Just like most fans, when I hear foreign names being linked you can't help but feel a bit excited. However, I can't help but worry at the possibility of playing a completely different team next year which may struggle to gel like portsmouth years ago or qpr last year. Regardless of how good the players are gelling a brand new team together is difficult and think it would be wrong to get rid of gardner, vaughn, bardsley etc. As much as I love migs and sess, if we were to sell the two for 15-20mil combined and sign a few quality players I wouldn't be too dissapointed as westwood has a lot of potential. I also have to say i'm slightly worried about di canios strictness and the possiblility of the players turning on him. I certainly think they need some discipline and fitness but don't think di canio should be publicizing everything. Nevertheless i'm optimistic about next season and will be cheering them on every week. haway the lads, forza di canio

Under any other situation I'd agree with you but we were so bad last season and with a history of ill discipline I think its a gamble that's absolutely worth taking. I was depressed watching us last season and with the same old characters in the club I almost felt like I was waiting for relegation. This could backfire but my god, if Di Canio gets it right then this is the biggest change in mindset the club has ever seen and could be something very special. The excitement is that we just don't know but I for one have more confidence in Di Canio than any manager we've had for years and years.

Me too. For me he hasn't put a foot wrong so far. I agree with his sentiments about fitness, professionalism and personal responsibility. I am sure that whoever we sign will have been carefully vetted for the attitudes that matter most to Di Canio. It goes without saying they will be better than we had. So, have a nice summer and roll on August the 19th.
Arrivederci!

Well with his new team PDC will be under pressure to get results, so the doubters will have their answer by Janurary!. hopefully PDC knows what he is doing?

Agree with the second post

Its Di Canio that has the Attitude problems, he did as a player and had the same problems when at Swindon {Ed024's Note - Yes it would appear he doesnt like when players dont train properly, dont put in enough effort, get sent off for no good reason and miss club appointments ..........thats so unreasonable.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly ed someone should speak up about it instead of everyone staying quiet. wish people would get a grip and stop rambling on about how harsh he is. "bramble fined 4 weeks wages for not turning up to a gym session" good the lazy b******d was possibly the most out of shape player in the squad. safc93

He took Foderingham off at Swindon when we were 2-0 down we lost 4-1 and he still blamed Foderingham, he wil not shoulder any of the blame it is always someones else's fault, he wants to remember what he was like when he was a player just pissing off for a couple of weeks at a time when he was a Shef Wed

Agree0 Disagree0

He took the blame for our loss against villa he said he made A mistake and he'll take responsibility

You forget, he was young and daft at Sheff. Wed, now he's old, wise and mellowed!
As for taking Foderingham off, match reports suggest if he hadn't, you'd have lost 6-0 so 4-1 makes him a football genius lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Well no he has not Mellowed he slagged him off in the Press then played him in the nxt game, he is a Nutter as you lot will find out in time. You can only slag off and fine the players so many times then they will just work it so the Manager gets the bullet

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit sour grapes there mate if pdc had stayed at Swindon you most probably would be playing sunderland next season as we would have been there with mon. pdc saved our season and ruined yours better luck next season you will need it as for pdc what the fans have seen so far he could not have impressed more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really M8 we had to sell players so we did not go Bankrupt. he was bringing players in then saying they were no good. You do relise we spent more on Agents fees alone than 23 clubs in League 2 combined. The bloke is crackers, just saying beware {Ed024's Note - Most of our signings have been bosmans so we can afford to pay a few agents}

To all us Cats fans what is going on up the road in the depths of hell at St. James' Park? Is it if you have one we want one? A director of football! So who would of thought it Joe Bloggs is back on the scene? Another plastic Geordie to the fold! Old Joe reminds me of a London Town market trader! Maybe if it all goes Pete Tonghe he could go on Eastenders as Ian Beales trusty assistant.

Listening to his incoherent nonsense on talk sport was more difficult than trying to understand Paulo!
The clock is surely ticking on the cockney time bomb that has become Newcastle 'United'.
