I think we should go for a double deal, huddlestone and Defoe. Both wouldn't cost too much and are both class acts in my opinion. Huddlestone when fit is a great passer and has great technique and Defoe has a been top scorer or roundabouts at spurs for most seasons he's been there and only plays a bit part role.

Thankyou , I think id we could get kenwyne back cheaper than we sold him I think we should. Would work better bow we have some wingers that can cross and if any one get get him to work harder its MON.
Muddy

Agree5 Disagree2

Yeah i agree with that too especially with crossers like larsson and johnson he would do well

Agree1 Disagree0

Johnson..????????

Agree0 Disagree0

Sess was strongly linked with a move to spurs.......hudd/defoe this way? just a thought! {Ed046's Note - the latter maybe but we need to keep sess

Agree2 Disagree0

hey guys.. im a newcastle fan in peace, and was wondering as you were in a similar position with henderson as we were with carroll. Where a disproportionate amount of money was offered for a player and despite him supposedly being a fan of the club, and bleed for the team and then leaving would you take him back even at a reduced price?

Its just all this talk about carroll is making me think he is just a bigger player than the club... ed your opinion first please? {Ed046's Note - first welcome mate i think if Carroll did come back to you you could see him reach the heights/form of his 1st spell with Hendo i would stll take him in a heartbeat

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I would probably take henderson back at a reduced price they both play out of there skins for there hometown clubs

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes Henderson did against Nufc couple seasons ago, Carroll smashed Titsup Shambles for the cause and Henderson was like a rabbit in the headlights YES fighting the cause for his club!!

Agree1 Disagree2

Season ticket holder for years. although henderson is red and white through and through he cant or wont tackle got no pace rarely shoots long passing range limited and short passing often goes astray so no i dont want him back

Agree3 Disagree1

Some supporters are so negative

Agree6 Disagree2

Agree0 Disagree3

Yes they did for a loan but we have or so i,m led to believe offered £12 million for him and wave the sell on fee which is what they would owe us if lfc sell him....just remind me of a concrete cash offer you,s have made........

Caulkner - 5m
Bramble
Laing
Bertrand - loan

Cattermole

Huddlestone - 6m
Larrson

A. Johnson - loan

Sessegnon
Cambell
Ji
Hooper - 6m
Fletcher - 8m

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Lose bramble turner hooper and fletcher and you have the start of a decent squad. add 2 decent strikers and we are on our way

Agree2 Disagree2

On your way to the championship..

Agree4 Disagree4

Need a pacey left back. A pacey right winger. A double figure pacey striker, see what i'm getting at . The lack of pace in our team is frightening. midfield too many of the same ilk, cattermole, gardner, colback, vaughn and larsson. Also which lunatic decided to give O'shea and wes brown 5 yr contracts, i mean blokes well into their thirties who will never be playing near the end of their contracts is finacial suicide.

Agree2 Disagree0

A positive makem telling the truth wonders will never cease.....k {Ed046's Note - a mag not bad mouthing us on our on site wonders will never cease

Agree2 Disagree0

Caulkner and Bertrand both have pace. I actually think Fletcher would score his fair share for us but I'm not over keen on the prices being mentioned. Also our midfield is too small so I think Huddlestone and N'Zonzi will add more height and strength and Johnson more creativity in that department. {Ed046's Note - good point but i can see both Caulker and Bertrand breaking in to their respective teams next season will youleave a name next time mate, good post

Martin O'Neill has promised to step up his search for new recruits ahead of Sunderland's start to the season.

The Black Cats have so far only managed to sign Carlos Cuellaron a free transfer and will head out on their pre-season tour to South Korea on Monday with just a solitary new face.

However, O'Neill admits to having a few irons in the fire which he hopes will come to fruition in the coming weeks.

"I have made one or two enquiries, but I have not progressed anything greatly at this moment," he told the Sunderland Echo."

"That's the best way of saying it. It's early. We've just been back a day or two and I've got a couple of things floating around in my mind.

"I haven't done anything definite. I've made the enquiries and said to people, keep us informed. But now I will start to develop things a bit more.

"I'm hoping the players that I'm interested in will be attracting the interest of other teams as well. If there's nobody interested in them, then you worry!

"There's players who I would certainly be prioritising and those are the ones I would genuinely like to get, if at all possible. But I haven't narrowed it down to an extent when I'm not thinking of other options."
