Given it looks like we won't be scoring many goals for the foreseeable future, the priority for plan B must be not conceding many either. There must be defenders who would come, even if the majority of forwards won't move north of Manchester. Why still no LB? Why still no pace at CB? Maybe if Dann and Olssen (or any defenders who were younger than 30!) were signed and a mobile midfielder who can beat a man and pass accurately, it would be easier to attract someone who scores goals.

To all fellow Sunderland surrporters out there theres no need to panic at this moment in time we have a fairly decent squad all we need is two strikers at least we have that expectation to sign 7 or 8 players every transfer window well it dosent really work like that our wage budget has been messed up by signing average players every season and who is to blame mr.steve Bruce and mr.roy Keane they offered avrage players money that sunderland shouldn't of offerd now we have got 8 days to sign a striker now let's keep our heads and surrport the greatest football team on earth ...........

Decent squad? We finished 13 th last season and we have no experienced strikers at the club.fact. We need players urgently man

Niall quinn left the club cos he had done his job . any true supporter knows that the club is in a better position than it has been for years. well done sir niall you will never be forgotten.

Quinny left because he has many irons in the fire on loads of projects back in ireland and has he actually seen his kids grow up,anyway thanks for the memories and for putting us in safe hands disco pants,no doubt you will be back someday.tk73

Nothing poor about 50k a week thats 2 million a year......footballers should be glad to get that...they want a factory job for £6 an hour to how good they have it

Its possible only if we had the money i wish this could happen you would actually make a decent manager going for players like this unlike the one we have atm i mean dann olsson fletcher mcgeady they have relegation written all over them

So far this transfer window, premier league teams have bought IN 62 players in total with more than double that being sold or released. That's just over 3 players (on average) coming in new so far. It's not just us that hasn't been able to get the signings we want. Only 5 or so have been big names. Unfortunately it's a sign of the times that clubs are trying to balance the books due to the new fair play criteria coming in soon. I reckon it's going to be a quiet window this season with most of the business being done in the last couple of days. If we get 2 or 3 more in we'll be lucky.

Relegation for us this season what do we have to cheer about crap preseason the team that has been playing is basically our first team , no fire power up front I don't think we have active scouts do we ffs the toon don't seem to have problems getting cheap quality , what is going on not happy

Mon is not the manager every one thinks is (in my opinion) think mark huges would of been a better manager or martinez...

Newcastle are having same problems as we are, it isnt easy trying to sign decent players.....give MON a chance

Another typical Sunderland performance yesterday. There's a clear pattern developing here; No creativity, no clean sheet & no GOALS. For christ sake get some of these quality players youve been banging on about all summer long through the door and quick before your accussed of hood-winking thousands of fans into backing the club by purchasing early season tickets.

We've been hood winked for years. Peter Reid nearly had the mixture, but had a chairman who wouldn't back him.

And if i suppose your a newcastle fan ye need to look at ye own pre season and your so called big deals debuchy anita douglas de jong

Think douglas was wrong there like as we never bid for him we are just intrested and anita fee as been agreed 6.2 million but guess what we have 2 quality strikers....smb
