All the posts have some truth in them as to why we are in this unacceptable position. But I firmly believe it is down to this useless bunch of players who are stealing money from our club. Absolutely no fight in them at all, got to be the poorest Sunderland team ever. chris-s

You were all calling MON a messiah when he took over, fickle or what.

Us fickle? You lot hated ashley then after 1 lucky season he was the best thing since sliced bread and now since your relegation battle you want him and pardew out. That's fickle mate.
Agree5
Disagree1
Fickle as in turning your back on Sir Bobby Robson, then when he passes away pretend to the world that you worshipped him, and build a statue to commemorate him. Is that the kind of fickle you mean?

Agree with chris-s u can't tell me any manager or coach trains his players to play like that its painful viewing wether your watching from the stands, t v or the touchline, he needs to start playing players in there right positions (bardsley rb, gardner cm) get the height and power in the team he talked about in january (wickham, n'diaye, mangane)and give johnson a spell on the bench for mcclean.

Ever since guppy got hold of mclean he hs turned the lad rubbish he wouldn't get a game for darlo at the moment

The lad was always going to be a flash in the pan mate. How many of them have we seen over the years. Since the mid-80's we've been a breeding groung for them. Guppy was a decent player who strived to be the best he could be and was rewarded with international recognition. James Mclean is a accident waiting to happen both on & off the park!

Time for O'neil to go or at LEAST change his tactics. Attack is the best form of defence!

Will sacking him with 8 games to go actually benifet the team?. I think the sackings and recriminations and board of enquiry should be held in the summer in fact I think hell walk away anyway!. if you could guarentee us safety by getting rid of him i'd do it tommorow! but would it work?
Agree7

It's worth a try I think. His tactics aren't working and something needs to change. Can't see where our next goal will come from never mind point
Agree3

I agree the confidence has gone and can even the most confident MON fan see where the next point is coming from in the next 4-5 games? . and by then well be in the bottom 3!. not a good time to play the Mags either!

Let's see if sacking McDermott was the key to Reading's survival this season. then we can decide if we should have sacked O'Neill

They tried to attack Norwich on Sunday. There simply not good enough. when's the penny going to drop.
Rushing the play out wide to two totally predictable and out of form winger's then hoping one of them crosses for Fletcher or Graham to get on the end of it is not attacking football.
We do not pos-sess one player with any craft or guile, a player who's intelligent enough to pick the right pass at the right time. we simply don't have one (Sess included). Mon has had 3 transfer windows to bring such a player in and failed, so there's no excuses. A good manager would of rectified this lack of creativety sooner rather than later. If you want to watch kick and rush football get yourself down to a pub game on a Sunday morning. It's a similar standard and its free!

Getting tired of this lot talking nonsense about MON.
Lets get this straight right now!
We would be bottom of the table if it were not for O'neill.
It is nothing short of a miracle that we are not in the bottom 3, MON has worked wonders.
Why don't you lot give yourselves a good shake, call yourselves supporters and you cannot even support the manager who has been brilliant to keep us in with a chance of staying up.
There is a lot of fickle fans, do not turn up for the games if you cannot support MON.
Ashamed of you lot right now.
MON is the best manager we have had in years.
Support MON or do one!

A sense of humour is a good thing, but a funeral is not always the bast place to display it. While I applaud your attempt to entertain us with this ludicrous nonsense, sadly the timing is misguided. Give us time to bury O'Neill before you start to make jokes about him; I am sure your irony will be better received once the headstone has been erected.

He worked wonders to keep us up when he first came but two or three transfer windows and a fair few million later we are still in the same place except we are playing worse football. I will still keep going to games and supporting the club as a whole but I don't think MON is who or what we thought he was.

Dont waste your time responding to the original post, its from a mag who has not got the brain of a potted plant.

What I can't understand with MON is the fact he hasn't appointed an assistant all season paticullay with the sad burden of the health of his wife to bear and not getting Robertson! he needs someone to bounce ideas off as not having one is affecting his judgement and the team!

Hope we don't sack O'Neil until the end of the season because 9/9 times when clubs have sacked their manager at this stage they get relegated

It is pointless trying to distinguish between manager and players. Yes the players show little spirit and make too many basic mistakes. But the way they play and the tactics (or lack of them) are entirely down to the manager. If we have players who have given up, that simply underlines how poor O'Neill's management is. The reality is that managers are judged on the performances of the players they put on the pitch. O'Neill puts the wrong players on the pitch, the right players in the wrong positions and generally his teams lack any shape or trace of creativity. His time here shows that he is not capable of managing in this division, though he has been given more time and money than many managers get- in fact it is hard to think of another club where anyone would still be claiming the manager knew what he was doing with only seven wins from the last 38 premier games. Last season we took five points from the last eight fixtures. If we do as well this time we will have 36 points. That is how good O'Neill is, and it is not good enough.
