, how else do you become a millionaire
What a load of twonk.
Jeez.
We owe a lot to mr short without him we would prob be in the championship
Niall quinn left the club cos he had done his job . any true supporter knows that the club is in a better position than it has been for years. well done sir niall you will never be forgotten.
Quinny left because he has many irons in the fire on loads of projects back in ireland and has he actually seen his kids grow up,anyway thanks for the memories and for putting us in safe hands disco pants,no doubt you will be back someday.tk73

so annoyed at our pretend fans saying they arent renewing because of lack of signings and because we are getting fletcher. im honestly glad you wont be at the stadium of light becasuse id rather a true fan was their than a hypocrite! In MoN i trust!
Agreed!
I like to consider my self a true fan and of course i will renew my season ticket what else you gonna do on a saturday afternoon but i am a little upset and worried with the lack of signings but regeardless im sunderland till i die!
Well said mate. Mon has never let a team down in the past and he wont start with the team he supports. Safc93
WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN OPINION where are the quality signings he promised? fletcher certainly does not fall into the quality barrier my friend he is average and over priced. dasnn another center half how many do we sodding need
I,m a nufc fan mate and honestly think hughes is a far better manager than mon....most players come for money now a days and the odd player will come for a decent player and thats not saying mon was not a good player its just i think hughes played for united and chelsea and his more known to todays players....
If all the fans who have said they wont attend, dont, then the stadium wont look half empty on a home game but two thirds empty.
I am getting a little worried myself but remember martin is no mug, so dont worry about a thing cos everythings gona be alright
Whoever said wot else is there to do on a saturday, its more like bloody sundays nowadays, i used to love goin to rokerpark on a saturday matchday now its shoppin day cos of playin on sundays or mondays.tk73
When fletcher was at hibs, i can remember jose mourinho say one day he will play for real madrid. He has played in 2 horrendous teams and got double figure goals returns. i think he is a quality player and 12 mill is about right in todays market.
Bruce played for united so your talking out ya bum

Im that depressed with lack of movement i made all of this up for a bit of fun coz its the closest we are going to get to signing good players give it a try actually makes you feel better haha
Time to wake up son this is real life not fifa. will never attract some of those players with the poor wages we can offer
What do you think the chance is of this happining?
Nothing poor about 50k a week thats 2 million a year......footballers should be glad to get that...they want a factory job for £6 an hour to how good they have it
Its possible only if we had the money i wish this could happen you would actually make a decent manager going for players like this unlike the one we have atm i mean dann olsson fletcher mcgeady they have relegation written all over them

According to oniels interview yesterday our pathetic pre season showings are down to injuries. Well get your finger out and sign some good players then we wont have to worry about injuries. Simple.
Get over it the mugs got beat 4-1 and they lost 6-1 last year at orient
Newcastle have nothing to worry about we do

So far this transfer window, premier league teams have bought IN 62 players in total with more than double that being sold or released. That's just over 3 players (on average) coming in new so far. It's not just us that hasn't been able to get the signings we want. Only 5 or so have been big names. Unfortunately it's a sign of the times that clubs are trying to balance the books due to the new fair play criteria coming in soon. I reckon it's going to be a quiet window this season with most of the business being done in the last couple of days. If we get 2 or 3 more in we'll be lucky.

Martin nodeal will look at all these players, then after about 6 weeks of speculation, will maybe sign 1player.

Relegation for us this season what do we have to cheer about crap preseason the team that has been playing is basically our first team , no fire power up front I don't think we have active scouts do we ffs the toon don't seem to have problems getting cheap quality , what is going on not happy
Mon is not the manager every one thinks is (in my opinion) think mark huges would of been a better manager or martinez...
Newcastle are having same problems as we are, it isnt easy trying to sign decent players.....give MON a chance
What the hero O`neil? The messiah? The super manager to get us into europe? Who can attract tp quality players? YOUR getting on to him now, wait till your struggling with relegation again. The future`s bright, the futures Black n White.
Here we go again lose pre season and all the doom and gloom merchants are out think ye need to go and see the doc before ye do ye self some harm when does wins in pre season count for anything im just glad i dont have a season ticket next to you.
Where's the rose tinted glasses brigade this morning?
Another typical Sunderland performance yesterday. There's a clear pattern developing here; No creativity, no clean sheet & no GOALS. For christ sake get some of these quality players youve been banging on about all summer long through the door and quick before your accussed of hood-winking thousands of fans into backing the club by purchasing early season tickets.
We've been hood winked for years. Peter Reid nearly had the mixture, but had a chairman who wouldn't back him.
And if i suppose your a newcastle fan ye need to look at ye own pre season and your so called big deals debuchy anita douglas de jong
Think douglas was wrong there like as we never bid for him we are just intrested and anita fee as been agreed 6.2 million but guess what we have 2 quality strikers....smb
